### About Ferrari World

Ferrari World Yas Island, Abu Dhabi is an operating indoor theme park rather than a conventional concert venue. Opened to the public on 4 November 2010, it was the first theme park devoted to Ferrari and remains a cornerstone of Yas Island’s leisure district. Its five zones contain more than 40 rides and experiences, including rollercoasters, simulators, children’s attractions, motoring exhibitions, restaurants, shops and spaces for seasonal performances.

The building was originally designed to accommodate up to 10,000 people at one time. Its enclosed theme-park footprint covers approximately 86,000 square metres, while total accommodation across three levels is about 176,000 square metres. The park is fully air-conditioned and directly connected to Yas Mall, making it practical during Abu Dhabi’s hottest months.

Formula Rossa defined the park’s international reputation. It held the world top-speed rollercoaster record from 2010 until 31 December 2025. In January 2026, it achieved a separate record for the highest-speed rollercoaster launch, accelerating from zero to 240 kilometres per hour in 4.9 seconds. As of 14 August 2026, however, Formula Rossa is closed for maintenance and no confirmed reopening date has been published. Visitors should not book solely for this ride without checking its operating status.

### History, Architecture and Development

Discussions between Ferrari and Abu Dhabi developer Aldar began in 2005, and the foundation stone was laid on 3 November 2007. Construction took approximately three years, involving thousands of workers and extensive steel and concrete engineering. The park opened beside Yas Marina Circuit during the period when Yas Island was emerging as Abu Dhabi’s purpose-built centre for motorsport, tourism and entertainment. Ferrari drivers Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa attended its official opening celebrations.

Architect Benoy shaped the building around the flowing double curve of a Ferrari GT body. The red roof covers more than 200,000 square metres, measures over 700 metres in diameter and has a perimeter of approximately 2.2 kilometres. A 48-metre-high central structure contains a glazed funnel that narrows from about 100 metres across at roof level to 17 metres at its base. Twelve principal columns form an Arabic-star geometry beneath the roof. Insulation and high-performance glazing reduce solar heat and glare.

The 65-metre Ferrari shield occupying approximately 3,000 square metres of roof is the largest Ferrari logo constructed. The roof is not merely decorative: Turbo Track launches through it, while the seasonal Roof Walk allows harnessed guests to approach the logo and look across Yas Island. A seasonal zip-line was also introduced for the park’s tenth anniversary.

The attraction mix has steadily expanded. Tyre Twist arrived in 2012, Flying Aces in 2016 and Turbo Track in 2017. The Family Zone and Roof Walk-era experiences broadened the park in 2020, Mission Ferrari opened in January 2023, and the world’s first Ferrari-themed esports arena followed in 2024. Ferrari World marked its fifteenth anniversary in 2025 after welcoming more than 13 million guests over its history.

### Events and Programming

Ferrari World’s programme consists mainly of family productions, circus and stunt performances, character appearances, motorsport activations, cultural celebrations and corporate events. It does not regularly book touring arena concerts; major Yas Island concerts normally take place at dedicated venues nearby. Inside Ferrari World, the Welcome Plaza, La Piazza and Red Theatre are the principal entertainment locations.

Recent programming shows a strong seasonal pattern. In 2021, Winter on Italian Street featured the Candy-Cane Cabaret, Jingle Bell Rock Band, holiday characters, mini-golf and craft activities. The 2022 Winterfest expanded into an ice-skating production with aerialists and acrobats, Italian musicians, poi performers, ice sculpture, projection mapping and special effects. The 2023 edition retained the ice spectacular while adding daily character shows, a brass band and roaming balance and circus acts.

The esports arena transformed the park’s motorsport programming in 2024. Its facilities include 20 GT racing simulators—14 for adults and six for children—plus three premium F1 simulators. The Ferrari esports championship held its first Abu Dhabi LAN final there in December 2024 and returned for the park’s anniversary in 2025.

