Buying tickets

# Unlock a password-protected event

Some events are private. You enter the password once, and the event page then works as usual.

- [Enter the password](#step-1)
- [Buy your tickets](#step-2)

## Before you start

- The event password, from the organiser or your invitation.

1. ## Enter the password

Open the event link. Enter the password in **Please enter the password for this event**, then select **Enter Event**.
![Welcome card asking for the event password with the Enter Event button](https://www.ticketfairy.com/embeds/posters/consumer-ticket-selection--password.png)
2. ## Buy your tickets

The event page opens. Choose your tickets and check out as usual. You stay unlocked until you close your browser.

## Questions you might have

It says Incorrect password.: Check the spelling and capitals, or ask the organiser for the password again. Some passwords stop working after a date the organiser sets.

I have a code, not a password.: A code that unlocks tickets is entered on the event page. See the promo code article.
