Making his big breakthrough with the 2017 hit collaboration with [CamelPhat](https://www.allmusic.com/artist/camelphat-mn0002711293), "Cola," he went on to collaborate with the likes of [Gorgon City](https://www.allmusic.com/artist/gorgon-city-mn0002959990), [Clean Bandit](https://www.allmusic.com/artist/clean-bandit-mn0003075358), [Kx5](https://www.allmusic.com/artist/kx5-mn0004286530), and many more. In addition to a handful of EPs, [Kotz](https://www.allmusic.com/artist/kotz-mn0003501032) released his official full-length debut, [Why Do We Shake in the Cold?](https://www.allmusic.com/album/why-do-we-shake-in-the-cold--mw0003404956), in 2020, following it with [Little Love](https://www.allmusic.com/album/little-love-mw0003857583) in 2023. The London-bred [Kotz](https://www.allmusic.com/artist/kotz-mn0003501032) played in an indie rock band while he was a teenager, pulling double duty as guitarist and singer/songwriter. Later, he dabbled in hip-hop before finally finding his niche as an electronic musician while studying in Bath, England. Combining a little of [Alt-J](https://www.allmusic.com/artist/alt-j-mn0002867436)'s weirdness and [Disclosure](https://www.allmusic.com/artist/disclosure-mn0002528416)'s groove-hook savvy, he extracted sounds from everyday life (ice cracking, voices, falling objects) and distorted them into the vacuum of his song space, creating a zero-gravity atmosphere cut with deep beats. Elderbrook scored an underground hit in 2015 with the [Andhim](https://www.allmusic.com/artist/andhim-mn0002637832) remix of "How Many Times" from his first EP, Simmer Down, which was released on [Rudimental](https://www.allmusic.com/artist/rudimental-mn0000583168)'s Black Butter Records. His second EP, Travel Slow, was issued in August 2015. He followed with the singles "Closer" and "Sorry" in 2016 while also producing an official remix for [Clean Bandit](https://www.allmusic.com/artist/clean-bandit-mn0003075358)'s hit "Rockabye." A handful of singles arrived in 2017 (later compiled on the Talking EP), but it was his collaboration with [CamelPhat](https://www.allmusic.com/artist/camelphat-mn0002711293), "Cola," that became a hit, topping the U.S. club and dance charts while also landing on lists across Europe and Australia. Elderbrook followed the success of "Cola" with his single "Sleepwalking" in 2018. He also started work on his debut album, with the first fruits appearing at the beginning of 2020 with the release of "Numb."