Other verified 2025 events included a Chinese New Year performance by the Shandong Art Troupe, the community-focused Formula Run and Officina Maranello. The latter was a three-times-daily summer show mixing circus performance, choreography and Ferrari workshop storytelling. Custom lighting, synchronised sound effects, video, scenery and show-control integration were used in the Red Theatre, with the park estimating approximately 18,000 viewers during its run.

The fifteenth-anniversary celebration on 3 December 2025 brought Charles Leclerc, esports competition, DJs, musical acts and a Ferrari-shaped drone display to the park. Around the annual Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, visitors can also expect fan zones with race screenings, simulators, tyre-change challenges, interviews and interactive games. This motorsport-week programming is more representative of Ferrari World than conventional headline concerts.

For 2026 and beyond, the confirmed calendar includes Winterfest from 5 December 2026 to 10 January 2027, with character entertainment, storytelling, a violin show, snow-play areas and interactive family activities. The park has also stated that another record-breaking rollercoaster is to be announced, but no verified design, opening date or ride specifications had been released by 14 August 2026.

### Tickets and Booking

Standard one-day admission currently begins around AED 345 when booked in advance. Gate prices typically range from approximately AED 360 to AED 380 depending on season and demand. Children under three are normally admitted free with proof of age, while junior pricing and ride access are influenced by height rather than age alone. Two-park and three-park combinations can offer better value for visitors spending several days on Yas Island.

A Quick Pass starts around AED 150 in addition to park admission and provides priority access to participating rides. It can be worthwhile during UAE public holidays, school breaks and Grand Prix week, but quiet weekdays may not justify the expense. Premium shared VIP packages have recently been priced around AED 1,500 per person and can include valet parking, hosted access, refreshments and reserved arrangements.

Advance dated booking is the safest strategy, particularly during winter and major Yas Island events. Tickets are generally non-refundable. Unused dated tickets may be revalidated under applicable conditions, with a change charge potentially applying. Ride closures do not normally produce an automatic refund, so review the day’s maintenance list before committing.

### Seating, Layout and Viewing

Most of Ferrari World is explored on foot, with ride queues replacing the seated-bowl layout of a theatre. Its five visitor zones are the Welcome Plaza, Adventure Zone, Racing Zone, Family Zone and Italian Zone. Thrill riders should prioritise Mission Ferrari, Flying Aces, Turbo Track and Fiorano GT Challenge; families with younger children will spend more time in the Family and Racing zones.

The Red Theatre is the park’s main production space. Event specifications list approximately 972 square metres, with configurations accommodating up to 1,500 people in theatre format, 500 for a standing reception or 200 in classroom layout. The Turbo Track event area measures about 1,220 square metres and can accommodate roughly 1,000 people in theatre format or 1,500 standing. These figures concern private and event configurations rather than guaranteed public-show seating.

For Red Theatre shows, central seats in the middle rows give the most balanced view of projection, aerial work and stage choreography. Front rows provide close detail but can require looking upward during circus sequences. La Piazza and Welcome Plaza performances may be standing-room events; arrive 15 to 25 minutes early if a clear view matters, especially with children or a wheelchair.

Permanent loudspeaker, lighting-console and rigging model specifications are not publicly listed. Available production information indicates that larger shows use event-specific lighting, video, sound design, special effects and show-control systems rather than relying only on a basic theme-park stage package.

### Getting There and Parking

Ferrari World is on Yas Leisure Drive, Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, beside Yas Mall and close to Yas Marina Circuit. It is approximately 10 to 15 minutes by car from Zayed International Airport, around 25 minutes from central Abu Dhabi in light traffic and roughly 50 minutes from Dubai’s nearest districts. Grand Prix traffic can increase these journey times substantially.

Drivers can use Yas Mall’s Grand Prix Parking or Fashion Parking. Parking is complimentary for Ferrari World guests after the vehicle registration plate is validated at the ticketing counter, information counter or Ferrari Store. Standard valet parking is currently around AED 52, while VIP valet parking is around AED 100. Follow Ferrari World signs from the car park or use the direct indoor route through Yas Mall.

