# Build an Event Page That Turns Visitors Into Ticket Buyers

A buyer arrives from a post, an ad or a friend's link, usually on a phone, and decides in moments. Before they choose a ticket they look at the flyer, the line-up, the door times and the age rule, and every unanswered question is a reason to leave or an email to your inbox. Ticket Fairy gives every event a page built around your artwork, with your description, your FAQs, your tickets grouped the way buyers think and a [waiting list](https://www.ticketfairy.com/event-ticketing/event-waiting-list) when a ticket sells out. You choose the minute it goes public, Google and the city and venue pages can list it, and the Traffic report shows you which sites sent the buyers.

- A page that looks like your flyer and answers buyers' questions
- Your page public at the minute you announce
- Buyers who find you through Google, cities and venues

![Ticket Fairy Event Images card with upload areas for the flyer and the background, each stating its size](https://www.ticketfairy.com/embeds/posters/marketing-event-page-design--images.png)

## Put Your Flyer at the Heart of the Page

Your flyer is the first thing a buyer sees, so the page is built around it. Add it and Ticket Fairy builds a matching background from it, so the whole page looks like your artwork with no design work. The same flyer goes beside every shared link, so use the version with the line-up on it.

Wide landscape artwork of your own can replace the automatic background whenever you have it. A tall flyer stretched across a wide page looks worse than the background Ticket Fairy builds from it, so keep the automatic one unless your own artwork was made for the width.

Where your brand is the draw, your transparent logo can stand at the top of the page in place of the event name. Without it, the page sets the event name in standard type that stays clear on phones and desktops.

- **Flyer**: on your event page and beside every shared link
- **Matching background**: built from your flyer with no design work
- **Your logo as the event name**: a transparent logo at the top of the page

- [Add your flyer and description to your event page](https://www.ticketfairy.com/guides/design-your-event-page)

## Answer Buyers' Questions in Your Description

Your description covers the line-up, the door times, the age rule and how to get there, with headings, lists and links. Those are the questions buyers would otherwise email you. A short description, the one line that appears in listings and beside a shared link, names the act or the night where the full text does not fit.

Selling to buyers in more than one language? Each language on your event gets its own description and its own flyer. A poster with English text on it no longer follows a Spanish buyer around.

Ask Fai, the assistant inside your dashboard, to draft the description from the line-up, door times, age rule and travel details you give her, or to translate your English description into another language. She sets the short description herself once you approve it, and hands you the full description to paste into the card.

- **Event description**: headings, lists and links for everything buyers ask
- **Short description**: the line in listings and shared links
- **A page in each language**: its own wording and flyer for every language

## Group Your FAQs the Way Buyers Look for Them

Doors, age limits, parking and bag rules come up before every show. Your event page answers them in sections buyers recognise, such as General Questions and Getting Here, in the order buyers ask. The page shows each section as a heading under the event details, so buyers read the answer before they reach for their email.

Waiting on an answer, such as the shuttle times or the bag policy? Keep the question private on your FAQs page, off the event page, and make it public the moment the answer is settled. A section has its own Public switch too, and a section that is off shows nothing, however many of its questions are public.

Already keep a know-before-you-go sheet? Import from document accepts it as a Word file, a PDF, a photo or a text file. Ticket Fairy reads the sections and questions out of it, and everything it adds waits with Public switched off until you have read it. Fai can do the same from a photo of your sheet or text you paste to her, and she can reword, reorder, rename or delete questions once you approve each change.

- **FAQ sections**: a heading on your event page for each group
- **Private questions**: ready on your FAQs page, off the event page
- **Import from document**: questions read from the sheet you already have

## Show Buyers the Right Ticket and a Way Back In

Buyers see your flyer, the line-up, the date, the age rule and the venue with Show location on map, then your FAQs, and Add to Calendar saves the date for them. Your tickets sit under the headings you choose, such as days or areas, each with its price and whether that price includes fees. Buyers enter a [promo code](https://www.ticketfairy.com/event-ticketing/event-promo-codes), see a payment plan from its first payment and add the extras for their tickets without leaving the page.

Before your on-sale, each ticket shows a Sales start in countdown so buyers know when to come back. When a ticket sells out, it shows Sold Out and Join Wait List, and a buyer who missed out chooses the ticket type and how many they want. When tickets come back, the buyers waiting get the first offer, so you keep demand you would otherwise lose.

A buyer who returns to the page sees You have a ticket to this event, with a link to their tickets. Run referral rewards and the page explains how a buyer earns money back when friends buy through their link, and a friend who opens that link sees who invited them. A buyer who opens a finished event is offered Go to event for your next edition, or View events for the other dates in your series.

- **Venue, map and calendar**: the address, the map and Add to Calendar
- **Ticket categories**: tickets grouped under the headings you choose
- **Join Wait List**: demand captured where a ticket sold out
- **Next edition**: last year's visitors sent to this year's event

## Open the Page at the Minute You Announce

Your on-sale time is announced in the event's own timezone, and your team is not always at a keyboard when it arrives. Schedule the publish date and time once, and Ticket Fairy makes the event page public within that minute. Until then the page stays hidden and nothing is on sale, so the announcement and the page land together.

