# Offer prizes your fans can win at your event

Promoters who already give buyers money back for bringing friends to an event can put something better on top of it. You choose the prize, what a fan has to do for it and when it is decided, and every winner and what you still owe them stay in one place.

Put an upgrade, merch, an experience or a table on your event, set what a fan has to do to win it, and give each prize out from Influencers.

Für: Rewarding the fans who fill your event

## Bevor Sie anfangen

- You have an owner or admin login for the event. For a prize that runs across a brand's events you need an owner or admin login for the brand instead.
- Prizes are switched on for your brand. Where they are not, Prizes says so and your Ticket Fairy contact turns them on.
- You know what you are giving away and how many of it you have. For a prize that moves a fan onto a better ticket you need that ticket type on the same event.

1. ## Open Rewards

Open your event, select **Rewards** and open the **Prizes** tab. The cash back your fans already earn for every ticket they sell sits at the top, and the prizes you offer sit under it.
![The Prizes tab of Rewards for an event, with the referral cash-back ladder above three prizes and what each one takes to win](https://www.ticketfairy.com/embeds/posters/marketing-prizes--prize-list.png) Rewards, Prizes, with the cash back above what you offer.
2. ## Start a prize

Select **Add a prize**. It asks three questions: what the prize is, who earns it, and when it is awarded.
![The Add a prize dialog, asking what the prize is, who earns it and when it is awarded, with Advanced folded away](https://www.ticketfairy.com/embeds/posters/marketing-prizes--add-prize.png) Add a prize.
3. ## Say what the prize is

Enter the **Name**, the **Description** your fans read while they work towards it, and **What is it?**.

**Hinweis:** A ticket upgrade moves one person onto a better ticket for the same event, so **Upgrade to** offers that event's own ticket types.
4. ## Choose what earns it

Open **How is it earned?** and pick what a fan has to do, then enter **How many do they need?**.

**Hinweis:** Leaving it on **You pick the winner yourself** shows the prize to your fans as something to aim at and leaves the winner to you.

## Ways to earn a prize

On an event: **Tickets they referred**, **Friends they brought**, a place on the **Referral leaderboard**, **Pre-registration points**, **Check-ins**, and what a pack of friends referred between them. On a brand: **Tickets they referred across your events**, the leaderboard across those events, and **Events attended**.

**Hinweis:** A prize for a place hands out one prize per person inside it, so a tie for third gives four people the prize unless you limit the winners.

5. ## Choose when it is awarded

Open **When is it awarded?** and choose the moment. A prize for a place on a leaderboard is always awarded at a moment you set, because a place only means something at a stated time.

**Hinweis:** Choosing **At a set date and time** adds **Award it on**, read in the event's own time zone.
6. ## Narrow what counts, and how many can win

Open **Advanced** to count only part of the run, to cap the winners with **Limit the winners**, and to ask each winner for what you need before you can send it.

**Hinweis:** Leave **Start counting from** and **Stop counting at** empty to count everything. Where you set them, the period ends after it starts and no later than the moment the prize is judged, because nothing a fan does after that moment can count.
7. ## Put the prize on offer

Select **Create prize**. The prize joins the list, and your fans see it from the point you chose under **Show it from**.

**Hinweis:** One event, and one brand, can offer twenty prizes at a time. Remove one before you add the twenty-first.

## What your fans see

The page a buyer sees after paying, and their order, carry **What your sharing has earned you**: their place among everybody sharing the event, the tickets and friends that came through their link and through their friends, **Who came through you** as a tree, and each prize with how far they are from it or what they have won. **Your rewards** in their account gathers this across their events, with **Your standing with each brand** and a gold, silver or bronze badge for the top three, ten or twenty-five people referring across a brand.

**Hinweis:** Every number a buyer sees is the one you see: the standings behind **Influencers** and the awards behind **Winners**, never a second count.

8. ## Give each prize out

Open your event, select **Influencers**, open the **Winners** tab and select **Mark as delivered** on a row once the prize is with them.

**Hinweis:** **Undo** in the message that follows puts it back, and both the delivery and the undo are kept in that winner's history. **Cancel** takes back a win that should not stand, asks you why, and keeps that reason in the same history.

## Make referrals count for more for a while

A boost is a period where what your fans refer counts for more towards their prizes, such as a launch weekend where every referral counts double.

1. ### Add a boost

Open **Boosts** and select **Add a boost**.
![The Boosts tab, with two boosts set out as plain sentences saying what counts for more, by how much and between which two moments](https://www.ticketfairy.com/embeds/posters/marketing-prizes--boosts.png) Prizes, Boosts.
2. ### Say what it lifts, by how much and when

Choose **What counts for more?**, enter **How much more?** between 1.5 and 5, and set **From** and **Until**.

**Hinweis:** A boost lifts what counts towards prizes only. The cash back a fan earns on their own ticket is worked out from your reward tiers alone.

Fai can read your boosts, add one and take one away. You see the dates and the multiplier before anything is saved.

### In Ihrem Dashboard, mit Fai

For this event, make referrals count double towards prizes from Friday 6pm to Monday 9am and call it Launch weekend

## Let friends refer together as a pack

A pack is a few friends pooling the tickets they refer to one event so they can win something together, such as a table for the group. Your fans start and join their own packs with a join code, and everybody keeps their own standing and their own prizes as well.

