Change the name on a ticket
Where the organiser allows it, you can change the name on a ticket, for example when someone else is going in your place. You can also add a missing email address or phone number.
Before you start
- You are logged in to the Ticket Fairy account that bought the order.
-
Select Edit ticket
Open your order and select Edit ticket under the ticket. If it is not there, select the ☰ button beside the ticket and find it in the list.
Note: There is no Edit ticket when the organiser has not allowed name changes, after ticket sales for the event have ended, or on an order paid with a payment plan. Where the event asks for a phone number or email address that a ticket is missing, Edit ticket lets you add it even when names cannot change.
-
Enter the new details
Enter the new first and last name, and the email address and phone number of the person going if you have them. Where a fee is shown, enter your card details too.
Warning: You can change the name on each ticket once only.
-
Confirm the change
Select I agree, then Update Ticket. We email you an updated confirmation with the new ticket.
Note: Usually the old ticket is cancelled and a new one with a new QR code replaces it, so send the new ticket to the person going.
Questions you might have
- Is there a fee to change a name?
- Only when the organiser sets one. The page shows the fee before you confirm, and it is not refundable.
- The menu says Max edits reached. Can I change it again?
- No. The name on that ticket has already been changed once. You can still give the ticket to someone, if the organiser allows it.
- Do I need to change the name for a friend to use my ticket?
- Not usually. Some events check names against photo ID at the door, and the confirmation email says so. Giving the ticket to your friend also puts their name on it.
