# Design your own PDF tickets with your brand and sponsors

Every ticket a buyer opens on their phone or prints at home is a piece of your brand. A ticket design puts your logo, colors and fonts on it, with your own information, artwork and a row of sponsor logos that link to each sponsor's website. You keep your designs in one place for the brand, choose one for all your events, and give an event or a VIP ticket type a design of its own.

Design the PDF tickets your buyers get in your logo, colors and fonts, add your own information, artwork and sponsor logos, and choose which events and ticket types use each design.

For: Promoters, festivals and venues who want tickets in their own brand, with their sponsors on them

Takes: 8 minutes

## Before you start

- You're an owner or an admin of the brand. Ticket Fairy support can also open the ticket designs when helping you.
- Your logo and brand color are in **Brand Guidelines**. Every new design starts from them, and you can change both in the design.
- Your sponsors are on each event's **Sponsors** page, or you have their logos as PNG, JPEG or SVG files or web addresses.
- To print your own font, its TrueType (.ttf) file is in your brand kit, with its license confirmed.

1. ## Open Ticket Designs

Open your brand, then select **Ticket Designs**. The page lists your designs and the **Standard Ticket Fairy ticket**.

**Note:** Events use the design marked **Used for all events**.
![Ticket Fairy Ticket designs page with the standard ticket and three saved designs, one marked Used for all events](https://www.ticketfairy.com/embeds/posters/marketing-ticket-designer--library.png) Brand, Ticket Designs.
2. ## Start a new design

Select **New design**. The **New ticket design** window opens with four starting designs.
3. ## Choose a starting design

Under **Start from**, choose **Clean**, **Festival**, **Partner showcase** or **Minimal**. Each one already uses your logo and color from Brand Guidelines.
4. ## Name the design and create it

Enter a **Name** your team will recognize, then select **Create design**. The designer opens with your new design.

**Tip:** Turn on **Use this design for all my events** first to use it everywhere.
5. ## Choose the paper, fonts and color

In the **Page** section, choose the **Paper size**, **Font**, **Heading font** and **Page color**. The **Preview** beside it redraws the real PDF ticket as you change the design.

**Note:** Your brand kit's fonts are listed after the standard fonts, each marked as from your brand kit. **Brand kit fonts** under the font lists names any kit font your tickets cannot use, with the reason.
![Ticket Fairy ticket designer with the Page, Artwork and Blocks sections beside a preview of the PDF ticket with a festival header, background artwork and sponsor logos](https://www.ticketfairy.com/embeds/posters/marketing-ticket-designer--designer.png) Brand, Ticket Designs, Edit.
6. ## Add artwork to the page

In the **Artwork** section, upload an SVG, PNG, JPEG or GIF under **Add artwork**, or enter its address in **Or enter the artwork's web address** and select **Add**. New artwork fills the page behind the blocks.

**Tip:** An SVG stays sharp at any size. **Use my brand logo** adds your Brand Guidelines logo as artwork.
7. ## Place the artwork

Choose **Behind the blocks** or **Over the blocks** under **Where it sits**, and **Fill the page** or **Place it** under **Size**. With **Place it**, enter **From the left edge**, **From the top edge** and **Width** in millimetres.
8. ## Choose its opacity and pages

Enter the **Opacity**, where 100 is fully solid, then choose **Every page** or **First page only** under **Pages**.

**Note:** A design can have up to 10 pieces of artwork. **Move up** and **Move down** change which piece sits in front.
9. ## Add a block

In the **Blocks** section, choose a block in **Add a block**, such as a **Heading**, **Text** or **Image**. The new block goes under the selected one, and its settings open below the list.
10. ## Move a block

Select **Move up** or **Move down** beside a block. **Copy** and **Remove** are beside them.

**Note:** The **Ticket** block stays, because it holds the QR code.
11. ## Choose which sponsor logos show

Select the **Sponsor logos** block, then under **Which logos to show** choose **This event's sponsors** or **Choose logos here**. With **This event's sponsors**, each event's tickets show the sponsors from its **Sponsors** page, and a ticket type with its own sponsors shows those.

**Note:** The preview shows sample sponsors while the block shows each event's sponsors.
**Tip:** Change **Logos in each row** to fit your logos.
12. ## Add the logos for this design

With **Choose logos here**, select **Add a sponsor** for each sponsor. Each sponsor has its logo, its **Sponsor name** and its **Sponsor's website**, which opens when a buyer taps the logo in the PDF.
13. ## Add your own information

Select a **Text** block, then enter what buyers need, such as entry times or what to bring. The tags listed under the text box fill in each ticket's own details, such as the holder's name.

## Event information on a design

The **Event information** block prints what you already set for the event, such as its terms, its location information and your additional ticket text. Each part has its own switch in the block's settings, so a design can leave out what it does not need.

## Ticket Fairy logo

A small Ticket Fairy logo sits at the foot of every page of every design, on top of your artwork, and no block or artwork covers it. On events of a partner that sells under its own name, the partner's logo is there instead.

14. ## Save the design

Select **Save design**. Every ticket that uses this design shows your changes from then on.

**Note:** If a teammate saved it first, choose **Keep my version** or **Load their version**.
15. ## Choose the design for an event

Open the event's **Settings**, then choose a design in **Design for this event** on the **Ticket design** card. The choice saves straight away.

