***We caught up with the French dance music icon to talk about his new single on Adesso Music, the evolution of his music over the years, and his vision for what’s next.***

A cornerstone of the French dance music scene, Antoine Clamaran has been the fundamental force in bringing house music to the forefront of French club culture, championing the genre at a time when it was still bubbling under the surface. Rising to prominence in the ’90s with residencies at Paris’ legendary clubs Palace and Queen, co-hosting iconic nights alongside the likes of Laurent Garnier and David Guetta, Antoine has firmly established his name as one of his country’s prime tastemakers.

His early work in the Parisian underground evolved into a series of successful releases that showcased his dynamic range, from funky and filtered French house to peak-time anthems that tore up dancefloors across Europe. Over the years, tracks like ‘Gold,’ ‘Get Up,’ and ‘Release Yourself’ became club staples, while his collaborations and remixes earned him recognition on an international scale. A co-founder of the Pool E Music label, Clamaran provided a platform for quality electronic music, pushing both new and established talent while staying true to his sonic identity.

Following a recent hiatus, Clamaran returned to his house roots with a renewed sense of purpose. Releases on respected labels like Toolroom Trax, HouseU, and his own imprints Clap Production and Pool E Music have marked a triumphant return, reminding us of his unmatched ability to craft infectious records. Now, he adds another milestone to his illustrious career with his debut on Junior Jack’s Adesso Music label.

A master of groove, Antoine Clamaran seamlessly blends percussive fanfare with powerful basslines on his new single ‘Para Para.’ Chopped Spanish vocals weave amongst the drummy groove to provide an irresistible dancefloor hook, showcasing the kind of club-ready energy that has defined his sound for decades, yet still feels entirely fresh.

We caught up with Clamaran to dive deeper into ‘Para Para,’ reflect on his enduring influence on the French house music movement, and hear what’s next in store for this pioneering force in global dance music.

**TFword: Let’s start with the latest drop. ‘Para Para’ is such a percussive, groove-heavy banger. What inspired the track, and how did it come together creatively?** **Antoine Clamaran**: I’ve felt the urge for a while now to return to the kind of sound I was producing in the early 2000s — tracks like *Dr Drums*, *Supalá*, and so on. *Para Para* is, for me, a natural continuation of that era — a true return to my roots. It’s an instinctive, percussive track with a raw energy that reminds me of how I started.

**TF: The chopped Spanish vocals in ‘Para Para’ are a standout element. What drew you to this vocal style, and how did it shape the track’s direction?** **Antoine Clamaran**: The vocal is actually in Portuguese! I wanted to try something new and step out of my comfort zone. That choice immediately gave the track a different flavor and helped shape the overall vibe of the production.

**TF: This is your debut on Junior Jack’s Adesso Music. What made this label the right home for ‘Para Para’?** **Antoine Clamaran**: Adesso is a label I’ve been following and admiring for a while. Like many producers, I simply sent in a demo — and they responded quickly and enthusiastically. That gave me a lot of confidence in the collaboration.

**TF: From your early days at Paris’ Palace and Queen to now releasing on Adesso Music, how would you describe your sonic evolution over the decades?** **Antoine Clamaran**: The transition from vinyl to digital was already a major shift. Then came social media, which changed the game again. But for me, the biggest change was the role reversal in the scene: back then, DJs became producers — today, producers become DJs. That shift had a big impact on how music is made and how artists build their identities.

**TF: After your recent hiatus, you’ve leaned back into your house roots. What inspired that return, and how do you approach production now compared to back in the 90s and 2000s?** **Antoine Clamaran**: This return felt almost inevitable. I really wanted to reconnect with the sounds that made me excited in the beginning. Of course, the tools have changed, but the drive is still the same. These days, I produce with more perspective, but I still chase that same groove and immediate impact.

**TF: Your music has always carried a distinct groove. How do you keep your sound fresh while staying true to your signature?** **Antoine Clamaran**: I think it comes down to how the tracks are built — the structure — but also the choice of sounds, especially the percussive elements. I like to experiment, but never lose sight of what defines my style.

**TF: You’ve been on a strong run with releases on Toolroom, HouseU, and your own labels. How do you plan to keep evolving your sound in the months ahead?** **Antoine Clamaran**: Since the beginning of electronic music, it’s been technology that’s pushed things forward — synthesizers, drum machines, samplers, computers… I just let it guide me. It constantly opens up new creative doors.

**TF: Do you see yourself exploring other genres or tempos in the near future, or is house where your heart firmly lies right now?** **Antoine Clamaran**: I sometimes produce tracks for other artists, which lets me explore different styles. But when it comes to my own music, I stick to a range that I know, that I’ve mastered, and most importantly, that I love.

**TF: In a world of ever-changing trends and tech, how do you think dance music can evolve further by reconnecting with its roots?** **Antoine Clamaran**: Music is often cyclical. Just look at techno right now — it’s making a big comeback, even though it was almost out of the spotlight a few years ago. I think the first step, when you make music, is to do it for yourself — and then share it with others.
