# Set up a Meta pixel for your events

Connect Meta to your brand and pick the pixel your ticket sales report to, so your Facebook and Instagram campaigns show what they actually sold.

Who it is for: Anyone running Meta ads for an event

How long it takes: 5 minutes

Checked against the dashboard: 23 August 2026

## Steps

1. ### Open Integrations for your brand

Tracking belongs to the brand rather than to one event, so every event you run under it is covered. Open the brand you sell under and go to Integrations, then find Meta conversion tracking. You need to be an owner, an admin or on marketing for this brand. If you are a promoter or on stats, ask one of them to do this part.
2. ### Connect Meta

Select Connect Meta and sign in with the Facebook account that has access to your ads. You are brought back to the dashboard when it finishes. If you manage more than one ad account, pick the one you buy your event ads on.
3. ### Choose the pixel your sales report to

Pick a pixel from the list read out of your ad account, or choose to create a new one and name it. If you change pixel later, the one you are using keeps tracking until the new one is turned on, so you never have a gap. The one you moved away from keeps reporting as well, so remove it in Meta conversion tracking once the new pixel is working, or both keep counting the same sales.
4. ### Turn tracking on

Select Turn on tracking. Your ticket sales now report to that pixel from our servers as well as from the browser, which is what keeps your campaign numbers whole when a buyer blocks browser tracking. Your Meta sign-in lasts about two months. When it runs out, go through Connect Meta again and pick your pixel and turn tracking on as you did the first time. Signing in on its own does not restart the reporting from our servers; finishing the steps after it does.
5. ### Add the networks you also buy on

Below the Meta card, Network Conversion Tracking Pixels gives TikTok, Snapchat, Reddit, Google and the rest a tab each. Paste an ID into any network you also advertise on, and it fires alongside Meta.

6. ### Check a sale reports back

Buy a ticket on your own event, or use a test order, and look for the purchase in Meta Events Manager. In the browser your pixel runs fbq('track', 'PageView') when it loads, then sends ViewContent on your event page, InitiateCheckout when a buyer starts buying and Purchase when the sale completes, so the value you see in Meta should match the order.

## Or ask an assistant to do it

Fai, the assistant inside your dashboard, can do this for you, and so can your own AI assistant through our MCP server. Both stop and ask you before they change anything. The one part neither can do is the Meta sign-in, which has to happen in your browser, so do that step yourself and let the assistant take it from there.

### In your dashboard, with Fai

I have connected Meta. Show me the pixels on our ad account, then turn conversion tracking on for the one we advertise with.

### From your own assistant, over MCP

Connect your assistant to [our MCP server](https://www.ticketfairy.com/mcp-server) and ask it:

The setup on that page starts your assistant in read-only mode, where it can look but change nothing. Take `--read-only` out of it to let the assistant do this for you. It then asks you to approve each change before it makes it.

Pick the brand I sell under, then check its Meta connection status, list the pixels on the connected ad account, and turn tracking on for the one I name.

## Questions people ask about this

How do I add a Meta pixel to my Ticket Fairy event page?: Open your brand, go to Integrations, and find Meta conversion tracking. Select Connect Meta, sign in, choose the ad account you buy on, then choose the pixel your sales should report to. Tracking then runs on every event page under that brand and through checkout, so you do this once rather than per event.

Do I need my Meta pixel ID or an access token?: No. The guided setup reads your pixels from Meta once you sign in, so you pick one from a list instead of copying an ID. The Conversions API credential is created and held on our side, so no token is ever pasted into the dashboard.

What if I do not have a Meta pixel yet?: Create one in the same step. Choose "Create a new pixel", give it a name, and it is made in the ad account you connected and selected for you.

Can I still enter a Meta pixel ID by hand?: Yes. Below the guided setup there is a manual option for accounts that already have a pixel ID and an access token to enter. Use the guided setup unless you have a reason not to, and do not add the same pixel in both places.

Will Meta still see my sales if the buyer blocks tracking?: Yes, that is what this setup is for. Sales are reported to Meta from our servers as well as from the browser, so a blocked or cleared browser no longer loses the sale from your campaign reporting. This runs on your Meta sign-in, so keep it renewed.

How long does my Meta connection last?: About two months, because that is how long Meta lets a sign-in stand. After that, the reporting from our servers stops, and the pixel in the browser keeps firing in the meantime. To restart it, go through Connect Meta again and then pick your pixel and turn tracking on, the same three steps as the first time: signing in alone is not enough. Your pixel and its settings are still there, so it takes a minute. Put a reminder in your calendar every couple of months and check it before a big on-sale.

Will my Meta pixel fire if buyers check out on my own website?: Yes. The embedded checkout fires the same events at the same points as the hosted checkout, so a sale on your own site is attributed the same way.
