San Francisco Halloween Bar Crawl
Halloween in San Francisco is bigger than just costumes and candy—it’s about the city coming alive at night with music, drinks, and thousands of people ready to celebrate. At the center of it all is Crawloween, the annual Halloween Pub Crawl produced by CrawlSF. In 2024, more than 20,000 people joined the party, making it the largest Halloween event in the Bay Area, and this year is expected to be even bigger.
The San Francisco Halloween Bar Crawl
The crawl takes place over four nights—October 24, 25, 31, and November 1—but it all begins with the kickoff on Friday, October 24. From 6PM to 11PM, costumed crawlers will take over Polk Street, hopping between more than 10 of San Francisco’s best bars.

How It Works
The night begins at Mayes Oyster House (1233 Polk Street), where participants check in and grab their wristbands. From there, the crawl is on—bars like Lush Lounge, R Bar, El Lopo, Wreck Room, Decodance, McTeague’s, Route 101, Kung Fu Action Theater, Amsterdam, Hanaro, and Mayes will all be part of the lineup.
Your ticket (starting at just $12) includes:
- Discounted drink specials at every bar
- Free admission (no cover charges all night)
- Live DJs spinning party soundtracks
- Party favors and contests to keep things wild
- The legendary Find the Gnome Contest, a crowd favorite
Why You Should Go
The Friday night event is the opening night of four days of Halloween fun in San Francisco, and it’s the perfect way to kick off the weekend. Unlike the massive Saturday crawl, which spans more than 40 venues, Friday night is a little more focused—just over 10 bars—making it easier to move between spots while still enjoying the scale of a citywide party.
Expect the streets to be filled with thousands of costumed partygoers—pirates, superheroes, zombies, and more—all dancing, drinking, and celebrating together. It’s the kind of night where San Francisco feels like one giant Halloween block party, and you’re right in the middle of it.
Don’t Miss It
Whether you’re local or visiting, Crawloween is the ultimate way to experience Halloween in San Francisco. Friday’s crawl is the start of a four-day tradition that only gets bigger each year. Tickets sell quickly, so grab yours now, find your best costume, and get ready to join the city’s most unforgettable Halloween party.
