# Learn From This Year and Start Next Year Already Set Up

Promoters who run the same festival, conference or series every year rebuild the same stages, rota, passes and budget each time, and try to remember months later what their audience complained about. With Ticket Fairy, the morning after the show a survey goes to the people who actually came, in their own language. You see your Net Promoter Score beside last year's, a rating for every stage, act and trader, and Fai's themes from the comments, and the top improvements become tasks on next year's event. When you set that event up, Copy from last event brings the whole operations setup across with every date moved, and last year's people, bookings and spending stay where they belong.

## Ask the People Who Came With a Survey That Is Ready to Go

Survey tools send to every buyer and need a list exported by hand. Feedback sets up the standard survey in one step and sends it only to the people whose tickets were checked in. It asks for an overall rating, how likely people are to recommend you, what they liked and what to improve, with a rating for each stage, act, session and trader your event already has, so the questions fit your event without you building them.

The survey suggests the morning after the event ends, in the event's time zone, while the night is still fresh, and tells you about how many people it reaches before you schedule it. Each person gets one email in their own language, on your event's branding, with their own link and no sign-in, and can change their answer until the survey closes. Change the wording, add your own questions, and take it back any time before it goes.

Turn on Sorry we missed you as well, and ticket holders who did not come get a short survey asking what stopped them. That answer tells you more about next year's on-sale than any report.

- **Standard survey**: the questions that matter, read from your event
- **The morning after**: a suggested send time in the event's time zone
- **Their own language**: one email each, with their own link
- **Sorry we missed you**: a short survey for ticket holders who did not come

## Compare Your Score and Every Stage With Last Time

The results update as answers come in. Read the share of people who answered and your Net Promoter Score beside your brand's last event with a survey, then compare each stage, act, session and trader by its average rating and how many people rated it. The debrief starts from numbers your whole team can see, so the conversation is about what to change rather than whose memory is right.

Compared with last time does the same for your sales. It lines this event up against your last edition at the same number of days before the start, with tickets sold, the share of capacity sold and last time's total, and after the show it adds no-shows and how fast people arrived against last year. Ticket Fairy suggests which earlier event to compare with, and you can choose another.

- **Net Promoter Score**: beside your last edition's
- **Ratings by stage, act and trader**: the average and how many rated each one
- **Compared with last time**: sales, no-shows and arrivals against your last edition

## Let Fai Read Every Comment for You

Hundreds of comments are easy to skim and hard to remember. Fai groups what people said into What people loved and To improve, says how many people raised each theme and quotes their own words, so you see at a glance that the bar queues mattered to far more people than the toilets did. Read the unhappy answers first by showing only the people who would not recommend you.

Download every answer when your team wants the full file. Names and email addresses on the answers show to owners and admins only, and each download is recorded with who made it, so your audience's answers stay with the people who should see them.

- **Themes from Fai**: what people loved and what to improve, with real quotes
- **Who would not recommend**: the unhappy answers first
- **Download answers**: every answer in one file, with each download recorded

- [Plan next year's event from your attendee feedback](https://www.ticketfairy.com/guides/plan-next-year-from-your-attendee-feedback)

![Ticket Fairy feedback answers for a festival, newest first, with a filter for people who would and would not recommend it](https://www.ticketfairy.com/embeds/posters/marketing-event-feedback--answers.png)

## Turn the Top Improvements Into Next Year's Tasks

Fai turns the top things to improve into tasks, and you check the list and add them in one step. The tasks go on your brand's next edition of the event, so "queues at the bars were too long" is already on next year's board, with an owner to give and a date to set, when you start planning it.

The same suggestion waits on Today until someone on your team decides, so it never gets lost in the post-show week. When there is no next edition yet, the tasks stay on this event until you plan the next one.

- **Add as tasks**: the top improvements on next year's task board
- **Next edition**: the tasks go on the event you plan next

## Start the New Edition From the Last One

Copy from last event brings the operations setup of an earlier edition into the new one. The event that looks like the last edition of this one comes first, so last year's festival is one choice away, and a search finds any other event of the brand you run. On a brand new event, Start with Fai offers the same copy, and Fai suggests it on Today the first time your team opens the event.

This is different from duplicating an event, which copies the ticketing setup into a new draft. Copy from last event works on an event that already exists and brings across how you run it: the stages, the rota, the passes, the hire and the budget plan.

- **Last edition first**: the event that looks like the last one at the top
- **Find an event**: any other event of the brand you run
- **Suggested by Fai**: the copy offered when you set up a new event

- [Copy the setup of your last event into your next one](https://www.ticketfairy.com/guides/copy-the-setup-of-your-last-event-into-your-next-one)

![Ticket Fairy Copy from last event dialog with last year's festival first as the likely last edition, two more of the brand's events and a search](https://www.ticketfairy.com/embeds/posters/marketing-event-setup-copy--choose-the-event.png)

## See What Each Part Adds Before You Copy It

The preview says how many days the dates move, so a shift at 18:00 on the Friday is at 18:00 on the Friday of the new event. Each part shows how many things it adds, how many the new event already has and keeps as they are, examples of what comes across and anything left out with the reason. Untick what you do not want and copy the rest in one step.

Copying only ever adds what is missing, matched by name, so what your team has already set up for the new edition stays exactly as it is and copying again never doubles anything. Settings an event has only one of, such as the email look, copy only when the new event has none.

