The upcoming “multi-staged sound of the south” event is also co-presented by Dunedin-based music promotions company Distorted Promotions. Southern Sounds will take place on Saturday, September 10, 2022, at the Kensington Oval recreation grounds in Dunedin, New Zealand. UK drum and bass artists Culture Shock, Mozey, and the recently added Simula and Urbandawn are among those headlining the show. The show was announced in June 2022, and pre-registrations for the event [surpassed](https://www.instagram.com/p/CevLXFUvcN2/?hl=en)3500 within days of the announcement. Meanwhile, tickets for the early bird and general release were sold out within the first week. And we can see why! The event’s lineup includes some of the most well-known DJs and record producers in the DnB genre, along with the finest musical talents in Aotearoa. Since their founding in 2019, they have released four singles and plan to roll out an EP later this year. [‘Caroline’](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O8X31IcriN0) is the band’s 2021 release, which is also their most recent. We reached out to Chump Change to talk about their forthcoming performance. They said, “A great opportunity for us as a band to play on the main stage with some big international acts. **We’re super grateful and excited to play in front of a big crowd.**”  Hot Sauce Club, a Dunedin-based indie rock and funk band, will also perform at the event. https://www.instagram.com/p/ChO2RjGLcCp/?hl=en Ryan Dickinson and Ultan Burke, a house duo, have made quite a splash since their beginnings. Known as OTÔSAN’, their music is known for fusing classic house grooves with modern vocals. This performance at Dunedin will sadly also be their last. “We can’t wait to play this show this weekend. I’m sure it’s gonna be such a vibe, and what a way to wrap up a 5-year journey for us. We have had our music played on rotation on radio stations such as George FM, Triple J, BBC Radio 1, and Sirius XM over in the US,” said OTÔSAN, when we asked about their upcoming final performance at Southern Sounds. They added, “**We’ve had childhood heroes such as Tiesto in our DM’s and got to work with great friends such as Marten Hørger, Dave Winnel, and Shaun Warner on releases,** not to mention the incredibly diverse selection of vocalists who have lent their vocals to us across many releases.” However, Dickinson and Burke assured us and their fans that they are not finished yet. The duo exclaimed, “Buuuuuut, we are not disappearing as Ryan is pushing forward with his incredible new alias dupree. Bus services to the Southern Sounds Festival are available from the University of Otago in Dunedin, beginning at the 720 Cumberland Street Bus Stop. On the day of the festival, the limited capacity buses run every half hour from 1 PM to 4 PM, with a return journey costing USD 8 (NZD 13.26).
