Put a Ticket on Every Phone and Sell One to Anyone Who Scans Your Code

A buyer searching their inbox at the front of the queue slows everybody behind them, and a passer-by who sees your poster gives up when buying means an event page, an account and a long form. With Ticket Fairy, every buyer gets their tickets by email with a QR code, can open the same tickets in their account and can save each one to the wallet on their iPhone or Android phone. Print a quick-buy QR code on a poster, a flyer or the table at the door, and a walk-up buys on their own phone with Apple Pay or Google Pay and no account, with the ticket arriving like any other order.

  • Tickets by email, in the buyer's account and in their phone wallet
  • Old codes refused once a ticket is refunded or passed on
  • Walk-ups buying from a QR code on their own phones

Send Every Buyer Their Tickets the Moment They Pay

Each buyer's confirmation email carries their tickets as PDFs, each with its QR code, its ticket type and the ticket holder's name, and the same tickets wait on the order in the buyer's account. Add your own words to the confirmation email, such as the door time, the age limit and how to get home, and send buyers' replies to an address your team reads. The questions that would otherwise reach your inbox are answered before anybody asks.

Print your directions, the entrance to use and what to bring on the ticket PDF itself, and give a camping, VIP or parking ticket type words of its own. The ticket a buyer shows at the door then carries what they need to know on the way there.

  • Tickets by email: a PDF with a QR code for each ticket
  • In their account: the same tickets on the buyer's order
  • Your words in the email: door times, rules and how to get home
  • Reply-to address: buyers' replies reach your team

Let Buyers Keep Their Tickets in Their Phone Wallet

Add to Wallet on the buyer's order, and on the page they see after paying, saves each ticket as a pass in Apple Wallet on an iPhone or Google Wallet on an Android phone. The pass carries the ticket type, the ticket holder's name and the QR code, so a buyer opens their ticket from the phone's wallet at the door without signing in to anything or searching their email.

Each ticket gets its own pass, so a buyer who bought for a group can hand each friend their own ticket. Buyers who prefer paper download the PDF from their order and print it, and your door team scans a printed code the same way as one on a phone.

  • Add to Wallet: on the order and on the confirmation page
  • iPhone and Android: Apple Wallet and Google Wallet passes
  • Printable PDF: for buyers who want a paper ticket

Get a Ticket That Never Arrived Into the Buyer's Hands

When a buyer says their tickets never came, the email address usually has a typo or the buyer reads a different inbox. Your box office or support team finds the order, corrects the name or email address on the ticket, and sends the same tickets again to the address the buyer gives. The QR code stays the same, so a ticket already printed or saved to a phone still scans.

A resend goes to the address you enter for that one send and leaves the order as it was, so edit the ticket as well when the buyer should keep the new address. Ask Fai, the assistant inside your dashboard, to find a buyer's order and read out its tickets, their state and the address on them, so you know what was sent before you send it again.

  • Resend: the same tickets to any address you enter
  • Edit Ticket: the name and email on one ticket
  • Same code: a printed or saved ticket still scans

Admit Whoever Holds the Ticket Now

When a buyer refunds, resells or passes on a ticket, its old QR code is refused at the door, whatever the buyer's phone, wallet pass or printout still shows. The Entry Fairy app tells your door team why in plain words, and the new ticket holder's ticket scans. The person who holds the ticket now is the one who gets in, and a screenshot of a refunded ticket gets nobody through.

A wallet pass can also be taken off the buyer's phone when the ticket is cancelled, refunded, resold or passed on. A buyer paying in instalments can save their tickets to their wallet once the last payment is made, and their order tells them so until then.

  • Old codes refused: refunded, resold and passed-on tickets
  • The reason shown: in plain words for your door team
  • New holder admitted: the ticket they hold now scans

Turn Any Poster Into a Box Office

Create a quick-buy link for the whole event, one ticket type or one add-on, and download its QR code for your printer. Put it on posters and flyers, the table at the door, the bar or a sign by the entrance, or copy the link into a message or a post. A buyer scans it with their phone camera and lands in a checkout with the ticket already chosen.

Give each link a label your team recognises, such as the poster run or the venue it is on, so you know which code is which. The list shows whether each link is on sale, so your team knows which codes to take down.

  • Create link: for the whole event, a ticket type or an add-on
  • Show QR: download it as a PNG or an SVG
  • Copy link: the same checkout in a message or a post

Let Walk-Ups Pay in One Tap on Their Own Phone

A link for one ticket type opens a checkout with that ticket already chosen, so the buyer picks how many, enters their email address and pays. Apple Pay and Google Pay fill in the billing details from the buyer's wallet, and a card works too. Nobody creates an account or a password, and the buyer receives their ticket by email like any other order on your event.

A whole-event link shows your ticket types and add-ons with a running total, so a buyer can put together their own order. Each sale arrives as an order on your event, on your Orders page and in your sales reports, and its ticket scans in the Entry Fairy app straight away.

  • Apple Pay and Google Pay: one tap, with the billing details from the wallet
  • Email address only: no account and no password
  • Whole event: every ticket type and add-on, with a running total

Sell Drinks Packages and Upgrades From the Bar

Point a link at an add-on or at a ticket type you keep off your public event page, such as a drinks package, a VIP upgrade or a late-night pass, and only the people who scan the code can buy it. Add a promo code to the link and its discount applies at checkout. Give the link an expiry date for a flash offer or a one-night poster, and switch it off when the offer ends.

Set the quantity a buyer starts with and the most they can buy in one go, so a two-for-one offer opens at two. Switch a link off and on again with Active, and the QR code you printed works as before once it is back on.

  • Add-ons and hidden ticket types: offers only the people who scan can buy
  • Promo code: a discount that applies at checkout
  • Expires at and Active: an offer that ends when you choose

Shorten the Queue at the Door

Put a quick-buy QR code at the entrance, and walk-ups buy on their own phones while your door team keeps scanning. Buyers who would rather pay your team buy from the box office in the Entry Fairy app, with cash or a tap of their card, phone or watch on your team's phone. Both kinds of sale arrive as orders on your event, so every ticket scans the moment it is bought.

Ask Fai for a checkout link that opens with a ticket type and quantity already chosen, when you want to send one quickly in a message. She can also change the words printed on your tickets and shows you each change before she saves it.

  • Walk-ups buy on their phone: while your door team scans
  • Box office alongside: cash and card sales in the scanning app
  • Checkout links from Fai: a ticket type and quantity already chosen

How Organisers Use Mobile Tickets and Quick-Buy Codes

  • A Club Night With a Street Poster Run

The promoter prints a quick-buy code for general admission on every poster, each run with its own label. Passers-by buy in a few taps with Apple Pay, and the list shows which posters to take down once the link expires on the night.

  • A Festival With Camping and Parking

Camping and parking ticket types carry their own collection directions on the PDF, and buyers save every ticket to their phone wallet. At the gate, the door team scans wallet passes and printed PDFs alike.

  • A Venue Bar Selling Upgrades

A table card at the bar carries a quick-buy code for a hidden VIP upgrade ticket type. Guests buy the upgrade on their own phones during the show, and the bar team never handles the payment.

  • A Theatre Run With Gifted Tickets

A buyer passes a ticket to a friend for Saturday's show. The friend's new ticket scans, and the buyer's old wallet pass is refused at the door with the reason shown, so only one person gets the seat.

  • A Conference Box Office Desk

A delegate says their tickets never arrived. The box office team corrects a typo in the email address on the ticket and resends it, and the delegate walks in with the same code a minute later.
