Speed garage initially bloomed out of underground clubs and illegal raves. This genre started out as a style of music enjoyed by a small group of young people. It gradually grew, made its way into the mainstream and eventually became a part of club culture in the late ‘90s and early 2000s, being echoed through a number of clubs across the UK. With the help of social media and digital music streaming platforms, UK garage as a whole is making a comeback.
