# Choose how your buyers share your event

Promoters whose ticket sales come from buyers telling their friends want that moment after checkout to do as much as it can. You decide what a buyer starts with, where they can send it, and whether the card they share is built from your artwork or drawn for them, and every buyer gets the same offer without you touching a single order.

Set the message your buyers start with, the apps they can share to, and the share card each of them gets, from the Rewards page.

For: Turning word of mouth into ticket sales

Takes: 6 minutes

- [Open Rewards](#step-1)
- [Enter the message buyers share with](#step-2)
- [Choose your own list of apps](#step-3)
- [What a buyer shares](#step-4)
- [Untick the apps you do not want](#step-5)
- [Have a card drawn for each buyer](#step-6)
- [Choose the look](#step-7)
- [Say how many drawn cards the event pays for](#step-8)
- [Save the sharing settings](#step-9)

## Before you start

- You have an owner or admin login for the event. For the brand's monthly budget and default look you need an owner or admin login for the brand instead.
- Prizes are switched on for your brand, because Rewards sits beside Prizes and opens under the same rule.
- Referrals are on for the event, so your buyers have a link to share.

1. ## Open Rewards

Open your event and select **Rewards**. Each section saves on its own, so a change under **Sharing** never moves your cash back or your prizes.
![The Rewards page for an event, with the referral link, cash back, prizes, packs and sharing sections, each with its own Save changes](https://www.ticketfairy.com/embeds/posters/marketing-rewards--event-rewards.png) Rewards.
2. ## Enter the message buyers share with

Under **Sharing**, enter **Message buyers share with their link**: up to 280 characters of plain words, with the count shown under the field. Leave it empty and buyers get our standard wording.

**Note:** Their personal link is added after the message, so the message does not need to carry it.
3. ## Choose your own list of apps

Open **Where buyers can share** and turn off **Offer every app (recommended)**. A grid of every app we support appears, and the picture below shows one part-way through being chosen.

**Note:** Leave the switch on and buyers see every app, on a computer or on a phone. Text message, Phone share sheet, Instagram Stories and TikTok are marked **(phones only)**, because a computer has nothing to hand the link to.
![The Sharing section of the Rewards page, with the message field, the list of apps buyers can share to and the drawn-card controls](https://www.ticketfairy.com/embeds/posters/marketing-rewards--sharing.png) Rewards, Sharing.

## What a buyer shares

Every buyer gets a share card built from your event artwork, with your message and their link, on the page they see after paying and in their order. A drawn card is on top of that: a picture made for that buyer in the look you choose, and each one costs your brand a small amount from its monthly budget.

4. ## Untick the apps you do not want

In the grid, untick each app your buyers should not be offered. What stays ticked is what they see after they buy.

**Note:** Untick every app and a **Copy link only** callout{prizes.rewardsPage.sharing.channels.copyLinkOnly} tells you that buyers can still copy their link and share it however they like.
5. ## Have a card drawn for each buyer

Open **Share cards** and turn on **Draw a personalised share card for each buyer**. Each drawing costs your brand a small amount, taken from its monthly budget.
6. ## Choose the look

Under **Look**, choose **Use the brand's default look**, which names the look the brand has now, or one of **Poster** (bold shapes and strong silhouettes like a gig poster), **Neon** (a night-time glow with light trails and deep shadow), **Collage** (torn paper edges and printed textures) and **Dream** (soft painted gradients and gentle light).

**Note:** A look chosen here stays with the event when the brand's default changes later.
7. ## Say how many drawn cards the event pays for

Enter **Most cards this event pays for**, a whole number up to 10,000; until you enter one the field says it is using the standard number, 500 cards, and **Use the standard number** takes you back to it. A 0 stops new drawings without switching the cards off, and a warning under the switch then says no card will be drawn until the number is above 0.

**Note:** **Drawn so far** under the field counts the cards drawn on this event, and the brand's monthly budget is the other limit: the same warning names it when it is 0, and when it runs out buyers keep getting the card built from your artwork until the next calendar month or a higher budget.
8. ## Save the sharing settings

Select **Save changes** at the foot of the Sharing section. The next buyer gets what you set.

**Note:** A buyer who bought before you saved keeps the card they already have. Their link and your message update the next time they open their order.

## Set the brand's monthly budget and default look

Drawn cards are paid for by the brand, across every event it runs, so the budget and the look an event falls back to are set on the brand's own Rewards page.

1. ### Open the brand's Rewards page

Open your brand and select **Rewards**. Its one section, **Share cards**, carries the budget, **Spent this month** for this calendar month, and the default look.
![The Rewards page for a brand, with the Share cards section showing the monthly budget, what has been spent this month and the default look](https://www.ticketfairy.com/embeds/posters/marketing-rewards--brand-rewards.png) Brand, Rewards, Share cards.
2. ### Enter the monthly budget

Enter the **Monthly budget** in whole units of the brand's currency, which the label names. It covers drawn cards on every event in the brand for the calendar month.

**Note:** Until you enter an amount the field says it is using the standard budget and names it, and **Use the standard budget** takes you back to it. Enter 0 to pause drawings for the month.
3. ### Choose the default look

Under **Default look**, choose the look your events draw with.

**Note:** An event that chose its own look keeps it. The default reaches the events that never chose one.
4. ### Save the brand settings

Select **Save changes**. Every change here and on an event's Rewards page appears in the activity log.

Fai can read the brand's budget, spend and default look, and change the budget and the look after you confirm the amount.

### In your dashboard, with Fai

Set this brand's monthly budget for drawn share cards to 80 dollars and make Collage the default look

## Questions you might have

Who can change how buyers share?: Owners and admins on the event, and owners and admins on the brand for its budget and default look. A **Stats** or **Limited Stats** login reads the page and changes nothing on it.

Which apps do buyers see if I never choose?: All of them, in the order they suit a buyer on a computer or on a phone, with Copy link last. **Offer every app (recommended)** stays on until you turn it off, and choosing apps only ever takes some away.

I unticked every app. Can buyers still share?: Yes. Copy link stays, and the **Copy link only** callout says so, so a buyer pastes their link wherever they like. Nothing you set here stops a buyer earning their cash back or counting towards a prize.

Does every buyer get a card?: Yes. Every buyer gets a card built from your event artwork, at no cost. A drawn card is the extra you switch on, and a buyer whose card cannot be drawn still gets the first one.

The page says no card will be drawn. Why?: Drawn cards are on, but either **Most cards this event pays for** is 0 or the brand's monthly budget is 0. The warning names which. Raise it and the next buyer's card is drawn.

An event chose its own look. Does the brand default change it?: No. A look chosen on the event stays until you choose **Use the brand's default look** there. The default reaches only the events that never chose one.

Does changing the message change what my earlier buyers shared?: No. What they already sent stays as they sent it. The new message is what a buyer starts with from now on, on the confirmation page and in their order.
