Events and Programming
Cristy B Comedy is a small, high-energy comedy club at 242 S. Beach Street, Suite 100, in downtown Daytona Beach. Its core program is live stand-up, with nationally touring comedians, Florida-based professionals, local performers, open-mic talent, and rotating showcases. The room’s compact scale allows the club to present touring acts in a setting that feels closer to a neighborhood comedy room than a conventional theater.
The regular schedule includes Friday and Saturday comedy showcases, headline appearances, weekday open mics, and special events. Recent programming has also included comedy and karaoke nights, all-arts open mics for musicians, poets, storytellers and singers, comedy brunches, wine tastings, themed showcases, Spanish-language comedy, burlesque comedy, dirty bingo, and entertainment-focused private events. The club therefore books more broadly than straight stand-up while keeping comedy at the center of its identity.
Examples from the Daytona program during 2026 include performances by Bret Ernst, Michael Cheselka, Ricky Reyes, Solo Jones, Dr. Anna Lepeley, Yaqiao Yang, Bear Webb, Chris Kattan, Nate Meeker and D.J. Demers. The public calendar also shows showcase bills with South Florida and Central Florida comedians, open-mic nights, a New York-oriented “Crazy Show,” the “Laughing Lace” comedy and burlesque showcase, and comedy takeovers from outside the area.
Announced 2026 programming extends into September and October with Bret Ernst, Kirsten Michelle Cills, Stormy Daniels’ “Unicorn in the Kitchen” tour and Gary Michaels’ biker comedy hypnosis show. No publicly listed 2027 dates or longer-term announced season were found in the reviewed event material, so future programming should be understood as subject to the club’s rolling calendar.
The club’s recent history shows a consistent interest in giving developing comedians stage time. Its open mics have been advertised as no-cover events or free-reservation events, while showcase nights mix rising performers with more established comics. Comedy classes and class-reunion shows have also formed part of the wider Cristy B programming model, particularly during the club’s Palm Coast period.
Tickets and Booking
Tickets are normally sold through the club’s online event calendar and linked checkout pages. Advance purchase is strongly recommended because the room is small and the club says popular shows can sell out. Some open mics and community-oriented events are free, while certain showcase listings have allowed guests to reserve online or pay at the door when space remains.
Prices vary by performer, event type, seating inventory and fees. Public examples include $20 tickets for earlier Palm Coast club shows, roughly $28 to $34 including fees for some 2026 Daytona performances, and higher premium inventory for certain headliner events. One published Bret Ernst listing showed a range of $28.29 to $87.15 including fees, so the exact price should always be checked against the individual event listing.
Most ticketed shows require a two-item minimum per person inside the showroom. The minimum can be met with food, snacks or beverages. Ticket sales are generally final, with refunds normally limited to canceled shows. Special events may exclude promotional tickets, prize tickets, birthday offers or memberships, so discounted benefits should not be assumed to apply to every performance.
For the best choice of seats, purchase ahead and arrive early. Reservations can expire five minutes before showtime, and late arrivals may be seated at staff discretion. Private bookings are available for birthdays, corporate gatherings, fundraisers, workshops, holiday events and custom comedy shows; private-event pricing is quoted according to date, layout, catering and entertainment requirements.
About Cristy B Comedy
Cristy B Comedy is an intimate indoor comedy venue founded and operated by comedian and entrepreneur Cristy Barrick. The Daytona club occupies Suite 100 at 242 S. Beach Street, next door to Cinematique of Daytona. Opening coverage describes the room as having a maximum capacity of about 65 guests, with every seat intended to feel connected to the stage.
Published private-event information contains a capacity inconsistency: one heading states a maximum of 70, while the detailed seating section states 65. The independent opening report also gives 65. For ordinary public shows, 65 is the more consistently supported figure; the higher number may refer to a particular private-event arrangement or a marketing variation. No official seating diagram or measured floor plan has been published.