Set your ticket sale windows to the same moment, and the page and the sale open together. Before it goes live, the publish review walks you through the event details, the tickets and add-ons, and your payment and support details, so nothing is missing when the first buyer arrives. Plans change, so a scheduled time can move or be cancelled until the moment it arrives.

- **Schedule Publish**: the page public at the time you announce
- **Your event's timezone**: the time your buyers were told
- **Publish review**: details, tickets, payment and support checked first

- [Schedule when your event goes live](https://www.ticketfairy.com/guides/schedule-when-your-event-goes-live)

![Ticket Fairy Schedule Publish dialog, with the date and time the event page goes public](https://www.ticketfairy.com/embeds/posters/marketing-event-publish--schedule-publish-dialog.png)

## Get Found by Buyers Looking for Something to Do

Buyers who do not know your name yet search for what is on this weekend, in their city or at a venue they like. Every public event page carries the details Google reads for its event results: the name, the date, the venue and its address, and your ticket prices. Your public events also appear in Ticket Fairy search, on the city pages that list what is on, and on the page of the venue they are at.

Your event page links back to its city and its venue, so a buyer reading about your night finds more of your events, and a buyer browsing the city finds yours. Claim your venue's page and add the details visitors ask about, such as how to get there and what to expect at the door.

Fans who text the Ticket Fairy event scout in iMessage, and say what they are in the mood for, get recommendations that match their taste, yours among them. AI shopping assistants read the same public events, so a buyer who asks one what is on can be offered your event at your prices and with your ticket rules.

- **Google event results**: date, venue, address and prices described for Google

## See Where Visitors Come From and Start the Next Edition

The Traffic report shows how many people opened the page each day, how many reached the order confirmation, the languages and devices they used and the sites that sent them. A promoter choosing where to spend the next marketing budget can see which sites bring visitors who buy. When the event is over, a duplicate starts the next edition with the same description, artwork and FAQs.

Referrer URL lists every site that sent visits, with Facebook, Instagram and Google each folded into one name. Visits through a buyer's referral link or a promoter link count as Referral Visits, so you can tell word of mouth from your own posts. Copy table puts any table on your clipboard for a spreadsheet, and Fai answers questions about the figures for any date range you give her.

The FAQ sections and questions can come with the description and artwork, ready for the details that moved, so your next edition has its event page ready to publish once the dates and line-up change.

## How Organisers Use Their Event Pages

- ### A Club Night Every Saturday

A promoter duplicates last week's event, swaps the flyer and the line-up and schedules the page for Monday at noon. The FAQs about dress code and last entry come with it, so the inbox stays quiet and the page goes live while the team is at the venue.
- ### A Festival Selling to Several Countries

A festival gives its Spanish and German buyers their own description and a flyer with their own wording. A Getting Here section imported from last year's info sheet answers the shuttle and camping questions before the first email arrives.
- ### A Theatre Run

A theatre groups its tickets under Stalls and Circle and uses Add to Calendar to keep buyers coming back. When the Saturday matinee sells out, Join Wait List collects the buyers who missed out, and returned seats go to them first.
- ### A Conference With a Long Agenda

A conference team keeps the venue, the agenda and the accessibility details in FAQ sections, holds back the parking answer until the car park is confirmed, and reads the Traffic report to see that LinkedIn sends the visitors who register.
- ### A Venue Building Its Audience

A music venue claims its venue page and adds directions and door rules. Every public show it runs appears on that page and on its city page, so buyers who love the room find the next night without searching for each act.

## Questions About Event Pages

### Event pages

#### Who can change the event page?

You need to be an owner or an admin of the event. Promoter and door logins do not see the event form, and customer support logins can read the FAQs page but cannot change it.

#### What size should my flyer be?

1200 by 1600 pixels. A background of your own is 1920 by 1080 pixels. The card states the size beside each upload area.

#### How long can the short description be?

100 characters. It appears in listings and beside a shared link, where the full description does not fit.

#### Why does my page look different from my flyer?

Ticket Fairy builds the background from your flyer unless you upload your own background and switch off Use automatically-generated background.

#### What files can the FAQ import read?

A Word file, a PDF, a photo or a text file up to 15 MB. If it cannot read the document, it tells you it found no questions and adds nothing, so you can try a clearer file or add the questions yourself.

#### Can two FAQ sections have the same name?

No. Each section needs its own name, and the dialog tells you before you save. Deleting a section deletes the questions in it, and the confirmation tells you how many.

#### Will my event publish at the exact time I choose?

Ticket Fairy checks once a minute, so an event scheduled for 10:00 normally opens between 10:00 and 10:01 in the event's timezone. You can schedule at least fifteen minutes ahead. Publishing makes the page public, and a ticket type with its own sale window still waits for that window. A scheduled publish does not send promoter links.

#### Which events can appear in Google's event results?

Public events with a date, a city, a venue and its street address. Password-protected, invitation-only and NFT-only events, online events and events with a hidden date or venue are left out. Google decides what it shows and when.

#### Which events appear on city and venue pages?

Public events with a venue in that city. Password-protected and invitation-only events are not listed.

#### What do buyers see before my tickets go on sale?

A Sales start in countdown on each ticket. While you take pre-registrations, the page shows Pre-Registration Open instead.
