Setting up an event

# Sell tickets to every date of your tour from one page

Touring promoters and artist teams sell the same show in city after city, and fans want one link that lists every date. A tour gathers your events onto one public page and one sales view, so you share a single link and see how the whole run is selling.

Takes:  6 minutes

- [Open Tours](#step-1)
- [Enter the tour name and web address](#step-2)
- [Enter the intro text](#step-3)
- [Add your dates](#step-4)
- [Create the tour](#step-5)
- [Check the tour page](#step-6)

## Before you start

- Your login has permission to create tours. Ticket Fairy gives that permission, so ask Ticket Fairy support for it if **Create Tour** is greyed out.
- You're an owner or an admin on every event you want to add, and each date is already set up as an event.

1. ## Open Tours

   Select **Tours** in the main menu, then select **Create Tour**. **Tours** lists every tour you work on, with the number of events in each.
2. ## Enter the tour name and web address

   Enter the name buyers will see in **Tour Name**, then check the address Ticket Fairy suggests under **Tour URL**. The address takes letters, numbers and hyphens, and no other tour can already use it.

   **Note:** Choose the final address now. It is the link you share for the whole run, such as theticketfairy.com/tour/summer-tour.
3. ## Enter the intro text

   Optional: Enter a few lines about the tour under **Intro Text (Shown Above Tour Dates)**. The tour page shows it above the list of dates.
4. ## Add your dates

   Under **Available Events**, select **Add to tour** on each date, using **Filter Events** to find one by name. Each date moves up to **Added Events**.

   **Note:** **Add to tour** is greyed out on an event where you are not an owner or an admin. Ask the event's owner to add it, or to give you that role.
5. ## Create the tour

   Select **Create Tour** under **Added Events**. Ticket Fairy creates the tour and takes you back to **Tours**.
6. ## Check the tour page

   Open the tour from **Tours** with **Manage Tour**, then select **Preview**. The tour page lists every published date in date order, and buyers choose one to open its event page and buy.

   **Note:** A date in draft stays off the tour page until you publish its event, and a tour with no published date sends visitors to the events listing instead.

## Or have it done for you

Fai and your own AI assistant through our MCP server can list your tours and create a new tour with its name and web address after you approve it. Add the dates on the tour's Details page, or create the tour with its dates in one command with the CLI. Every path needs the permission to create tours on your login, the same as the dashboard.

### In your dashboard, with Fai

```
Create a tour called <TOUR NAME> at the web address <TOUR_URL>. Show me the details and ask before you create it
```

### From your own assistant, over MCP

Connect your assistant to [our MCP server](https://www.ticketfairy.com/mcp-server) and ask it:

The copied MCP configuration includes `--read-only`. Remove `--read-only` only when you want your assistant to make changes. Routine changes run when requested; destructive actions ask you in a compatible client. If your client cannot ask, make the change in your dashboard.

```
Pick the brand for <TOUR NAME>, then create a tour called <TOUR NAME> with the web address <TOUR_URL>. Show me the details and ask before you create it
```

## From your terminal

Install the CLI from [our CLI page](https://www.ticketfairy.com/cli), sign in with `ticketfairy auth login`, and choose the brand you are working on with `ticketfairy brand use <BRAND_ID>`. `ticketfairy brand list` and `ticketfairy event list` show the IDs the other commands use.

You need the permission to create tours on your login. Find each event's ID with the event list, then create the tour with the dates in the order you want them shown.

### Create the tour with two dates attached

```
ticketfairy tour create --name "<TOUR NAME>" --slug <TOUR_URL> --event-id <EVENT_ID> --event-id <EVENT_ID>
```

### Check the tour and its dates

```
ticketfairy tour get <TOUR_ID>
```

## Add or remove a date later

Open the tour with **Manage Tour**, select **Add to tour** or **Remove from tour** on a date, then select **Save**.

**Note:** Removing a date from the tour leaves the event and its orders as they are. A new date shows on the tour page within a minute of saving.

Add or remove a date on the tour's Details page. Fai, MCP and the CLI can show you the tour and its dates.

### In your dashboard, with Fai

```
Show me the dates on my tour <TOUR NAME> and which of my events are not on it yet
```

### From your own assistant, over MCP

The copied MCP configuration includes `--read-only`. Remove `--read-only` only when you want your assistant to make changes. Routine changes run when requested; destructive actions ask you in a compatible client. If your client cannot ask, make the change in your dashboard.

```
Pick the brand for <TOUR NAME>, then open that tour and list its dates
```

### From your terminal

Find the tour's ID in the tour list, then print its dates.

#### The tour's current dates

```
ticketfairy tour get <TOUR_ID>
```

## Invite promoters to sell every date

On the tour's Details page, select **Copy Promoter Invitation Link** under **Invite Your Promoters** and send the link to your promoters. Anyone who opens it joins the tour's team as a promoter.

**Note:** **Regenerate** replaces the link so the old one stops working, and **Deactivate** turns the link off until you select **Enable**.

Copy, replace or turn off the promoter invitation link on the tour's Details page. Fai, MCP and the CLI cannot change this link.

## See how the whole tour is selling

Open the tour and select **Performance**. **Sales by Ticket Type** lists every ticket type on every date with the number sold, and **Total Daily Sales** adds up the sales across the tour by order date.

Fai can check the sales of each date on the tour for you, one event at a time.

### In your dashboard, with Fai

```
How are the dates on my tour <TOUR NAME> selling? Give me tickets sold and revenue for each date
```

## Questions you might have

**Why is Create Tour greyed out?**

 Creating a tour needs a permission Ticket Fairy gives your login. Hover over **Create Tour** to see the reason, then ask Ticket Fairy support to give you the permission.

**Does a tour change my events?**

 No. Each date keeps its own tickets, page, orders and payouts. The tour adds a page that lists the dates and a sales view across them.

**Do tracking and referral links still work from the tour page?**

 Yes. When a buyer arrives on the tour page through a referral, promoter or tracking link and chooses a date, the event page they open keeps the same link details, so the sale is credited the same way.

**Can I add events from more than one brand?**

 Yes, as long as you are an owner or an admin on each event you add.

**In what order are the dates shown?**

 The tour page lists the dates you add in the dashboard by their start date, earliest first.