1. ### Turn packs on for the event

Open your event, select **Rewards** and, under **Packs**, turn on **Let buyers team up in packs**, then select **Save changes** in that section.

**Hinweis:** Once packs are on, **Packs** appears beside Winners, and **A pack** becomes an answer to **Who is it for?**. Turning packs off later keeps every pack your fans have made and everything they have won.
![The Rewards page for an event, with the referral link, cash back, prizes, packs and sharing sections, each with its own Save changes](https://www.ticketfairy.com/embeds/posters/marketing-rewards--event-rewards.png) Rewards.
2. ### Read the packs on your event

Open **Packs** for a row per pack: **People**, **Tickets**, **Friends brought** and its **Place** against the other packs.

**Hinweis:** Two packs may share a name, because two groups of friends may both pick the same one. The join code is what names a pack exactly.
![The Packs tab, with three packs and the people, tickets, friends brought and place of each](https://www.ticketfairy.com/embeds/posters/marketing-prizes--packs.png) Prizes, Packs.
3. ### See who is in one

Select a pack for the people in it, what each of them referred and when they joined.

**Hinweis:** A buyer who leaves a pack stops adding to its total from that moment and keeps anything the pack won while they were in it.

Fai can turn packs on for an event and read the packs your fans have started, with the people in each one.

### In Ihrem Dashboard, mit Fai

Turn packs on for this event so friends can pool the tickets they refer, then show me the packs so far

## Count the friends your fans' friends bring

A fan who brings a friend can bring that friend's friends too, one link at a time. Where you count them, every ticket bought down that chain counts towards the first fan's prizes, not only the tickets their own friends bought.

1. ### Turn on counting friends of friends

Open your event, select **Rewards** and, under **Prizes**, turn on **Count friends of friends towards prizes**, then select **Save changes** in that section.

**Hinweis:** This changes what counts towards prizes only. The cash back a fan earns still comes from the tickets their own friends buy.

Fai can turn this on or off for an event. You see the change before it is saved.

### In Ihrem Dashboard, mit Fai

Count friends of friends towards prizes on this event

## Read the wins across a whole brand

A prize that runs across a brand's events reports its wins on the brand rather than on any one event, so that is where you give those prizes out.

1. ### Open the brand's Winners page

Open your brand, select **Winners**, and mark a prize delivered from the same row as on an event.

**Hinweis:** The reminders you have sent about a brand prize are the other tab of that page. Everyone who may open the brand's **Rewards** page may open this one.

Fai can read a brand's winners and mark a prize delivered, undone or called off, the same as on an event. She shows you the winner and the prize and asks you to approve each change.

### In Ihrem Dashboard, mit Fai

For the brand \<BRAND NAME\>, show me who has won its prizes and mark \<PRIZE NAME\> delivered to \<WINNER\>. Show me the winner and the prize, then ask me to approve it

## Fragen, die Sie haben könnten

Who can add a prize and mark one as delivered?: Owners and admins on the event, or on the brand for a prize that runs across its events. A **Stats** or **Limited Stats** login reads the prizes and the winners and changes neither, and neither of those two logins sees a winner's email address.

Prizes says it is not switched on yet. What now?: Ask your Ticket Fairy contact. Prizes is on for brands as standard, so the page says this only where it has been turned off for yours, and it reads the answer straight away once they turn it back on.

Can I change a prize after a fan has won it?: Everything except what it took to win it. The name, description, picture, type, the ticket an upgrade goes to, when fans see it and what you ask winners for all change as before. What earns it, the number or place to reach, whether one person or a pack wins, the moment it is judged, the counting period and the winner limit stay as they were, because the people who won were told why they won.

What happens to the people who have already won if I remove a prize?: They keep it. Your fans stop seeing the prize straight away, and every win already recorded stays in **Winners** with its history.

Does a boost change the money my fans get back?: No. A boost lifts what counts towards a prize target, and the cash back on a fan's own ticket comes from your reward tiers, which a boost never touches.

Two fans are level for third place. Who gets the prize?: Both of them, and so does everybody else level with them. Set **Limit the winners** where you have a fixed number to give away.

Why is a prize for a place awarded at a set time rather than the moment a fan reaches it?: A place moves every time another fan sells a ticket, so "third" only means something at a stated moment. A prize for a number reached, such as five tickets referred, can be awarded the moment a fan gets there.

What happened to the prizes I set up for pre-registration?: They are on the **Prizes** tab of **Rewards** as prizes you pick the winner of, keeping the point in your event they were shown from. **Pre-Registration Prizes** still shows them where you set them up.

Can a pack of friends win a ticket upgrade?: No. An upgrade moves one person onto a better ticket, so choose merch, an experience, a VIP table or something else for a pack.

Where do I change what my fans share, and where they share it?: On **Rewards**, under **Sharing**: the message a fan starts with, the apps they are offered and the share card they get. **Choose how your buyers share your event** walks that.

A winner has dropped below the target since they won. Do they keep the prize?: Yes. **Winners** marks the row so you can see what happened, and the prize stays theirs because they had earned it at the moment it was judged.