Complimentary scheduled coaches serve selected stops in Dubai, Ras Al Khaimah, Sharjah, Ajman and Abu Dhabi city. A valid attraction ticket is generally required, spaces and times are limited, and passengers should arrive before departure. Yas Express buses connect Ferrari World with hotels and other attractions around Yas Island. Public city buses also serve Yas Mall, while taxis and app-based cars can use the designated Ferrari World drop-off area.

### Inside the Venue

Entry includes ticket and identification checks, bag screening and metal detectors. Pregnant guests and people with pacemakers can request the separate screening procedure. Outside food and drink are prohibited except baby food, formula and medically required items. Wheeled suitcases, coolers, weapons, glass, sharp objects, drones, scooters and skates are not permitted.

Lockers at the Plaza entrance cost around AED 35, while luggage storage begins around AED 50. Stroller rental starts at approximately AED 40. There is no traditional coat check, so use a locker for jackets and valuables. ATMs, prayer rooms, baby-changing facilities, feeding areas, first aid and a lost-property counter are available.

Dining ranges from quick-service meals to sit-down Italian food. Mamma Rossella is known for pizza and pasta; Officers Food Quarters serves burgers, pizza, salads and shawarma; Espresso Rosso offers coffee, pastries and gelato. Gran Tour Emilia draws inspiration from Ferrari’s Emilia-Romagna homeland, while the esports café provides lighter refreshments.

The Ferrari Store is one of the park’s signature features and is promoted as the world’s largest Ferrari retail space. Merchandise extends from toys and model cars to branded clothing, accessories and collectors’ items. Personal photography is generally allowed, but commercial filming requires prior permission and individual rides may prohibit cameras or loose phones.

### Accessibility and Inclusive Facilities

US ADA legislation does not govern this UAE attraction, but Ferrari World operates under local accessibility requirements and uses the UAE term “People of Determination”. It is a Certified Autism Center, indicating staff training and planning resources for autistic and sensory-sensitive guests. Wheelchairs can be rented, step-free routes and accessible toilets are provided, and two adult GT simulators have accessible configurations.

Eligible guests and one companion can currently receive admission for around AED 100 each with complimentary priority access to selected attractions when valid documentation is presented at the counter. Not every ride is accessible: restraint design, evacuation requirements, height limits, mobility and the ability to brace independently can affect eligibility. Team members cannot act as full-day personal carers.

Accessible toilets are positioned near the entrance, Mamma Rossella, Junior Grand Prix, Karting Academy and Made in Maranello. First aid is beside the prayer rooms near the admission turnstiles. Guests with specific mobility, prosthetic, sensory or medical needs should discuss their priorities with Guest Services before entering ride queues.

### Nearby Amenities

Yas Mall is directly connected and contains dozens of cafés and restaurants, making it the easiest choice for an early meal or post-park dinner. Al Fanar, adjacent to Ferrari World within the mall complex, is useful for visitors seeking Emirati cooking rather than another international chain. Yas Bay Waterfront and Yas Marina offer additional restaurants, licensed hotel bars and later evening activity.

Nearby accommodation includes W Abu Dhabi – Yas Island, Hilton Abu Dhabi Yas Island, The WB Abu Dhabi, DoubleTree residences, Crowne Plaza, Radisson Blu and Staybridge Suites. Most Yas Island hotels are a short taxi or complimentary island-shuttle ride away. Staying locally is particularly advantageous during Grand Prix week, when road closures, parking controls and rideshare demand can become significant.

### What Makes Ferrari World Special

The park combines an instantly recognisable piece of contemporary architecture with Ferrari’s industrial history and the wider motorsport identity of Yas Island. It is one of the few theme parks where a roof, rollercoaster, esports arena, car exhibition and neighbouring Formula One circuit contribute to the same story.