**Note:** **Preview a ticket** shows it with this event's details.

## Or have it done for you

Fai, the assistant inside your dashboard, can start a design from one of the starting designs, change its blocks, artwork, colors, fonts, text and sponsor logos, copy or delete a design, choose the design for all your events, and choose the design for an event or one of its ticket types. She tells you which brand kit fonts your tickets can use and why the others cannot be used. She shows you each change and asks you to approve it before saving. Upload logo, artwork and font files in the dashboard, or give Fai their web addresses, because Fai cannot upload files.

### In your dashboard, with Fai

Create a ticket design called \<DESIGN NAME\> from the Partner showcase starting design, with these sponsor logos and websites: \<SPONSOR NAMES, LOGO ADDRESSES AND WEBSITES\>. Show me the design before you save it

## Let Fai do it for you

Fai works inside your Ticket Fairy dashboard. Create your account, open Fai and paste the prompt above.

## Use your brand's own font on your tickets

1. ### Add the font file to your brand kit

In **Brand Guidelines**, open **Typography**, then upload the font's TrueType (.ttf) file under **Font file (optional)**. **Manage fonts in your brand kit** in the designer opens the same page.
![Ticket Fairy Brand Guidelines page with the Identity, Colors, Typography, and Logos & assets cards](https://www.ticketfairy.com/embeds/posters/marketing-brand-guidelines--brand-kit.png) Brand, Brand Guidelines.
2. ### Confirm the font's license

Tick **I confirm my brand has the right to use this font in its emails, event pages and tickets.**, then select **Save changes**. The font then shows the date its license was confirmed.
3. ### Choose the font in your design

Open the design, then choose the font, marked as from your brand kit, in **Font** or **Heading font**.

Fai can tell you which brand kit fonts your tickets can use and why the others cannot. Once you have uploaded the font file in the dashboard and told her that your brand has the right to use the font, she can add it to your brand kit and choose it in a design, after you approve each change.

### In your dashboard, with Fai

Which of my brand kit fonts can I use on my tickets? Use \<FONT NAME\> as the heading font in the \<DESIGN NAME\> ticket design and show me the design before you save it

## Give one ticket type its own design

1. ### Show the ticket types

On the event's **Ticket design** card, select **Use a different design for some ticket types**. The card lists the ticket types straight away when one of them already has its own design.
2. ### Choose the ticket type's design

Under **Ticket types**, choose a design for the ticket type, such as a VIP design for your VIP tickets. Ticket types left on **Same as the event** use the event's design.

Fai can choose the design for an event and for each of its ticket types once you approve the change.

### In your dashboard, with Fai

On \<EVENT NAME\>, use the \<DESIGN NAME\> ticket design for the \<TICKET TYPE NAME\> tickets

## Use one design for all your events

On **Ticket Designs**, select **Use for all events** on the design, then confirm. Every event that has not chosen its own design then uses it.

**Note:** The same button on the **Standard Ticket Fairy ticket** goes back to it.

Fai can choose the design every event uses, or go back to the standard ticket, once you approve it.

### In your dashboard, with Fai

Use the \<DESIGN NAME\> ticket design for all my events

## Copy or delete a design

On **Ticket Designs**, select **Copy** or **Delete** on the design. A copy starts a new design, and after a delete the events that used it change to the design for all events.

Fai can copy or delete a design once you approve it.

### In your dashboard, with Fai

Copy the \<DESIGN NAME\> ticket design and call the copy \<NEW NAME\>

## Questions you might have

Do tickets that are already sold change to the new design?: Yes, when they are downloaded or resent. A ticket PDF is made each time a buyer or your team downloads it, so it uses the design that applies at that moment. A PDF already attached to an email keeps the look it was sent with.

Does the QR code still scan at the door?: Yes. Every design has the **Ticket** block with the same QR code the standard ticket has, so your door team scans it in the same way.

What happens if a logo cannot be loaded?: The ticket still prints. A logo or image that cannot be loaded from its web address is left out, and if a design cannot be drawn at all the buyer gets the standard Ticket Fairy ticket rather than no ticket.

Does my logo change on the tickets when I change it in Brand Guidelines?: Yes, where the design uses **Your Brand Guidelines logo**. An image you uploaded to the design itself stays as it is.

Is the event's additional ticket text still printed?: Yes, in the **Event information** block, as long as **Your additional ticket text** is turned on in that block.

Why can't I pick my font?: Your tickets can use a brand kit font when the kit has its TrueType (.ttf) file, a team member has confirmed its license, and the font's own license allows it in a document. **Brand kit fonts** in the designer names each font your tickets cannot use and why. Fix it in your brand kit with **Manage fonts in your brand kit**, for example by uploading the .ttf file in place of a .woff2 or .otf file, or by ticking the license box.

What happens if a font leaves my brand kit?: Tickets that use it print in the standard font, and the design marks the font as printing in the standard font until you choose another one. Add the font to your brand kit again to bring it back.

Can I remove the Ticket Fairy logo?: No. A small Ticket Fairy logo is at the foot of every page of every ticket, and no block or artwork covers it. A partner that sells tickets under its own name has its own logo there instead.

How many designs can a brand have?: Up to 100. Each design can have up to 40 blocks and 10 pieces of artwork.
