Solving event ticketing problems

# Can ticket buyers join your email list automatically?

A ticket buyer who opts in at checkout joins the email platform you already use, with no list to export. A promoter building an audience for the next event connects that platform once for the brand, chooses the audience buyers join, and tells buyers at checkout what they will receive.

Yes. Connect your email platform once, and every buyer who opts in joins the audience you choose after checkout, while a buyer who later opts out comes off it.

For: Sending campaigns to the people who buy your tickets

Takes: 3 minutes

Yes. Instead of exporting a spreadsheet after every on-sale, connect your email platform to your brand. Buyers who agree to hear from you join the audience you choose after checkout, and Ticket Fairy removes them from that audience if they later opt out.

The connection starts with new purchases. Export and import existing subscribers once when you want them in the same audience. Ticket Fairy updates the audience after checkout, so a slow response from the email platform does not delay payment.

Revenue reporting depends on the platform. Mailchimp reports orders that came from one of your campaigns, while Klaviyo can receive every paid order when ticket revenue sync is on.

## How Ticket Fairy helps

- ### [One connection for the whole brand](https://www.ticketfairy.com/guides/sync-buyers-to-mailchimp)

Connect once and buyers from every event under the brand can join the same audience. An event that already has its own list keeps using it until you remove that choice.
- ### [Keep subscriptions up to date](https://www.ticketfairy.com/guides/sync-buyers-to-mailchimp)

Agreeing to hear from you adds a buyer. Opting out in Ticket Fairy removes them from the connected audience.
- ### Revenue reporting in the platform you connect

Mailchimp reports orders that came from one of your campaigns. Klaviyo can receive a paid-order event even when the buyer arrived another way. In both cases the buyer sync is separate from the sale report.
- ### Checkout stays fast

Your buyer finishes paying before the connected audience is updated, so another platform responding slowly never delays the sale.

## Set it up

- [Connect the platform to your brand](#step-1)
- [Choose the audience for ticket buyers](#step-2)
- [Check that a test buyer reaches the audience](#step-3)

## Before you start

- You're an owner, an admin, or on the marketing team for the brand.
- You have an account with the email platform you want to connect, and permission there to create an audience.
- You ask buyers at checkout whether they want to hear from you. Only buyers who agree are added.

1. ## Connect the platform to your brand

Open your brand, select **Integrations**, then connect the platform you already send campaigns from. Each platform's card offers a sign-in button, an API key field or both, and either one reaches the same sync settings.

**Note:** Say in your checkout opt-in what you will send and how often. Only buyers who agree there are added.

2. ## Choose the audience for ticket buyers

Under **Sync settings**, choose the audience ticket buyers join. Buyers and your newsletter subscribers can share one audience, so everyone who hears from you sits in one list.

**Note:** Buyers who paid before you connected are not added. Export the customers who already opted in and import them into the same audience once.
![Marketing integration audience picker and automatic sync settings](https://www.ticketfairy.com/embeds/posters/marketing-platform--manage-audience.png) Manage Connection, with the destination audience and sync choices in one place.
3. ## Check that a test buyer reaches the audience

Buy a test ticket with an address you control and agree at checkout to hear from the brand, then open the audience in your email platform. The contact appears within a few minutes.

**Tip:** Send your first campaign to a small group and confirm it went to the audience you chose.

## Try these steps on your own event

Create a free account, build your event and follow the steps above in your own dashboard. It takes a few minutes and you do not need to book a sales call.

No setup fees. No required monthly ticketing fee. No credit card required.

## Or have it done for you

Fai, the assistant inside your dashboard, can show which email platforms your brand can connect, choose the audience once a connection exists, change the sync settings and disconnect it later. Connect the platform in the dashboard under brand settings, using its sign-in button or API key form. Keep an API key in that form rather than in a message to Fai. She asks before she changes a sync because buyer details can start going to the platform.

### In your dashboard, with Fai

Show me which email platforms this brand can connect and which are connected already. For the connected one, show me the audiences I can pick and what the sync settings are now.

## Let Fai do it for you

Fai works inside your Ticket Fairy dashboard. Create your account, open Fai and paste the prompt above.

## Questions you might have

Which email marketing platforms can I connect?: Mailchimp and Klaviyo. Your Integrations page shows the providers available for your brand and the connection choices each one supports.

What happens when a subscriber opts out?: An opt-out made in Ticket Fairy is sent to your email platform. If a subscriber unsubscribes there, keep them unsubscribed when you import or update your audience.

Will my campaign reports show ticket revenue?: It depends on the platform. Mailchimp reports the orders that came through one of your campaigns. Klaviyo can receive every paid order, including direct and referral ones, once you turn ticket revenue sync on.