Its influence also extends beyond entertainment. Yas Island recorded more than 38 million visits in 2024, supporting strong hotel occupancy and Abu Dhabi’s strategy of diversifying its economy through tourism. Ferrari World was an early anchor for that development and helped establish the island as an international destination before many of its neighbouring parks and arenas opened.

Cultural programming prevents the park from functioning only as an Italian-brand showcase. Eid Al Etihad activities, Emirati dance and crafts, Chinese New Year performances, international esports and family winter productions give it a broader role as a meeting point for residents and visitors.

### Visitor Tips and Information

Recent visitor experiences vary sharply with timing. Guests praise the dramatic building, strong coaster collection, indoor climate and Ferrari detail, but recurring complaints concern unplanned ride downtime, slow queues, food prices and Quick Pass waits during peak periods. Other 2026 visitors have reported very light queues, showing how much the experience can change by day.

- Check ride closures immediately before travelling, particularly if Formula Rossa is your priority.
- Arrive before opening and visit Mission Ferrari or Flying Aces first.
- Allow six to eight hours for a full first visit rather than treating the park as a brief airport stop.
- Wear secure shoes and modest family-appropriate clothing; covered shoulders and shorts below the knee are recommended.
- Store loose valuables before thrill rides rather than relying on open ride-side shelving.
- Expect seasonal shows to change and collect a performance schedule after entering.
- Avoid Grand Prix week unless the fan atmosphere is part of the attraction.

### Frequently Asked Questions

#### Is Ferrari World Abu Dhabi still open?

Yes. Ferrari World remains open and trading under its established name on Yas Island. It normally operates throughout the year, although daily hours vary and the park can close areas for maintenance, private bookings or special events. The building is fully air-conditioned, so summer heat rarely affects the indoor attractions, but outdoor ride sections and roof experiences can face weather-related restrictions.

#### Is Formula Rossa open in August 2026?

No. As of 14 August 2026, Ferrari World lists Formula Rossa as closed for maintenance, without a confirmed reopening date. The ride may return after publication, so its status should be checked shortly before travelling. Do not assume that buying general admission or a Quick Pass guarantees access; operational, weather and technical conditions can change during the day.

#### Is Formula Rossa still the world’s fastest rollercoaster?

Formula Rossa no longer holds the overall top-speed record, which it retained from 2010 until 31 December 2025. It reaches 240 kilometres per hour and received a new record in January 2026 for the highest-speed rollercoaster launch, completing its zero-to-240-kilometre-per-hour acceleration in 4.9 seconds. It remains one of the fastest and most forceful launch experiences ever built.

#### How much does Ferrari World admission cost?

Standard advance admission currently starts near AED 345. Depending on season, gate admission may be approximately AED 360 to AED 380. Multi-park tickets, resident promotions and annual passes can change the effective price. Premium experiences, driving activities, F1 simulators, photographs and priority access are not always included, so compare the full package rather than the headline admission figure.

#### Do I need a Quick Pass?

A Quick Pass is most useful on weekends, public holidays, school breaks and during the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. It starts around AED 150 in addition to admission and covers selected rides. On quiet weekdays, regular queues may be short enough that the upgrade offers little value. Priority access also cannot prevent delays caused by breakdowns, reduced ride capacity or safety checks.

#### How long should I spend at Ferrari World?

Allow six to eight hours if you want to experience the principal coasters, family rides, simulators, shops and at least one live show. A four-hour visit can cover selected highlights when queues are light, but it leaves little margin for downtime. Enthusiasts visiting during a busy period should reserve the whole operating day and arrive before the entrance opens.

#### Is Ferrari World entirely indoors?

The principal public areas, restaurants, shops, queues and many attractions are indoors beneath the air-conditioned roof. Several major rides travel outside for part of their course, including Flying Aces, Fiorano GT Challenge and Formula Rossa. Turbo Track also launches through the roof. Outdoor sections can temporarily stop in high winds, adverse weather or unsuitable operating conditions.

