LAVI lauds the 168-170 BPM mix as a “liberation from the limiting definition of success.” The pulsating beats continue at a lower tempo as ‘Wait’ sits next, an Afrobeat/house concoction peppered with jangly guitars, framing a saga of lovers on different wavelengths from each other. Next up is ‘Second Hand Mercedes,’ marked by a grim intro and a gloomy bass-meets-keys score. LAVI lets loose a flurry of R&B-style vocals on this tune about coming to terms with being broke as an artist and her lifestyle in and out of music. ‘Gullible’ rounds out the record and swells with a synth-heavy getup coupled with LAVI’s temperate voice over rhythmic swaying patterns.
