This year alone, we have seen Kimyan Law’s [Plus Plus Plus Music](https://kimyanlaw.bandcamp.com/track/taproot-3), Kyrist’s [Kynetic Sound](https://kyrist.bandcamp.com/album/translation-ep), French DnB pioneers Bobby & Elisa Do Brasil’s [Vahana Records](https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCmJgav6lcNLS2Be0RuLKYnQ), Charlie Tee’s[Total Records](https://www.beatport.com/release/feel-your-mind-extended-mix/3679203), New Zealand’s [One Eighty Records](https://open.spotify.com/album/6Yh513F57d6sn5xiQeT1dJ) from the SUB180 crew, Inja’s [Inja Music](https://www.beatport.com/release/not-bad/3672892), and [Metalheadz’s Techno label Headzstate](https://www.ticketfairy.com/word/2022/03/25/metalheadz-announces-new-techno-label-headzstate) come to life with the idea of championing the sound they believe in. Now for the 8th label announcement of the year, we have Austrian drum & bass legends Camo & Krooked and Mefjus announcing their brand new label, [Modus](https://www.modus.fm/). With a combined expertise of over two decades in the scene, Camo & Krooked and Mefjus have always made music with the thought of defying the conventional laws of drum & bass music and Modus will be a continuation of their genre-defining journey. Camo & Krooked are credited with bringing the anti-drop style in drum & bass which is now widely seen in many releases, while Mefjus has been the advocate of hyperclean, razor-sharp and intense DnB. With releases across the board on the biggest and the most celebrated labels in the drum & bass world, the Austrians have redefined the contemporary tropes of the genre in their own way. In the last couple of years, Camo & Krooked and Mefjus have worked heavily together on tunes like Kallisto, Sidewinder, and No Tomorrow followed by one of the biggest drum & bass tunes of 2021, ‘[Sientelo](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gOpAr0UiT6Q)‘; but nobody had envisioned a proper label coming then. Speaking about the label, Camo & Krooked and Mefjus [said](https://www.instagram.com/p/CcQYsZWqeSy/) “*Starting our own independent music label has always been a dream of ours, which now comes true.
