# Manage one event's emails and texts in Messaging

In the week of a show, a promoter or venue team only cares about one event. Messaging opened from that event keeps its emails, texts, templates and Mailchimp list together, while your brand's designs and sending preferences still apply.

Open Messaging from an event to see only that event's messages, Fai's suggestions, automatic messages, templates and Mailchimp list, and start new emails and texts that are already about it.

For: Promoters and venue teams working on the messages for one event

Takes: 5 minutes

- [Open Messaging on your event](#step-1)
- [Start an email or text about this event](#step-2)
- [Select For you](#step-3)
- [Select Automatic messages](#step-4)
- [Select Templates](#step-5)
- [Select Settings](#step-6)

## Before you start

- You're an owner, an admin or a marketing team member of the brand the event belongs to. With a role on the event only, **Messaging** opens the previous Messaging page, which the guide to emailing the people who bought tickets covers.
- The brand is verified. Messaging is part of every plan.

1. ## Open Messaging on your event

Open your event and select **Messaging**. **Messages** lists only this event's emails and texts, with who each one went to and how it did.

**Note:** **Designs** shows your brand's designs, which the emails of any of your events can use. A change to a design updates only the emails that use it and have not gone out yet.

2. ## Start an email or text about this event

Select **New email** or **New text**. The draft is about this event and goes to its ticket holders until you choose another group.

**Note:** Every step of the message editor, from the group to the test and the send, is in the guide to emailing or texting your fans.
3. ## Select For you

Select **For you**. Fai's suggestions, the messages coming up and the ones sent recently are for this event only.
4. ## Select Automatic messages

Select **Automatic messages**. The list shows every automatic message that goes out for this event, and the line under each name says whether it is for all events, an event series the event is in, or this event only.

**Note:** An automatic message you set up here starts as a version for this event only. You can choose all events or an event series instead under **Send for**.

5. ## Select Templates

Select **Templates**. This event's templates come first, then the ones for every event.

**Note:** A template you save from this event's Messaging is for this event, and **Who can use it** lets you make it for every event instead.
**Tip:** Select **Upload your own HTML** to add an email design made outside Ticket Fairy as a zip file for this event, on its previous Email templates page.

6. ## Select Settings

Select **Settings**. If you're an owner or an admin, the **Mailchimp** list for this event is here, **Open brand settings** takes you to the settings for the whole brand, and **Open designs** opens **Designs**.

**Note:** Quiet hours, the weekly marketing limit, Fai's suggestions, the text number and the designs are set once for the brand.

## Questions you might have

Why does my event's Messaging look different from my teammate's?: Messaging opened from an event shows these tabs to owners, admins and marketing team members of the brand. With a role on the event only, you see the previous Messaging page, so ask a brand owner for a brand role if you need these tabs.

Why does an automatic message say it is not sent to this event?: Each event gets one version of each automatic message, and the line names the version that goes to this event instead. This event's own version goes if it is switched on. If not, the version for an event series the event is in goes. If neither is switched on, the version for every event goes. A paused version shows the line too. To send this event's own version or a series version, switch it on. To send the version for every event, pause this event's own version and the series version. Make the change before the message goes out.

Where is Email Templates on my event?: Your event's email templates are under **Templates** in its Messaging, and the old Email Templates address opens them there. A design uploaded as HTML is still changed on the previous Email templates page, which **Change on previous page** opens.

Where are the emails I sent from this event before?: In **Messages**, marked **From the previous Messaging page**. The guide to finding your emails and templates from the previous Messaging pages covers what you can do with them.

Can I choose a different Mailchimp list for this event?: Yes, if you're an owner or an admin and your dashboard shows Mailchimp. Choose the list under **Mailchimp** in **Settings**, and buyers of this event join it while your other events keep the brand's list.
