Tinder, which is owned by The Match Group, wishes to alter that completely. The Match Group made a seven-figure investment into nonprofit organization Garbo in March 2021 to update its latest safety feature. With this feature, Tinder users can conduct a background check on potential matches. By running Tinder’s safely tool, users can view public records of their potential dates. These include convictions, orders of protection, restraining orders, and arrests. Before swiping right on the Tinder app, you may conduct background checks for USD 2.50. When the function is used, Garbo will look for arrests and convictions for violent criminal activity with a high, medium, or low level of confidence. Initially, the service will be free. She is a gender-based violence survivor who seeks to make it more effortless to retrieve essential information about someone’s background that could signal a history of violence.
