PARKING & SHUTTLES

• Do Not Park Close to the Venue or you will be banned from our events.
• A ticket AND proof that you didn't park nearby (Uber/Lyft or free shuttle receipt) will be required for entry to the event.
• Shuttles: From 6:30pm to 3am, a free shuttle service will run every 5-10 minutes to and from a location 4 minutes from the venue.
• The shuttle location, venue location and Uber/Lyft instructions will be included with your ticket.

• Jam: Low-income musicians can apply for free tickets to come jam using this Guest Musician Application.

Soji Sai (Nigerian Afrobeat / Highlife by Fela Kuti's Lead Guitarist)
Nigeria’s legendary guitar master and singer Adesoji “Soji” Odukogbe was, among other things, the lead guitarist for Fela Kuti for five years. Odukogbe draws on an extensive background in Nigerian Afrobeat, highlife, and spiritual music, bringing a unique sensibility to his highlife guitar interpretations.

Soriah (Tuvan Throat Singing)
“The Tuvan throat singing phenomenon that is SORIAH will take you to that holy place whenever you lend an ear to his music.”

Soriah is the stage persona of Enrique Ugalde, currently the most decorated non-Tuvan throat singer in the world, and a ritual artist who generates experimental soundscapes where ancient traditions are revealed through the lens of modern experience. Tuvan throat singing is a musical sound like no other. Mysterious, primordial and awash in a deeply visceral drone, it invokes the full range of the natural world – from deep mountain roots to the whistle of birds in flight. Soriah weaves Tuvan throat singing, pre-Columbian sounds, classical Indian raga, and modern Western styles, looping and processing his voice and traditional instruments into lush sonic tapestries. His lyrics are often written in Nahuatl (Mexica/Aztec) or Tuvan, preserving and expressing cultural mysteries with reverence and wonder.

Mónica María Quartet (Mexico y Más)
Monica Maria Quartet will share music from Mexico, Cuba and more. A fabric of traditional and modern sounds and poetry. Monica Maria has been performing and teaching in the Bay Area for over 20 years. Active in the son jarocho community, she travels to Mexico as often as possible to collaborate, study, record and perform. She studies and performs folk music from around the world, and has written nearly 100 original songs. Monica will be joined by Anthony Blea on violin, Camilo Landau on Guitar/Cuatro, and Marlon Aldana on percussion.

Clarissa Bitar (Palestinian Oud)
Clarissa Bitar is an award winning Palestinian oud musician and composer born, raised, and based in Los Angeles, California. They graduated from UC Santa Barbara with a degree in Music and an emphasis in Ethnomusicology. To further their studies, Clarissa sought training from prominent Arab oudists including Simon Shaheen, Charbel Rouhana, and Bassam Saba. Clarissa has had the privilege of performing around the country and internationally. They have incorporated oud with a multitued of genres ranging from R&B to Pop to Hip Hop and Rap. Their latest album titled 'Hassan Sabi' is out now on all streaming platforms. Their music has been featured on Netflix, radio, film, and exhibits around the word. They released a joint poetry-oud EP with Palestinian poet Mohammed El-Kurd in January of 2019 titled Bellydancing on Wounds as well as a their solo EP Bayati. Clarissa has a passion for teaching and sharing knowledge on Arab music, as well as performing and hopes to continue to carve our spaces for oud share this tradition with others.

The Sampaguitas (Filipino Folk)
Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, The Sampaguitas sing Filipino folk songs and inspired originals in three-part harmony. Drawing influences from folk, blues, doo-wop girl groups, and the Filipinx-American diaspora, Jenevieve Francisco, Cristina Ibarra, and Aireene Espiritu share music from their roots and explore what it means to be in a “third culture” between worlds. The sampaguita is the national flower of the Philippines and only fitting to describe the sweet sounds coming from their melded vocal textures, tones, and tight harmonies. “We each come from different experiences and familiarity with the language. But getting to sing and learn Tagalog, it feels like stepping into a river that flows back to our ancestors. Singing these songs  together is like creating our own connection to the country of our roots, and standing proudly in our Pinay heritage.”

Briana Di Mara (Global Strings)
Eclectic Bay Area musician Briana Di Mara is a member of Dirtwire, Stellamara, and La Zuli. She will be weaving tapestries of evocative sound with diverse instrumentation, including santoor and violin. Briana has a rich world folk music background which informs her original compositions and lush improvisations, blending influences from Ireland to the Balkans and the Middle East to create a unique and genre-defying sound.

Dezh Saadi (Persian Dance)
Dezh Saadi was born in Iran and raised in the Bay Area. She's been studying Persian Dance for more than 2 decades, has trained with Sharzad Dance Academy and currently dances with Miriam Peretz's Nava Dance Collective. In addition to being a performer, Dezh teaches dance to all ages.

warble is the DJ stage name of World Folk Jam founder oshan anand. He has been rocking dancefloors and blessing sacred spaces with his wild and wondrous musical collage skills for almost 3 decades. warble integrates diverse styles with an emphasis on post-genre electronic orchestrations influenced by dub and world folk music. Lavender Rise (Fire Arts)
Lavender Rise is a fire performer, psychiatric nurse, and retreat facilitator who harnesses the power of performance art as a modality of healing. With lilac-gray hair and teal-blue eyes, the flame is her muse as she explores themes of presence, fear, and the edges of human experience. Outside of performing, she is passionate about creating spaces for others to nurture their unique expressions, supporting their journeys toward healing and self-discovery.

Marisa Gregory is a multi-talented performer who owns Poisnlvy Circus and Aerial Dance Marin. Combining silly, sultry aerial acrobatics and fire dance, her multi-media circus performances are a joy to witness.
