In this crowded world man in his twilight years is forced to live alone, today relationships have become superficial, when a man’s own family slowly leaves old parents due to employment, education  and modernity and also selfishness. The older people are forced to stay alone to keep their identity intact. 

Independence in life though lonely makes old people feel their life is more meaningful rather than adjusting to the modern life of society. Western culture has set in and nuclear families are the new trend, the younger generations are in a rat race, if at all they want to look after their parents they want it in their way they need space the daughter-in-law wants to shirk responsibilities, children belong to the modern age of gadgets where the older generation feel lost.

Let us hope the older generation will lead a life with self-respect.
