## THE PLAY

The story of this play revolves around the life of a Bengali elderly couple. 65 year old Prashant Chatterjee and his 62 year old wife Sudha still love each other after 30 years of marriage. The only child of both is their son Rahul who works in another city. When Sudha's sudden health deteriorates, the doctor advises Sudha to undergo a minor operation.Sudha does not agree to the operation but at the behest of Prashant, she agrees. Sudha loses her life during the operation and Prashant is left alone. When Prashant shows Sudha's medical reports to his family doctor and other doctors, he learns that Sudha's life was lost due to the negligence of the hospital doctors. He decides to file a court case against the hospital to get justice for Sudha's untimely death.Due to Sudha's treatment and the case, all his accumulated capital is spent. He also receives threatening calls from the hospital to withdraw the case but he does not relent. He begins to hallucinate that Sudha is with him. At the end of the play he wins the case and gets 20 lakhs as compensation from the hospital which he donates to the organization who is working for needy people. In this way he gets justice for the untimely death of his wife Sudha.
