A founder price, a launch code or a free trial gives people a reason to join now, and gift memberships turn birthdays and the holidays into new members. Takes: 8 minutes - [Open your offers](#step-1) - [Name the offer](#step-2) - [Offers with and without a code](#step-3) - [Enter a code](#step-4) - [Choose the tiers and the discount](#step-5) - [Choose how long the discount lasts](#step-6) - [Limit how many members can use it](#step-7) - [Save the offer](#step-8) - [Give a tier a free trial](#step-9) - [Choose whether the trial includes free entry](#step-10) - [Gift memberships](#step-11) ## Before you start - You're an owner or admin of the brand, and you have at least one paid membership tier. 1. ## Open your offers In **Memberships**, open the **Offers** tab and select **Add an offer**. 2. ## Name the offer Enter a name in **Offer name**, such as Founding members or Summer launch. **Note:** Fans see this name on your join page. ## Offers with and without a code An offer with a code applies only when a fan enters the code as they join, which suits a campaign you send to one list. An offer with no code applies to everyone who joins its tiers, which is how you run an introductory or founder price. When several offers without a code fit, a new member gets the best one. 3. ## Enter a code Optional: Enter a **Code** of 3 to 40 letters, numbers, dashes or underscores, such as LAUNCH25. **Note:** Leave the code empty to give the offer to everyone who joins the tiers you choose. 4. ## Choose the tiers and the discount Choose the **Tiers** the offer is for and a **Discount type** of **Percentage** or **Amount**, then enter the **Discount**. **Note:** Leave **Tiers** empty to use the offer on every tier. 5. ## Choose how long the discount lasts Optional: Enter how many payments get the discount in **Number of payments**, from 1 to 120. **Note:** Leave it empty for a price that lasts as long as the member stays, which is how a founder price works. After the last discounted payment, the member pays the tier's normal price. 6. ## Limit how many members can use it Optional: Enter how many members can use the offer in **Number of members**, and choose the **Starts** and **Ends** dates. **Note:** A limit such as 100 turns the offer into a real "first 100 members" price. When a fan starts joining and never pays, their use goes back to the offer. 7. ## Save the offer Select **Create offer**, and your join page shows the offer on the tiers it covers. 8. ## Give a tier a free trial On the **Tiers** tab, select the tier, open **More options** and enter 1 to 90 days in **Free trial (days)**. **Note:** Fans enter their card when they join and pay nothing until the trial ends, and we remind them 3 days before the first payment. A free tier has no trial, because there is nothing to pay. 9. ## Choose whether the trial includes free entry Optional: Turn on **Free entry during the trial**, then select **Save changes**. **Note:** It is off by default, so nobody can join, come to your events free and cancel before paying. Every other perk works during the trial. ## Gift memberships Every paid tier can be bought as a gift on your join page, for 1, 3, 6 or 12 months. A gift of 12 months costs the yearly price, and a shorter gift costs the monthly price times the months. The person receiving it gets an email with a link, joins with it, and their membership ends when the gifted months run out, without ever charging them. A fan who joins again with a card that already had a trial pays the first period straight away. **Do existing members get the new offer?** No. An offer is for people who join while it runs. Existing members keep the price they joined at. **Does Ticket Fairy charge a fee on a free trial or a discount?** Ticket Fairy takes nothing on a free trial or a free month, and on a discounted payment it takes 5% of the amount the member pays, not the full price. **What happens when I refund a gift?** An unused gift link stops working. If the person has already started the gifted membership, it ends. **Do members on a free trial get free drinks and other vouchers?** Not to start with. On the tier's free drink or extra perk, turn on **During a free trial** under the perk's **More options**, and members on a trial get their vouchers too. **Can I stop an offer early?** Yes. Select **Archive** beside the offer on the **Offers** tab, and it stops applying to new joins. Members who joined with it keep their discount for the payments it covered, and **Restore** brings the offer back. **Can I give someone a membership myself, for free?** Yes. Select **Give a free membership** on the **Members** tab. They get the tier's perks and card and are never charged. ## Still have a question?
