Für SKY, eine Hälfte des aus Aotearoa stammenden DJ-Duos SKYTRI, war es ein Toyota Corolla von 1991.*** Nach „[Red Light](https://open.spotify.com/track/1ybSuW3UyJVeBBRiGYQbnw)“ (ihrer Debütveröffentlichung) schalten die Schwestern aus Auckland mit ihrem neuesten, hochtourigen Release „THE TOYOTA COROLLA SONG.“ einen Gang höher. Der von SKY geschriebene Track beginnt mit einem Sample aus Jeremy Clarksons Stimme aus Top Gear, bevor er durch tiefe, druckvolle Kickdrums, rasante DnB-Grooves, feurige Basslines und explosive Jump-up-Klänge jagt – alles abgestimmt auf die Zündung der Tanzfläche. Während die Visuals und Audiosamples stark auf Top Gears Folge „[Car vs Yacht](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e39u7hHDgvc)“ (gedreht entlang der Nordinsel Neuseelands) zurückgreifen, läuft der emotionale Motor des Tracks tiefer. Es war ihr erstes Auto, das ihnen ihr Vater mit 18 schenkte. Der rote Corolla von 1991 wurde für SKYTRI zum Fahrzeug der Freiheit, für Roadtrips, als stiller Rückzugsort und als Quelle vieler früher Erinnerungen. Jahre nachdem SKY sich von ihrem Corolla getrennt hatte, fand sie dasselbe Modell wieder – diesmal in einem glänzenden Gold-Silber-Ton – und verliebte sich erneut. Das Auto sollte schon bald zu einem treuen Tourbegleiter werden, als SKYTRIs DJ-Karriere Fahrt aufnahm. SKY schrieb in einer Pressemitteilung: „Mit meinem neuen Auto nahm ich sie mit auf Tour durch das ganze Land, während sich unsere DJ-Karriere weiterentwickelte. Eines Tages beschlossen wir, einen Song über sie zu machen.“ Über diese Reise sagte die DnB-Produzentin außerdem: „Diese Reise hat meine Liebe zu ihr noch verstärkt. Ich kann es kaum glauben. Der Corolla hat mein Leben verändert.
