# Set quiet hours and a weekly marketing limit for your events

A text announcing a lineup at midnight, or a fourth offer in one week, is how fans end up unsubscribing. Quiet hours hold marketing texts until morning where your fans are, and a weekly limit warns your team before the same fans hear from you too often.

Choose the hours when marketing texts wait instead of waking your fans, how many marketing messages a week your team can send before the checks warn you, and whether Fai suggests messages for your events.

For: Brand teams deciding when and how often fans hear from them

Takes: 3 minutes

- [Open Sending preferences](#step-1)
- [Choose when quiet hours start](#step-2)
- [Choose when quiet hours end](#step-3)
- [Enter your weekly marketing limit](#step-4)
- [Turn Fai's suggestions on or off](#step-5)
- [Select Save preferences](#step-6)

## Before you start

- You're an owner, an admin or a marketing team member of the brand, and the brand is verified. Messaging is part of every plan.

1. ## Open Sending preferences

Go to your brand, select **Messaging**, then **Settings**. **Sending preferences** holds quiet hours, the weekly limit and Fai's suggestions.
![Ticket Fairy Sending preferences with quiet hours from 20:00 to 09:00, three marketing messages per week and Suggestions from Fai on](https://www.ticketfairy.com/embeds/posters/marketing-messaging-suite--sending-preferences.png) Messaging, Settings, Sending preferences.
2. ## Choose when quiet hours start

Choose a time in **Quiet hours start**. Quiet hours start at 20:00 until you change them.
3. ## Choose when quiet hours end

Choose a time in **Quiet hours end**. Quiet hours end at 09:00 until you change them.

**Note:** Quiet hours run in the event's own time zone, or in each fan's own time zone for a text to everyone who agreed to your texts. A marketing text due inside quiet hours waits and goes out when they end.
4. ## Enter your weekly marketing limit

Enter a number from 1 to 21 in **Marketing messages per week**. The limit starts at 3.

**Note:** **Before you send** warns you when your fans have already had this many marketing messages in the last 7 days. The warning does not stop the send.
5. ## Turn Fai's suggestions on or off

Turn **Suggestions from Fai** on or off. While it is on, Fai prepares suggested messages on For you for your team to review.
6. ## Select Save preferences

Select **Save preferences**. The dashboard confirms that your preferences are saved, and they apply to every event on the brand.

**Tip:** Select **Undo changes** before saving to go back to what is saved.

## Try these steps on your own event

Create a free account, build your event and follow the steps above in your own dashboard. It takes a few minutes and you do not need to book a sales call.

Fai, the assistant inside your dashboard, can show your quiet hours, weekly marketing limit and whether her suggestions are on, and change any of them. She shows you the change and asks you to approve it before she saves.

## Questions you might have

Do quiet hours hold back emails or event information texts?: No. Quiet hours hold marketing texts only. Emails, and texts about an event a person has tickets for, go at the time you send or schedule them.

What happens to a marketing text scheduled inside quiet hours?: It waits and goes out when quiet hours end in the event's time zone. The schedule dialog and **Before you send** both say so before you confirm. A text to everyone who agreed to your texts goes to each fan when quiet hours end in their own time zone.

Does the weekly limit stop a message going out?: No. It shows a warning under **Check this**, and you decide whether to send.

What if a teammate changed the preferences at the same time?: Your changes stay in the form and the dashboard tells you a teammate saved first. Select **Load their version** to see theirs, or save again to keep yours.