The Daytona location grew out of Barrick’s earlier Cristy B Comedy Club in Palm Coast. In April 2024, she acquired Madcaps Comedy Club at 160 Cypress Point Parkway and converted it into Cristy B Comedy Club. The Palm Coast room accommodated about 50 guests and presented professional comedians every Friday and Saturday, alongside open mics, Musical Bingo, improv nights and comedy classes.
The Daytona expansion was announced in March 2025 as a second location planned for spring. Soft-opening showcases took place on December 19, 20, 26 and 27, 2025. Opening coverage also announced official grand-opening performances by Jimmie “J.J.” Walker on January 2 and 3, 2026. A red-carpet ribbon cutting at the Daytona address followed on January 9, 2026.
Seating and Layout
Public shows use open seating unless an event listing says otherwise. Staff seat guests in order of arrival, and parties who want to sit together should enter the showroom together. Tables are described as seating two, four or six people; parties of fewer than four may be placed with other guests at the same table.
For the most direct interaction and strongest view of facial expressions, the front-center area is usually the best choice. Guests who prefer a broader view of the room or less crowd interaction may favor the rear or side tables. These are practical viewing suggestions rather than published seat ratings, and the best position can change with the performer, stage setup and event layout.
Private events can use table seating, theater-style chairs, high tops, low tops or banquet arrangements. Reserved VIP seating is listed as a private-event add-on rather than a standard feature of every public comedy show. The intimate layout is part of the club’s appeal, but no published dimensions, acoustic measurements or formal seating chart are available.
Getting There and Parking
The venue is at 242 S. Beach Street, Suite 100, in downtown Daytona Beach, within the Beach Street restaurant, retail and nightlife district. The club’s visitor information lists free parking together with street parking on Beach Street. City information has also described free public parking behind the Beach Street shops, although availability can become tighter during busy downtown events and holiday periods.
Street parking is the closest option, but arriving early is sensible because seating is first come, first seated and nearby downtown activity can increase demand. The club does not publish a dedicated event parking lot, reserved parking area or guaranteed space for ticket holders. Parking rules, closures and temporary restrictions should be checked on the night of the show.
Volusia County’s VOTRAN system serves downtown Daytona Beach through the Transfer Plaza at 227 Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune Boulevard near Beach Street. Following route changes implemented June 28, 2026, Route 12 continues along Beach Street in both directions, while some previous Route 11 Beach Street service was discontinued. From the downtown transfer area, the club is reached by continuing south along Beach Street toward the 200 block.
Inside the Venue
Visitors should expect a compact comedy-room atmosphere rather than a large theater lobby. The room has been described in opening coverage as a beautiful existing space that Barrick “sparkled up,” with photographs showing a brick-backed stage, a microphone setup and glittering curtains. The location previously housed another comedy club, giving the suite an established connection to Daytona’s local comedy history.
Available drinks include beer, wine, champagne, seltzers, mocktails and other nonalcoholic options. Event listings have also advertised local craft beer, premium wine, wine flights, THC-infused drinks and a 33-ounce draft beer. Snacks such as chips and popcorn are listed, while catered food may be arranged for selected private events. Public listings do not provide a complete permanent menu.
The standard two-item minimum is important when budgeting for a show. Video recording is not permitted, while still photography may be allowed at a performer’s discretion. Late arrivals may be seated wherever staff can place them without disrupting the performance. The public information reviewed does not confirm a coat check, permanent merchandise counter, dedicated Wi-Fi service, restroom locations or a formal security procedure.
Nearby Amenities
Cristy B Comedy sits in downtown Daytona Beach’s Beach Street district, where visitors can combine a show with restaurants, bars, shops and other nightlife. Opening coverage specifically describes the club as being surrounded by dining and entertainment options, making the area suitable for a pre-show meal or post-show drink without moving to another part of the city.
