The Aussie and English partnership of [Lyndon Jarr](https://www.instagram.com/lyndonjarr/) and [Daniel Power](https://www.instagram.com/danielpowerdj/) brought Dutch extraordinaire Subp Yao for the label’s first release in 2018. Since then, [Unchained Recordings](https://soundcloud.com/unchainedasia) has been the flagbearers of drum & bass in China and Asia as a whole. Maintaining a fine mix of Asian, European and American talent, the label has hosted names like Zed Bias, Kabuki, Sinistarr, HLZ, Rohaan, DJ Madd, Paige Julia, Royalston, and Radiax, to name a few. Keeping traditional drum & bass tropes intact, Unchained have ventured into the experimental side of the genre that is club-directed, yet futuristic. Along with their massive individual releases, the label has been bringing fresh talent from across the spectrum for their yearly compilation. Drawing inspiration from the Chinese Zodiac calendar, which represents twelve animals, Unchained Recordings released ‘The Year Of The Rat’ and ‘The Year Of The Ox’ in 2020 and 2021. Pushing the narrative of re-setting the ceiling on bass music again this year, Unchained have released their third compilation called ‘The Year Of The Tiger’. The 12-track compilation features tracks from heavyweights like Rohaan, Gyrofield, Subp Yao, and Lakeway. From the captivating dozen of tunes, we are stoked to premiere Hyderabad-based producer Yung.Raj’s Hybrid bass weapon called ‘Rust Bucket’. Yung.Raj (aka Raj Verma) began his career in 2011. After performing with acts like Foreign Beggars, Shri, Karsh Kale, Niladri Kumar alongside his Voctronica project, the producer made a move away to focus on his solo project in 2017. Since then, he has landed 4 albums along with numerous singles and EPs on labels like Gutterfunk, 4NC¥ and many more. Having a penchant for blending a multitude of styles and sounds into his music, Yung.Raj’s music is fresh, distinctive and consistently forward-thinking. Coming to his tune on Unchained, ‘Rust Bucket’ marks his debut with the label, and this one is not for the faint-hearted!
