Measure ticket sales with Google Analytics
Promoters and marketing teams who already measure their website in Google Analytics want event page visits, checkout starts and completed ticket sales in the same property. Your complete measurement ID goes in once at brand level, and the purchase event shows up in Realtime for you to check.
Add your complete Google Analytics measurement ID once to measure event-page visits, checkout starts and completed ticket sales.
- For
- Measuring event traffic and ticket sales in Google Analytics
- Takes
- 5 minutes
Before you start
- You're an owner, an admin or on the marketing team for this brand. If you can't open Integrations, ask an owner or an admin to do this part or to give you access.
- You have the measurement ID for your website's Google Analytics data stream. It starts with G-.
-
Copy your measurement ID
In Google Analytics, open Admin > Data streams and select the stream for your website. Copy the measurement ID that starts with G-.
Note: Use the ID for the website you are measuring, not an ads account.
-
Open the pixel importer
Open your brand's Integrations, find Network Conversion Tracking Pixels, then select Import Tracking Pixel.
Brand settings, Integrations, Import Tracking Pixel. -
Import the complete measurement ID
Under Paste complete pixel code, paste the measurement ID including G-. Check that the dialog detects Google Analytics and shows the same complete ID, then select Import Pixel.
Note: You can paste the complete Google tag instead if you already copied it. Ticket Fairy keeps the full G- measurement ID from either form.

Check the saved tag
Open Network Conversion Tracking Pixels, then the Google Analytics tab. The saved measurement ID should still start with G-.

Check a sale in Realtime
Buy a ticket on your own event, or use a test order. In Google Analytics, open Reports > Realtime and find purchase under Event count by Event name.
Note: Realtime usually shows new activity within a few minutes; if purchase is still missing after that, recheck the saved measurement ID. Standard reports take longer to fill, so do not use one for this check.

Questions you might have
- How do I add Google Analytics to my Ticket Fairy event page?
- Copy the measurement ID from your website's data stream, then import the complete ID under Network Conversion Tracking Pixels. The tag then runs on every event page under that brand and through checkout, so you set it up once rather than per event.
- Which Google Analytics events does Ticket Fairy fire?
- The tag runs gtag('config', 'YOUR-ID') when it loads. Ticket Fairy then sends ViewContent when someone opens your event page, InitiateCheckout when they begin buying, and Purchase when the sale completes. The purchase includes the order value and currency.
- Can I use Google Analytics ecommerce reports?
- Yes. Ticket Fairy sends the standard view_item, begin_checkout and purchase events with the order value, currency and ticket items Google Analytics uses for ecommerce reporting.
- What should I copy from Google Analytics?
- Copy the complete measurement ID from your website's data stream, including G-. You can paste that ID directly, or paste the complete Google tag that contains it.
- Will Google Analytics measure buyers who check out on my own website?
- Yes. The embedded checkout sends the same events at the same points as the hosted checkout, so Google Analytics records the sale in the same way.
