Sonorous is a soul-infused psychedelic rock trio from Taupō, New Zealand. Formed in 2021, the band has built a strong reputation for their tight musicianship and distinctive, soul-rooted sound.

The lineup features Lucian McDermott (lead vocals/guitar), Khani Te Mete (bass), and Cooper Paalvast (drums). Lucian was recently recognised by Blues Festival Guide USA as one of the top eight up-and-coming blues guitarists globally.

Sonorous has performed extensively across New Zealand and Australia, sharing stages with artists including Simple Minds, Collective Soul, Texas, Pseudo Echo, and Grant Haua, and appearing at major events such as Greenstone Entertainment’s Summer Concert Series and Mitchell Creek Rock and Blues Festival QLD, Australia