Because many performances begin between 6:30 and 8:30 p.m., arriving 30 to 45 minutes before showtime leaves time to park, find the suite, order drinks and settle into open seating. For late finishes, rideshare or a designated driver is the most practical option if public-transit service has ended. No venue-operated shuttle or late-night transportation service is advertised.
What Makes This Venue Special
Cristy B Comedy’s defining feature is scale. A room holding roughly 65 people can give touring comedians a close audience and allow local comics to test material in front of a live crowd. The club’s programming also connects several parts of the regional comedy ecosystem: professional headliners, Florida showcase bills, open-mic performers, comedy students, themed entertainment and private-event audiences.
Barrick’s importance to the local scene comes from more than the Daytona room itself. Before opening the Palm Coast club, she produced comedy nights at venues including restaurants, breweries, supper clubs and hotels, and reported organizing shows at about 75 different venues. She continues to book comedy in other nearby locations, giving performers opportunities beyond a single club stage.
The Daytona opening was welcomed by the local business community as another attraction for residents and visitors in the revitalized Beach Street area. There is no published independent study measuring the club’s revenue, employment or tourism impact, but its observable contribution is cultural: it keeps live comedy, talent development and small-scale evening entertainment in the downtown district.
Visitor Tips and Information
Check the individual event listing for the age requirement. Most shows are advertised as 18+, while some family-friendly events may admit younger guests. Adult programs can be more explicit: the “Laughing Lace” event, for example, is advertised for guests 18 and older and includes sexually explicit material, adult humor and burlesque performance.
Arrive 30 to 45 minutes before showtime, particularly for a headliner, a special event or a group that wants to sit together. Bring identification when the event is age-restricted, and plan for the two-item minimum. Avoid recording video, and do not assume that promotional tickets, memberships or birthday offers apply to special events.
No formal dress code is published. Comfortable casual clothing is appropriate for a small comedy club, while themed or adult events may attract a more nightlife-oriented crowd. The public information reviewed does not state specific bag restrictions, prohibited-item rules, ADA seating arrangements, accessible restroom details or step-free entrance information. Guests with access needs should confirm the available arrangements before purchasing.
Frequently Asked Questions
Where is Cristy B Comedy located?
Cristy B Comedy is located at 242 S. Beach Street, Suite 100, in downtown Daytona Beach, Florida. The club is in the Beach Street entertainment district and next door to Cinematique of Daytona. Because the venue is identified by its suite number rather than a large theater entrance, first-time visitors should allow extra time to locate the correct door after parking.
How many people fit inside Cristy B Comedy?
The strongest published capacity figure is approximately 65 guests. One private-event page mentions 70 in a headline but later states that the club accommodates 65, and an independent opening report also gives 65. The club has not published a measured floor plan or official seat map, so 65 is the safest figure to use when planning a public show or private gathering.
Does Cristy B Comedy have assigned seating?
Public shows generally use open seating. Staff seat guests in order of arrival, and tables are described as seating two, four or six people. If you are meeting friends, enter the showroom together so staff can place the group together. Parties with fewer than four guests may share a table with another party, depending on the event and available space.
How early should I arrive?
The club recommends arriving 30 to 45 minutes before showtime, with doors typically opening 45 minutes before the performance. Early arrival matters because seating is first come, first seated, parking can be more difficult during downtown events, and reservations may expire five minutes before showtime. It also gives guests time to order drinks before the comedian begins.
Does Cristy B Comedy sell tickets at the door?
Door sales are available for some events when seats remain, and certain listings specifically say guests may reserve ahead or pay at the door. Door availability is not guaranteed because the room is small and popular shows may sell out. Advance purchase is the safer choice, especially for touring headliners, special events and performances with limited seating.
What do tickets usually cost?
Prices vary considerably by performer and event. Earlier Palm Coast listings advertised $20 tickets, while public 2026 Daytona examples show standard prices around the high-$20s to mid-$30s including fees. Premium inventory can be higher; one listing displayed a range reaching $87.15. Open mics may be free, but the individual event listing remains the only reliable source for the final price.
