# See the commission you earn as a promoter

When you sell tickets with your promoter link, your organizer can pay you a commission on each sale. You can see how you earn on each event and what every order earned you, so you and your organizer agree on the figure before you are paid.

Open My commission to see how you earn on each event you promote, what you have earned in each currency, and every earnings line behind it, including refunds and part refunds.

For: Promoters who sell tickets with their own link

Takes: 5 minutes

- [Open My commission](#step-1)
- [Open one event](#step-2)
- [Sales that count](#step-3)
- [Read your earnings](#step-4)
- [Check each earnings line](#step-5)
- [Orders that earned nothing](#step-6)

## Before you start

- You're on the event's team, or the brand's team, with the **Promoter** role or another role your organizer gave a commission to.

1. ## Open My commission

On your dashboard home page, select **View my commission** under your quick actions. You see each event you have earned on, with the brand, the event date and what you have earned.

**Note:** On one event, the same figures are on the **My commission** tab of the event's **Performance** page.
![Ticket Fairy My commission page with three events, each with its brand, event date and what you have earned](https://www.ticketfairy.com/embeds/posters/features-promoter-commission--my-commission.png) My commission.
2. ## Open one event

Select **See details** beside the event. **How you earn** says how you earn there now, in words, such as 10% of each ticket's price.

**Note:** If your organizer changes your commission, you get a notice, and the change applies to orders placed after it.

## Sales that count

An order counts when the buyer arrived through your promoter link. A percentage is worked out on the ticket price your organizer receives, after discounts and any booking fee they pay, without tax and without add-ons. Each order earns under the terms in place when the buyer placed it.

3. ## Read your earnings

Read **Earned**, **Taken back**, **Price changes after the sale** and **Balance** for each currency you sold in. New sales can take a few minutes to show.

**Note:** This shows what you have earned. Your organizer arranges paying you.
4. ## Check each earnings line

Read the list of earnings lines, newest first. Each line gives the date, the order, the ticket type, **What happened** and the amount.

**Note:** A refunded or canceled ticket takes back what it earned in a line of its own. A ticket that comes back, such as after a dispute, earns again.

## Orders that earned nothing

Under **Not earned**, the event counts orders that earned nothing and says why. An order you placed for yourself earns nothing. An order in a currency your commission has no fixed amount in earns nothing from that amount. An order placed before your organizer set your commission earns nothing.

## Try these steps on your own event

Create a free account, build your event and follow the steps above in your own dashboard. It takes a few minutes and you do not need to book a sales call.

## Or have it done for you

Fai, the assistant inside your dashboard, can tell you how you earn on an event, what you have earned, and why any order earned what it did. She reads your own commission only. The command line and MCP have no commission commands, so use the dashboard or Fai.

### In your dashboard, with Fai

How much commission have I earned on \<EVENT NAME\>, and why did my last order earn less than the others?

## Let Fai do it for you

Fai works inside your Ticket Fairy dashboard. Create your account, open Fai and paste the prompt above.

## Questions you might have

Why did an order earn less than I expected?: Open the event on **My commission** and read its earnings lines. If your organizer refunded part of a ticket's price and the buyer kept the ticket, a percentage goes down by the share refunded. If you earn more after a number of tickets, the earlier tickets keep the rate they earned.

Do I lose commission when a ticket I sold is refunded?: Yes. A refunded or canceled ticket takes back exactly what it earned, in a line of its own. A ticket that is resold on Ticket Fairy keeps its commission, because the event did not lose the sale.

Do guests added to a table I sold earn commission?: Yes, with a percentage. The table's price rises by what the guests paid, so your commission rises with it, and removing guests lowers it. A fixed amount does not change.

Why do free tickets I gave out earn nothing?: A ticket with a price of zero earns no commission and does not count towards a higher rate.

Why does an order in another currency earn nothing?: Your organizer sets a fixed amount in each currency they sell in. An order in a currency with no amount earns nothing from the fixed amount, and **How you earn** names those currencies. Ask your organizer to add an amount in that currency.

Who pays my commission?: Your organizer. **My commission** shows what you have earned so you can agree the figure, and your organizer arranges paying you.

Can I see what other promoters earn?: No. You see your own commission and earnings only. Your organizer sees everyone's.