- **Dates moved**: every time moves to the same day of the new edition
- **Counts and examples**: what each part adds and what is already here
- **Tick the parts**: choose exactly what comes across

## Bring the Setup Across and Leave Last Year's People Behind

Stages come with their capacity and opening hours, teams without their members and shifts with nobody on them, ready for this year's people. Accreditation zones and pass types, the site map unpublished, the radio plan, the kit list, dressing rooms, arrival windows, hotel blocks, the budget plan with nothing spent and the run of show's doors and curfew all carry over. People, bookings, answers and money spent are never copied.

The parts follow the sections your event uses. A food or drink festival copies its trader setup, fees and pitch rules, with applications closed until you open them. A conference copies the sessions people pick, its exhibitors as pending and its registration desk setup. The rest and hours limits, meal times, safety induction, approval rules, document packs and the documents you ask outside teams for come across too, and volunteer programmes and feedback surveys arrive as drafts you open when you are ready.

- **Stages, teams and shifts**: the rota's shape, ready for this year's people
- **Zones and passes**: what each pass type opens, with nobody in the groups
- **Trader setup and sessions**: the setup your kind of event relies on
- **Budget plan**: your sections and planned costs, with nothing spent

## Let the Copy Run While You Get On With the Day

The copy runs in the background and each part says when it is done, so you can close the dialog and carry on. Each part ends with how many things were added and how many were already here, and a part that could not be copied says why, such as a hotel the new event does not have yet. Add what is missing and copy again, and only those parts run.

Ask Fai to copy last year's setup and she shows you each part, what it adds and what is left out, then waits for your yes before anything is copied. She can also set up the survey, schedule it, read you the score and the themes, and close or reopen it, and she always asks before a survey emails your attendees.

- **Runs in the background**: close the dialog and the copy goes on
- **Result for each part**: what was added and what was already here
- **Copy again**: adds only what is still missing

## How Organisers Plan the Next Edition

- ### An Annual Festival

The morning after, the survey reaches everyone who was scanned in. Bar queues come top of To improve, the task lands on next year's board, and in January the team copies the stages, rota, passes and site map into the new edition in an afternoon.
- ### A Yearly Conference

Delegates rate every session, and the two lowest-rated rooms are moved for next year. The sessions, registration desk setup and exhibitor list copy across, with exhibitors waiting as pending until they confirm again.
- ### A Food Festival With Traders

Traders are rated alongside the stages, and the trader setup, fees and pitch rules copy into next year with applications closed. The organiser opens them when the new site map is ready.
- ### A Touring Series

Compared with last time shows the second city is behind last year at the same point, so the team moves marketing budget there. Each city's survey scores sit beside the last visit.
- ### A Show With Many No-Shows

Sorry we missed you tells the promoter that a late train strike kept people away, not the line-up. Next year's plan adds a shuttle task rather than a cheaper ticket.

- ![Ticket Fairy survey questions for a festival, with the overall rating, the recommend question, the questions people answer in their own words and ratings for each stage read from the event](https://www.ticketfairy.com/embeds/posters/marketing-event-feedback--questions.png) The standard survey rates every stage, act, session and trader your event has.
- ![Ticket Fairy Compared with last time after a summer festival, saying you sold 10.7% more tickets than last year, with no-shows and arrivals against last time](https://www.ticketfairy.com/embeds/posters/marketing-event-comparison--after-the-event.png) See how this edition sold and arrived against your last one.
- ![Ticket Fairy Copy from last event result saying Some parts were not copied, with accreditation zones not copied, pass types waiting for them and Copy again](https://www.ticketfairy.com/embeds/posters/marketing-event-setup-copy--partly-copied.png) A part that could not be copied says why, and Copy again finishes the job.

## Questions About Feedback and Copying Your Last Event

### Next edition & feedback

#### Who gets the survey?

Everyone with a ticket that was checked in, once per email address, even with several tickets. Crew and guest passes are left out, and so is anyone who unsubscribed from feedback emails or from your emails. Sorry we missed you goes to ticket holders who did not check in on any ticket.

#### Who can set up the survey and read the results?

The event's owners, admins and producers, from Feedback under After the show. Names and email addresses on the answers show to owners and admins only.

#### Can I change the questions after it is sent?

No. The questions are fixed once sending starts, so every answer means the same thing. A survey can have up to 20 questions.

#### How long can people answer, and is anyone emailed twice?

For the days you choose, and the links work at most 60 days after the survey was sent. You can close it early or reopen it. Each person is sent their email once, even if the send is interrupted and starts again.

#### Why is there no Net Promoter Score or themes yet?

The score shows once people answer the recommend question. Fai reads the comments once at least 5 are in, and again as more arrive.

#### How is Copy from last event different from Duplicate Event?

Duplicate Event copies an event's ticketing setup into a new draft. Copy from last event brings the operations setup, such as stages, the rota, passes, hire and the budget plan, into an event that already exists.

#### Who can copy a setup?

An owner, admin or producer on both events, which must belong to the same brand. Forms copy only for an owner or admin of both events.

#### What is never copied?

People and their answers, bookings, applications, sales, money spent, messages sent, links and codes. Each part says what it brings, for example shifts with nobody on them, or a site map that is not published and has no trader on a pitch.

#### Why was a part left out?

The preview gives the reason under the part. The usual ones are that the new event does not have that hotel, room or pass type yet, or that one of the two events has no start date, so dated things cannot move. A part that needs another, such as pass types needing their zones, waits for it.

#### Why does it say a copy is already running?

A teammate or Fai started a copy into this event a moment ago. The dialog follows that copy; when it finishes, copy again for anything still missing.