Is there a food or drink minimum?
Most ticketed showroom events require each ticket holder to purchase two items inside the club. The minimum can generally be satisfied with any combination of snacks, food or beverages. Listed options include beer, wine, champagne, seltzers, mocktails and nonalcoholic drinks, along with snacks such as chips and popcorn. Private-event catering is handled separately.
What kind of drinks are available?
Published event information lists beer, local craft beer, wine, premium wine, champagne, seltzers, mocktails, THC-infused drinks and other nonalcoholic options. The club has also promoted wine flights and a 33-ounce draft beer. Availability may differ by event, and the public material does not provide a permanent price list or complete menu, so guests should expect the selection to vary.
Are Cristy B Comedy shows appropriate for children?
Most shows are advertised for guests 18 and older, but the club says some special or family-friendly events may allow all ages. Adult programming can include explicit language, sexual material, burlesque or mature themes. Do not rely on the general venue age guideline; check the specific show listing before bringing anyone under 18.
Can guests take photos or record the show?
Video recording is not permitted. Still photography may be allowed at the performer’s discretion, so guests should wait for staff or performer guidance rather than assuming cameras are acceptable. This policy protects the comedian’s material and helps preserve the audience’s experience in a small room where a bright screen or flash can distract both performers and nearby guests.
Where can visitors park?
The club lists street parking on Beach Street and free parking as available for visitors. City information has also described free parking behind the Beach Street shops. Spaces are not guaranteed, and busy downtown events can make nearby parking more competitive. Arriving early is the best strategy, especially when a show uses open seating and the audience wants to park close to the venue.
Can I reach the venue by public transportation?
Yes. VOTRAN serves downtown Daytona Beach through the Transfer Plaza at 227 Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune Boulevard near Beach Street. Route 12 continues along Beach Street after the June 28, 2026 service changes. Transit schedules can vary by day and event time, so confirm the return trip before attending a late performance, particularly on weekends or after a show ends.
Does the venue provide accessible seating?
The public venue information reviewed does not specify accessible seating, an accessible entrance, restroom details or other ADA arrangements. That does not establish that accessible facilities are unavailable; it means the information is not published clearly enough to rely on when planning a visit. Guests with mobility, hearing, visual or other access needs should confirm the arrangements before purchasing tickets.
Does Cristy B Comedy host private events?
Yes. The club advertises private parties, birthdays, corporate gatherings, fundraisers, workshops, networking events, holiday celebrations and custom comedy shows. Layouts can include tables, theater-style chairs, high tops, low tops and banquet arrangements. A private comedy lineup, host, custom lighting, photo backdrop and event coordinator may be available as add-ons, with pricing based on the event plan.
What happens at the open-mic nights?
Open-mic programming gives performers from Florida and the surrounding region a chance to test material in front of a live audience. Comedy open mics have been advertised as no-cover events, with sign-ups beginning before showtime. Other nights expand the format to musicians, poets, storytellers and singers. Audience members should expect an informal, developing lineup rather than a finished headliner show.
Has Cristy B Comedy always been in Daytona Beach?
No. Barrick previously operated Cristy B Comedy Club in Palm Coast after acquiring Madcaps Comedy Club in April 2024. The Palm Coast room held about 50 people and developed a schedule of professional shows, open mics, Musical Bingo, improv nights and comedy classes. Daytona’s location followed soft openings in December 2025 and began its new chapter with performances and a January 2026 ribbon cutting.
What makes the Daytona club different from a theater?
Cristy B Comedy is designed around proximity rather than scale. The published capacity of about 65 guests, shared tables and first-come seating create a direct relationship between performer and audience. Touring comedians appear alongside local talent, open-mic performers and themed acts. The result is a flexible comedy-room format where the audience is part of the atmosphere rather than separated from the stage by a large auditorium.
