Give Your Fans Prizes That Keep Them Selling Tickets

Cash back gives every buyer a reason to share their link once. A front row upgrade, signed merch or a table for the group gives your biggest fans a reason to keep sharing it right up to the event. You choose the prize, what a fan does to win it and when it is decided. Ticket Fairy follows every fan's progress, tells each winner, and keeps the record of who won, why and whether they have their prize yet.

  • Fans sharing until the prize is won
  • Winners picked or drawn fairly
  • Every prize followed until it is delivered

Choose the Prize, What Earns It and When It Is Decided

Name the prize and describe it the way your fans will read it, add a picture, then choose a ticket upgrade, merch, an experience, a VIP table or something else. Decide whether fans see it from pre-registration, from the presale or once tickets are on sale. Then choose the moment it is decided: as soon as a fan reaches it, when ticket sales end, when the event starts, when pre-registration closes or at a date and time you set.

A ticket upgrade moves the winner onto a better ticket type on the same event, so you choose the ticket it upgrades to. Merch, an experience or a VIP table is something you hand over yourself, and the Winners list keeps track of it until you do.

Under Advanced, count only part of the run with Dates that count, cap the winners with Limit how many you give out, and ask each winner for what you need before you can send the prize, such as a T-shirt size or a postal address.

  • Prize types: ticket upgrades, merch, experiences, VIP tables or something else
  • Show it from: pre-registration, the presale or the on-sale
  • When it is awarded: as soon as a fan reaches it, or at a moment you choose
Ticket Fairy Add a prize dialog asking what the prize is, when fans see it, who earns it and when it is awarded

Reward the Fans Who Do the Most for Your Event

Award a prize for the tickets a fan referred, the friends they brought, a place on the referral leaderboard, pre-registration points or check-ins. Run a prize across your brand for the fans who refer across all your events or come to several of them. A prize for a number goes to every fan who reaches it, and a prize for a place goes to the top fans at the moment you set, so you can reward steady sharers and race for first place on the same event.

Pick the way of winning that matches what you want more of. Tickets they referred rewards volume. Friends they brought rewards new faces, because a friend who buys four tickets counts once. Pre-registration points reward the fans who build your list before the on-sale, and check-ins reward the fans who turn up.

Turn on Count friends of friends towards prizes on the Rewards page, and every ticket bought down a chain of referrals counts towards the first fan's prizes, not only the tickets their own friends bought. The cash back on a fan's own ticket still comes from the tickets their own friends buy.

  • Ways to win: referrals, friends brought, leaderboard places, pre-registration points and check-ins
  • Brand prizes: for fans who refer or come along across your events
  • Friends of friends: every ticket down the chain counts for the first fan

Give Sharing a Push With Boosts and Packs

Add a boost and what fans do counts for more towards prizes between two times you set, such as double referrals over a launch weekend or a final-week push. Turn on packs and friends start a pack with a join code, pool the tickets they refer and chase a prize together, such as a table for the group, while each of them keeps their own standing and their own prizes.

The Packs tab gives one row per pack, with its people, tickets, friends brought and its place against the other packs. Open any pack to see who is in it, what each person referred and when they joined. A fan who leaves a pack keeps anything the pack won while they were in it.

  • Boosts: what fans do counts for more between two times you set
  • Packs: friends pool their referrals to win together
  • Join codes: fans start and join their own packs

Show Every Fan How Close They Are to Winning

The page a buyer sees after paying, and their order, show what their sharing has earned: their place among everybody sharing your event, the friends who bought through their link, the people who came through those friends and each prize with how far they are from it or what they have won. Fans in a pack see their pack's total and place, and a boost shows when every referral counts for more.

Your rewards in a buyer's account gathers their standing across all your events, with their standing with each brand and a gold, silver or bronze badge for the fans at the top of a brand. Every number a fan sees is the one you see in Influencers and Winners, so a fan who asks why they have not won gets the same answer from your team as from their own order.

  • Fans' own standings: each buyer's place and progress on their order page
  • What you can win: each prize and how close they are
  • Brand badges: gold, silver and bronze for your top fans

Pick or Draw Winners You Can Stand Behind

For a prize you judge yourself, such as best costume on the night, search your buyers by name and give it to the person who won, with a note saying why. For a giveaway, draw winners at random from every buyer who has paid. You read the names and how many buyers were in the draw before anybody wins, and draw again as often as you like. Every draw is kept, so your team can see how a winner was chosen.

  • Pick the winner: name the buyer you already know won, with a note why
  • Draw a winner: at random from every buyer who has paid
  • Draw again: nobody wins until you give the prizes out
Ticket Fairy Draw a winner dialog with how many buyers were in the draw, the names it came up with and the buttons to draw again or give the prizes out

Hand Every Prize Out and Keep the Record Straight

Every win lands on the Winners tab of Influencers, with the winner, the prize and why they won. A win waits on the winner while they answer your questions, then sits ready to hand over until you mark it as delivered. Undo puts a delivery back, and Cancel takes back a win that should not stand and asks you why. Every delivery, undo and cancelled win stays in that winner's history, with who did it and when.

