# Claim your venue's page on Ticket Fairy

A venue's page on Ticket Fairy is often the first thing a promoter or a ticket buyer reads about the place, and until it is claimed nobody at the venue can change a word of it. When you claim it, you prove you act for the venue and get a brand of your own to look after it.

Takes: 6 minutes

## Before you start

- You need an email address at your venue's own website domain. We send the code only to that domain, and the venue's page shows you which one it is.
- You don't need a Ticket Fairy account yet. When you claim the page, you create one, together with a brand for the venue.
- Your venue already has a page here, under its city. The page costs nothing and stays free whether or not you sell tickets with us.

1. ## Open your venue's page on Ticket Fairy
    [Play from here](#guide-video)
Your venue's page sits on ticketfairy.com under its city, at an address such as ticketfairy.com/london/corsica-studios. Open it and scroll past what the page already says about the place, to where it asks whether you run the venue.
2. ## Enter your email address at the venue's own domain
    [Play from here](#guide-video)
The page shows the domain it accepts, which is the venue's own website. Enter an address on that domain and select **Send me a code**.

**Note:** An address on a subdomain of that domain counts too, so bookings@mail.yourvenue.com proves as much as bookings@yourvenue.com.
3. ## Enter the six digits from the email
    [Play from here](#guide-video)
We send the code to the address you gave, and it works for 15 minutes. Enter the six digits and select **Confirm code**.

**Note:** You get five tries with each code, and if you ask for a new one, the old one stops working.
**Tip:** A venue mailbox is often shared, so the email says which venue's page the code is for.
4. ## Say what you do at the venue
    [Play from here](#guide-video)
The page says "Thanks. This page is yours to manage. We will set you up with an account next." and asks what you do there. Select **I run the venue, or I am responsible for its business** or **I work with the team there**.

**Note:** Either answer lets you change what the venue's page says. Running the venue makes you the venue's owner and your brand's owner; working with the team makes you an admin on both and leaves your brand without an owner until you invite whoever runs the venue.
**Tip:** You can add your name and job title beside your answer, in your own words, or leave both empty.
5. ## Create your account
    [Play from here](#guide-video)
Select **Create your account**. Ticket Fairy takes your claim to the dashboard and opens sign-up, showing the venue you claimed so you know you've got the right one.

**Note:** The venue belongs to the brand you create when you sign up as an event organizer. The link that takes you to the dashboard works once and lasts ten minutes; if you lose it, ask for a new code from your venue's page and go through the steps again.
6. ## Open Venues in your new brand
    [Play from here](#guide-video)
Your new brand lists the venue under **Venues**. Select **Open** beside it to change what its page says.

## Questions you might have

**What if I do not own the venue?**

You can still claim the page. Tell us you work with the team there, and you get the admin role on the venue and on the brand, and your brand has no owner until you invite whoever runs the venue to take that role.

**The code has not arrived. What do I do?**

We send codes only to addresses on the domain the venue page shows, so open that mailbox and its spam folder first. A minute after the first one you can ask for another, and the newer code is the one that works.

**Why do I have to wait for another code?**

You have to wait a minute between codes to the same address. A venue can send codes to 25 different addresses in an hour, and after that the page says "This venue has had several claim codes sent to it already. Try again in an hour, or contact us and we will sort it out with you."

**No address at my venue's domain reaches me. Can I still claim the page?**

Yes. Contact us, and a person checks the venue with you and sets the page up for you. The email code works only where the venue has its own website, so if a venue is listed with a social profile or with nothing at all, you claim it by contacting us.

**Another person at the venue has claimed it already. What now?**

A venue page has one manager, so the page tells you which team already has it. Ask them to add you, or contact us and we will sort it out with you.

**Does claiming the page put my tickets on sale?**

No. The page costs nothing and stays free, and claiming it sells nothing and moves no money. Selling tickets with us is a separate decision you take later.
