# See how much of your ticket money you can spend from Vault

Before you commit to a supplier, you want to know how much of your ticket money you can actually spend. In each currency, you see what you can spend today, what is still on its way or held, and anything to deal with before you pay anyone.

Fai, your AI teammate, can check sales, update your event or change a ticket when you ask.

Takes:  6 minutes

- [Open the Vault Overview](#step-1)
- [Read Available now for your currency](#step-2)
- [Check what is on its way and held](#step-3)
- [Refresh before you commit to a payment](#step-4)
- [Act on what needs your attention](#step-5)
- [Start a common job](#step-6)

## Before you start

- You're an owner on the brand, and Vault is switched on for it. Authorized Ticket Fairy support can also read your balances. Ask Ticket Fairy support to switch it on if **Vault** isn't in your brand's menu.
- Your Vault account has finished setup. While an account is still being set up, it holds no money and shows the step it's waiting on instead of balances.
- You have your second factor to hand. Refreshing the balances may ask you to confirm it's you.

1. ## Open the Vault Overview
    [Play from here](#guide-video)
   Pick the brand, open **Vault**, then select **Overview**. The page shows **Your money**, **Needs your attention**, **Quick actions**, what Fai prepared for you, **Your events** and your Vault account.

   **Note:** Vault belongs to the brand, not to an event. Money from every event that brand runs arrives in the same balances.

   *Vault, Overview, for a brand with money in three currencies.*
2. ## Read Available now for your currency
    [Play from here](#guide-video)
   Under **Your money**, find the currency you want to spend and read **Available now**. That is the money you can pay out or spend today.

   **Note:** Each currency has its own row, largest first, and nothing is added up across currencies. A currency you have no account for is missing rather than zero.
3. ## Check what is on its way and held
    [Play from here](#guide-video)
   Look at the figures beside **Available now** for the same currency.

   - **On its way**: Money arriving that has not settled yet, such as ticket money from a recent payout.
   - **Held**: Money set aside for payments that haven't finished yet, such as card purchases. It becomes available again when they complete or are canceled.
   - **Total**: Available now, on its way and held, added together.
   - **Security deposit**: Money put up as security. It shows only when you have one, and it is not part of the total.
4. ## Refresh before you commit to a payment
    [Play from here](#guide-video)
   Select **Refresh** beside **Your money**, and confirm it's you if Vault asks. The time under the figures, after Balances updated, shows when they were last updated.

   **Note:** If a refresh fails, the page keeps the last saved figures and says so rather than showing you nothing.
5. ## Act on what needs your attention
    [Play from here](#guide-video)
   Read **Needs your attention** and select the link beside each line: **Check the payment** for a payment that needs checking before you can send more money, **Review payments** for group payments waiting to be sent, and **Open Action Center** for Action Center items.

   **Note:** "Nothing needs you right now" means there is nothing to check or send.
6. ## Start a common job
    [Play from here](#guide-video)
   Under **Quick actions**, select **Pay someone**, **Pay several people**, **Issue a card**, **Create an invoice** or **Download a statement**. Each one opens the page for that job.

   **Tip:** **Convert** beside **Your money** opens Convert money, and **See all events** under **Your events** opens every event's money.

## Or have it done for you

Fai can tell you your balances, and can open Vault when you want the page. You move money on the page itself, behind the extra sign-in it needs.

### In your dashboard, with Fai

```
What is in Vault for <BRAND NAME> right now, and how much of it is still settling?
```

### From your own assistant, over MCP

Connect your assistant to [our MCP server](https://www.ticketfairy.com/mcp-server) and ask it:

Keep `--read-only` in your MCP configuration. This task only reads data, so your assistant does not need tools that make changes.

```
Pick the brand <BRAND NAME> and show its Vault balance in each currency
```

## From your terminal

Install the CLI from [our CLI page](https://www.ticketfairy.com/cli), sign in with `ticketfairy auth login`, and choose the brand you are working on with `ticketfairy brand use <BRAND_ID>`. `ticketfairy brand list` and `ticketfairy event list` show the IDs the other commands use.

The command line prints the balances Vault has ready for the brand. If it says Vault needs you to confirm it is you, open Vault in the dashboard, confirm it's you in Vault, then run it again.

### Show the brands you can act for

```
ticketfairy brand list
```

### Show the brand's Vault balances

```
ticketfairy vault balance --brand <BRAND_ID>
```

## Check the account itself is healthy

 [Play from here](#guide-video)

1. ### Read the Vault account card

   Read **Vault account** below the balances for the status and when it last synced.

   **Note:** A suspended account can neither receive nor move money, and says why. A sync from days ago means the figures above are older than they look.

Fai can open Vault so you can read the account status. The MCP server and the CLI print it for you.

### In your dashboard, with Fai

```
Open Vault for <BRAND NAME> so I can check the account status
```

### From your own assistant, over MCP

Keep `--read-only` in your MCP configuration. This task only reads data, so your assistant does not need tools that make changes.

```
Pick the brand <BRAND NAME> and show the status of its Vault account
```

### From your terminal

The CLI prints the Vault account and its status.

#### Show the brand's Vault account and its status

```
ticketfairy vault account --brand <BRAND_ID>
```

## Questions you might have

**Why do the figures not add up to the total?**

 The total is available now, on its way and held. A security deposit is shown beside them because it is security rather than money you can spend, so it is left out.

**Why is a currency I have been paid in missing?**

 Only currencies with an active account that can take deposits are listed. Activate one for that currency and the row appears.

**Why is one currency listed out of order?**

 The rows are ordered by value in one currency, and Vault could not convert that one this time. Its figures are correct; only its place in the order is unknown.

**Is the available figure mine to spend?**

 It is what Vault can move today. It does not take off refunds you still owe, Capital you have not repaid or money due to others, so subtract those yourself before you commit to a supplier. To see what one event earned and what came off it, open it under **Events**, as See what each event earned in Vault shows.

**Is this the same as my event payouts?**

 No. A payout is the ticket money Ticket Fairy pays you after an event, and **Events** shows when each one is due. Vault is an account of your own that holds money, so your balances include payouts once they arrive.

**Why does Vault say Vault is locked?**

 Vault locks when nobody has used it for 5 minutes, and hides your balances and payments. Select **Unlock Vault** and confirm it's you to see your balances again.