A prize that runs across your brand reports its wins on the brand's own Winners page, so the team handing out brand prizes works from one list. A winner who drops below the target after the prize was judged keeps it, and Winners marks the row so you can see what happened.

  • Winners list: waiting on the winner, ready to hand over, delivered or cancelled
  • Ask winners for: the details you need to send each prize
  • Full history: every delivery, undo and cancellation, with who and why

Remind Fans Who Are One Step From a Prize

The Reminders tab lists, for each prize won by reaching a number, how many buyers are one step away. Send them a reminder with the standard wording or add a note of your own, and a fan who needs one more friend to buy gets the push to send their link again. Buyers who have already won, asked you not to contact them or turned prize updates off are left out, and every reminder is kept with who sent it, when and how many buyers it reached.

  • Send a reminder: to the buyers one step from a prize
  • Your own note: added to the standard wording, or left out
  • Reminders sent: who sent each one, when and how many it reached

Send Prize Emails in Your Own Look and Voice

Winners get an email when they win, another when their prize is on its way and a reminder to claim it. Give those emails your picture, your colours for buttons, background and words, and your own sign-off, with a preview as you go. Under How these emails sound, describe the tone in your own words or start from Warm, Straight to the point, Playful or Formal, and list the words you use for your fans and the words you never use.

Set the look and the voice once on your brand's Rewards page and every event follows them, or give one event a look and a voice of its own. Ask Fai, the assistant inside your dashboard, to add a prize, set up a boost, draw a winner, mark a prize delivered or send a reminder. She shows you the change, or the names a draw came up with and how many buyers a reminder would reach, and waits for your approval.

  • Rewards emails: your picture, colours and sign-off
  • How these emails sound: your tone in your own words, or a preset to start from
  • Ask Fai: prizes, draws and reminders, each approved by you

How Organisers Run Fan Prizes

  • A Festival Racing for a VIP Table

A festival offers a VIP table to the pack that refers the most tickets by the day sales end, with a boost over the launch weekend. Groups of friends share hard in the first days, and the Packs tab shows which group is closest as the deadline nears.

  • A Club Night Upgrade for Every Fifth Friend

A club promoter gives a ticket upgrade to every fan who refers five tickets, awarded as soon as they reach it. Fans see their progress on their order, and a reminder to the fans one step away brings in a late wave of sales.

  • A Theatre Run Rewarding Regulars

A theatre runs a brand prize for fans who come to several shows in the season, with signed merch for the winners. The brand's Winners page lists who is owed a prize, and the team marks each one delivered as it is handed over.

  • A Presale Built on Pre-Registration Points

A promoter shows a meet-and-greet from pre-registration and awards it to every fan who reaches a points target when pre-registration closes. Fans build the list before the on-sale, and the winners know before the first ticket sells.

  • A Giveaway on the Night

A venue draws two winners at random from every paying buyer for a backstage tour, reads the names and confirms them. The draw is kept with the win, so the team can show how the winners were chosen.

Questions About Fan Prizes

Prizes & draws

Twenty at a time on each event and on each brand. Remove one before you add the twenty-first. Fans who already won a prize you remove keep it.

Every buyer who has paid for a ticket on the event, or on any of the brand's events for a brand prize. Each buyer goes in once, however many tickets they bought, and a buyer who already holds the prize is left out. One draw picks up to 25 winners, and never more than you have left of the prize.

No. A boost makes what fans do count for more towards prizes, between 1.5 and 5 times, and the cash back on a fan's own ticket comes from your reward tiers alone. Counting friends of friends works the same way.

Both of them, and everybody else level with them. Set Limit how many you give out when you have a fixed number to give away.

A place moves every time another fan sells a ticket, so third place only means something at a stated moment. A prize for a number reached, such as five tickets referred, can be awarded the moment a fan gets there.

One reminder about each prize every 7 days. One reminder reaches at most 500 buyers, and you can reach the rest with the next one. A prize decided by a place has no reminder.

You can change its name, description, picture, type, the ticket an upgrade goes to, when fans see it and what you ask winners for. What earns it, the target, the moment it is judged, the dates that count and the winner limit stay as they were, because the people who won were told why they won.

No. An upgrade moves one person onto a better ticket, and a draw picks one buyer at a time. Give a pack merch, an experience, a VIP table or something else, with a target it can reach.

The email says they have won and what they won. It does not say whether you named them or drew them, so tell your buyers yourself where a draw is part of what you promised.

You need an owner or admin login on the event, or on the brand for a brand prize. With a Stats or Limited Stats login you can read the prizes and the winners but change nothing, and neither login shows a winner's email address.
