## Why do live music promoters choose Ticket Fairy over both DICE and Shotgun?

You can be paid daily as tickets sell, so you have cash before the show, and you choose who pays the booking fee. Once you sell out, fans resell at face value and spare tickets go to your waiting list. Your door team scans on their own phones.

- Payouts arrive daily as tickets sell, or after the show, with nothing to set up.[5](#source-5)
- You choose whether buyers pay the booking fee on top of your price or you absorb it.[5](#source-5)
- Your fans can resell and transfer tickets at face value, and each returned ticket is offered to the next fan on your waiting list.[6](#source-6)
- Your door team can scan tickets on their own phones.[7](#source-7)
- You can promote your events with email and text campaigns, promo codes and referral rewards.[8](#source-8)

## What else should you know about DICE and Shotgun?

How do DICE and Shotgun fees work?: On both, buyers see one price with the fees included. Shotgun adds variable service fees to your price and does not publish the rate. DICE's US self sign-up terms set a 13% service fee on face value, and its UK terms set 8.5% plus VAT. [29](#source-29) [30](#source-30) [31](#source-31) [32](#source-32)

When do DICE and Shotgun pay you?: Shotgun pays your event balance automatically 24 hours after the event, and you can ask for earlier payouts by hand. DICE pays within 5 business days after the event. [3](#source-3) [33](#source-33)

Can fans resell tickets on DICE and Shotgun?: Yes, in different ways. Shotgun runs public resale in its app, where the seller pays 15% of the order price, capped at €15 or $30 in the US. On DICE, returned tickets for sold-out events go to fans on the Wait List. [34](#source-34) [1](#source-1)

What happens when a DICE or Shotgun event sells out?: Both open a waiting list. Shotgun's waiting list turns on by itself when an event sells out. DICE gives each fan on its Wait List a reserved window to buy a returned ticket, and shows you how many fans are waiting. [35](#source-35) [1](#source-1) [36](#source-36)

Can fans pay in installments on DICE or Shotgun?: On DICE in the UK, buyers can split the cost into 3 interest-free payments with Klarna. Shotgun offers installment plans only to organizer accounts in Europe. [37](#source-37) [38](#source-38)

How do you scan tickets at the door with DICE and Shotgun?: The Shotgun Scan app scans without internet access, and Xpress Door lets people buy at the entrance by scanning a QR code. DICE tickets are a QR code in the app, linked to the buyer's phone number and activated on the day. [39](#source-39) [40](#source-40) [41](#source-41)

## How are DICE and Shotgun priced?

### What does one order of 200 tickets at $40 cost on each platform?

- DICE Fee on each ticket **$5.20** Buyers pay **$9,040** You receive **$8,000** Card processing not stated in its published fee
- Shotgun Not published
- Ticket Fairy Fee on each ticket **$4** Buyers pay **$8,800** You receive **$8,000** Card processing included

On this order, your buyers pay $240 less on Ticket Fairy than on DICE, and you receive $8,000.

Sources[42](#source-42) [43](#source-43)

DICE: Self sign-up organizers pay no named subscription. DICE charges a per-ticket service fee outside commission on face value (13% in the US), and buyers see an all-in price. Separately agreed contracts may set other fees.[44](#source-44)

Shotgun: Per-ticket service fees added to the buyer price (rate not published); 15% fee on fan resale and waiting-list purchases; no organizer plans published.[45](#source-45)