#### Can young children enjoy Ferrari World?

Yes. The Family Zone contains Formula Rossa Junior, Speedway Race, Flying Wings, Turbo Tower and other attractions designed for children and accompanying adults. However, access is governed by individual height rules. Children under three normally enter free with identification, while shorter children may still need a paid junior ticket even when they cannot use every major ride.

#### What are the main height restrictions?

Restrictions vary considerably. Formula Rossa requires riders to be at least 1.40 metres tall and also imposes maximum height and weight limits. Mission Ferrari and Flying Aces begin around 1.30 metres, while several family rides accept smaller children when accompanied. Measure children before booking if particular attractions matter, and expect staff to check height again at ride entrances.

#### Is free parking available?

Yes. Ferrari World guests can use designated Grand Prix or Fashion Parking at Yas Mall and validate their vehicle registration inside the park. Validation is available at the ticketing, information and Ferrari Store counters. Standard and VIP valet services are charged separately. During major Yas Island events, traffic management may alter normal car park access, walking routes or validation arrangements.

#### How do I travel from Dubai without a car?

Complimentary scheduled coaches operate from selected Dubai stops for valid attraction ticket holders. Seats, timings and pickup locations can change, and the service may arrive after park opening. A taxi or private car gives more control but costs considerably more. For the return journey, confirm the final coach departure before entering the park rather than assuming late transport will be available.

#### Can I visit Ferrari World during an Abu Dhabi airport stopover?

The park is only around 10 to 15 minutes by car from Zayed International Airport, but a useful visit requires more than the driving time. Allow for immigration, baggage, transport, security screening and the return airport process. A stopover of fewer than six hours is generally too tight. Eight hours or longer provides a more realistic window for selected attractions.

#### Can I bring food or drinks inside?

Outside food and beverages are generally prohibited. Exceptions apply to baby food, formula, medically required food and medically indicated nutritional supplements. Bags are screened at entry. The park contains Italian restaurants, cafés and quick-service outlets, while connected Yas Mall provides additional choices before or after admission. Bring an empty reusable bottle only if current security instructions permit it.

#### What should I wear?

Wear comfortable clothing suitable for walking and secure, closed or firmly fastened footwear for thrill rides. As Ferrari World is a family attraction in the UAE, respectful dress is expected; covered shoulders and shorts extending over the knees are recommended. Offensive clothing is prohibited. Loose scarves, long garments and unsecured accessories may need to be adjusted or removed before certain rides.

#### Are bags allowed on the rides?

Small bags may enter the park after screening, but loose articles are prohibited on many attractions. Some rides provide nearby storage for non-valuable items, although the park does not accept responsibility for them. Entrance lockers offer greater security for passports, phones and cameras. Wheeled suitcases, coolers and bags with wheels are prohibited; separate luggage storage is available for an additional charge.

#### Is Ferrari World wheelchair accessible?

The principal indoor routes, restaurants, shops and entertainment areas are generally step-free, with accessible toilets and wheelchair rental available. Ride participation depends on restraint systems, evacuation capability and individual mobility. Eligible People of Determination and one companion may receive discounted admission and priority access. Guests needing physical assistance throughout the day should attend with a capable personal companion.

#### Are live performances included with admission?

Regular character appearances, seasonal shows and most park entertainment are normally included with valid admission, subject to capacity. Some fan-zone areas may be free to enter while rides still require a park ticket. Corporate functions, private celebrations and specially ticketed experiences operate separately. Show schedules can change daily, so collect the entertainment timetable soon after passing through the entrance.

#### Can Ferrari World and another Yas Island park be visited in one day?

It is possible but rarely ideal for a first visit. Ferrari World can occupy most of a day once queues, meals and shows are included. A two-park day works best when opening hours are extended and you only want selected highlights. Multi-park tickets usually permit visits across several days, which gives better value and reduces pressure to rush between attractions.
