When everything in you is screaming for you to close the curtain and shut out the world, the weight and compulsion of acting normal is nearly impossible to bear.” The makings of ‘Another Day’ trace back to a four to five-hour jam session at Dhruv’s home studio back in 2021, with Dhruv unearthing composition a year later. The guitarist and audio engineer plugs in themes of self-isolation, noticing the happenings and events around them while also fumbling at words to explain this disappearance. Capturing music that speaks to a “walk into the darker side” – as read on Almost Through’s bio – the single picks up with strummy acoustic guitar laid over ominous-sounding synth work, light bass tugs, and periodic shakers chime in as Zeiya, in her first musical outing, delivers a stellar vocal display imbibing the weariness of the song, singing, and harmonizing over the bleak melody.
