description: "Join us at Lightning Society on July 30th for an intimate evening with one of the most extraordinary voices in modern jazz guitar. Italian-born guitarist Pasquale Grasso has captivated audiences around the world with a style that feels as orchestral as it is virtuosic—a singular approach shaped by classical technique and the harmonic brilliance of pioneers such as Bud Powell. A Grammy-winning collaborator with Samara Joy, DownBeat's 2024 Rising Star Guitarist of the Year, and a Sony Masterworks recording artist, Grasso has become one of the defining jazz musicians of his generation. But this won't be a typical concert. Set within the intimate surroundings of Lightning Society, the evening will weave breathtaking live performance together with candid conversation, offering a rare opportunity to hear not only the music, but the stories, influences, and philosophy behind it. Together, we'll explore Grasso's remarkable journey—from his early years in Italy to New York's legendary jazz clubs, international stages, and Grammy-winning recordings. Whether you're a lifelong jazz devotee or simply curious to experience an artist at the height of his craft, this promises to be an unforgettable night of music, conversation, and connection.
