Understanding your event reports

# See which sources and campaigns sell your tickets

You share your event in adverts, posts, newsletters and partner sites, and each link can carry tags that say where it was shared. The Campaigns tab adds up what each tag brought in, from the first click to the money taken, so you can put your next budget behind what sells. The Funnel tab then shows how many visitors got from your event page to checkout and on to a purchase.

Use the Campaigns tab of your event's Traffic report to see the link clicks, visits, orders, tickets and revenue each tagged link brought in, by source, medium or campaign, then follow visitors from your event page to a purchase on the Funnel tab.

For: Deciding which adverts, posts and partners to keep paying for

Takes: 7 minutes

## Your Traffic page

- [Campaigns](#step-1)
- [Funnel](#step-2)

## Before you start

- You're an owner or an admin on this event, or you have a **Stats** or **Limited Stats** login for it. A Limited Stats login sees the visits, orders and tickets, with no revenue.
- Your links carry tags. A tracking link you make in Ticket Fairy adds them for you; for a link you build yourself, add "utm\_source", "utm\_medium" and "utm\_campaign" to the address of your event page.

- ## Campaigns

Open your event, go to **Traffic** and select **Campaigns**. Choose the days under **All time**, **Last 7 days**, **Last 30 days** or **Choose dates** (enter the **First day** and the **Last day** and select **Show these days**), then choose **Source**, **Medium** or **Campaign** to group the report by that tag. The six figures at the top are **Link clicks**, **Visits**, **Orders**, **Tickets**, **Net revenue** and **Conversion**. The **Sales by source** table under them (by medium or by campaign when you group by those) has one row per tag, with the most orders first, and the same six columns for each tag.

**Note:** An order counts under the tags on the tracking link the buyer clicked, and otherwise under the tags on the event page address they bought from. Tags are read without capitals, so "Facebook" and "facebook" are one row. A visitor who opens your page from links with different tags counts once in each row, so the rows can add up to more than **Visits**. **Link clicks** counts the clicks on this event's tracking links. The days are your event's own days.
**Tip:** Select **What are sources, mediums and campaigns?** above the figures for the meaning of each tag, and **Make a tracking link** to make a link that carries them.

- ## Funnel

Select **Funnel**. **From first visit to purchase** counts the visitors who reached each step: **Opened your event page**, **Went to checkout**, **Held tickets in a cart** and **Bought tickets**, with the orders placed beside the last step. Each step says what share it is of the step before it, so the biggest drop shows where visitors give up.

**Note:** The Funnel has its own choice of days, which starts at **All time**. Each step counts its visitors on its own, so a step can be bigger than the one before when buyers skip a page, for example when a link takes them straight to checkout. **Held tickets in a cart** has figures from a set date only: when your days start earlier, as **All time** does, the step names that date and offers a button that starts your days on it.

## Questions you might have

What is the No source tag row?: The **No source tag** row holds the visits, orders and link clicks with no tag (**No medium tag** or **No campaign tag** when you group by those). **Where buyers without a tag came from**, under the table, splits its orders by the site that sent each buyer: a site's name, **Ticket widget on your website** for sales through the ticket widget on your own site, or **Typed the address, or from a site we could not see**. A link someone tagged with the text "(none)" is a real tag, so it has a row of its own beside the No source tag row.

Do the Campaigns figures match my Performance page?: For the same days they match. The orders, tickets and net revenue are counted the way the event's **Performance** page counts ticket sales, and **Net revenue** is ticket revenue less refunds, like the **Revenue** column there. The **Net revenue** figure at the top of the Performance page also adds add-ons and table guests and takes off referral rebates, so that one can differ. Across the rows, only **Visits** can add up to more than the total, because a visitor who arrived from two tagged links counts in both.

Why can Conversion be more than 100%?: **Conversion** is orders divided by visits to your event page. Buyers who go straight to checkout, for example from a link that skips the event page, place orders without a visit, so a row can convert above 100%.

Why does the report say some rows are left out?: Anyone can type their own tags into a link, so the report lists at most 1,000 tags: those with the most orders, then the most visits and link clicks. When it leaves some out, it says "This report has too many rows to show them all, so some with few orders, visits or clicks are left out." Choose fewer days to see the rest.

Why is revenue in another currency shown separately?: **Net revenue** is the money taken in your event's currency. Sales in any other currency are listed under it, each in its own currency, with no exchange rate applied.

Why can I see orders but no revenue?: A **Limited Stats** login shows the clicks, visits, orders, tickets and conversion, with every money figure hidden. Ask an owner or an admin of the event to change your role if you need revenue.

How up to date are the figures?: The line beginning "Updated at" at the top of each tab says when the figures were last worked out. They refresh every few minutes, so a sale can take a few minutes to appear.

Where do I see which sites sent visitors to my page?: The **Referrer URL** tab of **Traffic** lists the sites that sent visits to your event page. The Campaigns tab adds what those visits went on to buy.

Can Fai read this report for me?: Yes. Ask in ordinary language for the days and the grouping you want. Fai reads the Campaigns and Funnel figures, says which tags sold the most and where visitors dropped off, and changes nothing.
