## How long do new slots take to appear?

Ticket Fairy creates the slots after you save the ticket type, and they appear on your Tickets page within a minute or two. A season with hundreds of slots takes a little longer.

On Tickets, you turn on This ticket type has time slots, select Generate time slots and choose your dates, weekdays, first and last entry time, slot length, price and Max sales per slot. You check the list, change a single slot with Edit Time Slot if one time needs a different price or capacity, then save the ticket type.

Ticket Fairy creates the slots in batches in the background. They join the Time Slots card on the Tickets page, where choosing a date under Select a day shows that day's slots with their price, Max Number of Sales and Stock. Your event page shows a slot once it exists.

## Do adult and child tickets share a slot's capacity?

No. Each timed ticket type has its own slots, and the maximum sales per slot counts that ticket type's sales alone. The room can be split between them, such as 30 adult and 10 child places a slot. Or one entry ticket type sells when the room is the only limit.

One timed ticket type covers adults and another children, each with its own slots. Each ticket type's slots sell out on their own count, so a full adult slot still leaves its child places on sale.

When the room is the only limit, one Entry ticket type sells, and checkout asks how many children are in the group. Your door team sees the answer as each ticket scans.

## Do season pass holders count towards a slot's capacity?

No. A season pass holder comes in without booking a slot, so their visits come on top of each slot's capacity. Each slot's capacity can sit below what your space holds, leaving room for the pass holders you expect at one time.

The Season pass ticket type gets a once-a-day rule: you turn on Tickets can be scanned multiple times per event, choose Day in Time Period and enter 1 in Max Scans. The holder then comes in once in any 24 hours for the whole season, without booking a time.

Work out how many pass holders you expect inside at the busiest time, and take that number off each slot's Max sales per slot. Check-In shows arrivals by hour, so after the first busy weekend you can see whether to raise or lower it.

[Set a once-a-day rule on your season pass](https://www.ticketfairy.com/guides/set-ticket-entry-and-repeat-scan-rules)

## How do I sell an escape room game to one group?

A timed ticket type for each room has a slot the length of a game. With the maximum sales per slot at 1, the slot is priced for the whole group. To sell places to separate players, you set the maximum sales per slot to the number of players the room holds.

A timed ticket type for each room, such as The Vault and The Lab, has a slot length of a game plus your reset time. With Max sales per slot at 1 and the price set for the whole group, the group that books a time has the room to themselves.

A booked time then shows as sold out, and the next group picks another. A photo package sells as an add-on with the booking, and your team scans the add-on's own code at the photo desk.

## Can I leave a gap between slots for a reset?

A single run lays slots end to end. To leave a gap, generate the morning and the afternoon as two runs, or take the slot you need clear off sale.

Generate the morning slots as one run, then generate a second run that starts after your break. Each run lays its slots end to end between the first and last entry time you give it.

For a single break, such as a cleaning hour at noon, open the slot on the Time Slots card and select Deactivate. It goes off sale without being removed, and you can put it back on sale later.

[Lay out time slots with gaps between them](https://www.ticketfairy.com/guides/sell-timed-entry-tickets)

## How do I close a date I no longer open on?

Its slots come off sale from the Time Slots card. Ticket Fairy's team can delete a slot, a date or a whole run for you. Nothing is deleted if any of those slots has sold, and a delete cannot be undone.

You choose the date under Select a day on the Time Slots card and select Deactivate on each of its slots. The date leaves the calendar on your event page once its slots are off sale, and no one can book it.

Once sales have started, a slot can be deactivated but not deleted, because a slot that has sold stays on record. You can contact the people who already booked that date and move them to another slot from their order.

[Close a date on your time slots](https://www.ticketfairy.com/guides/sell-timed-entry-tickets)

## Can visitors resell a timed ticket?

A visitor can pass a timed ticket to someone they know, but cannot offer it to the public. You can move a visitor to another slot from their order.

When ticket resale is on for your event, a visitor who cannot come selects Sell ticket on their order and enters the name and email address of the person taking their place. That person gets an email to buy the ticket, and it keeps its date and time. On a time-slot event, the ticket goes only to that person, never to the public or your waiting list.

A visitor who wants a different time asks you to move them. On Orders, you open their order and select Change Time Slot, then choose the new Date, Time and ticket type and save.

When your new choice has sold out, the dialog says so, and Save stays greyed out until you turn on Override stock. Moving a visitor charges nothing and refunds nothing, so agree any price difference first.

## Why do my check-in cards show zero sold?

The check-in overview leaves out the sales totals on a time-slot event. The Ticket Type tab of the check-in page, and Sales by Time Slot in Performance, give you those numbers.

Performance opens first on Sales by Time Slot for a time-slot event, listing sales and revenue for every slot start. Sales by Promoter offers By Time Slot as well, so you see which partner sold each slot.

On the day, Check-In's Ticket Type tab shows each slot. It groups arrivals by date, then by slot time, then by ticket type.

[See sales and arrivals by time slot](https://www.ticketfairy.com/guides/sell-timed-entry-tickets)

## Does the scanning app need a signal?

Yes. The Entry Fairy app needs an internet connection to scan tickets, so check the connection at each entrance before you open.

The app is best installed on every phone the day before. One guest ticket sent to yourself on a ticket type that admits once, and scanned on each phone before you open, confirms each phone is ready. The first phone admits it, and every other phone shows it as already checked in, with the time and who scanned it.

A phone that shows neither result is not signed in or has no connection. You undo the test scan from Individual Tickets on Check-In, so your count starts with the first visitor.

[Prepare your door team before you open](https://www.ticketfairy.com/guides/prepare-your-door-team)

## Can I plan staff shifts and volunteers for each day I open?

Yes. You plan shifts for your entrance, floor and photo desk in the same dashboard as your time slots, season passes and add-ons. You can book a demo, and we set up your first season with your team.

On your event, you select Operations and then Shifts. You plan each shift for your entrance, floor and photo desk, then select Offers and Offer to people on a shift with open places. Fai ticks about three people for each place from those who worked your earlier events, and the first person to accept takes it.

Volunteers get their own page with their shifts, the open shifts they can pick and their day sheet. Hours shows the hours each one worked from their check-in and check-out. If Shifts is not in the list, More sections opens it.

[Plan shifts for your crew and volunteers](https://www.ticketfairy.com/event-operating-system/crew-and-volunteers)

## Can theme parks and other attractions use Ticket Fairy?

Yes. Theme parks, zoos, museums, escape rooms, outdoor activities and haunted attractions sell their tickets here, with each hour sold to its own capacity.

You start from the Exhibition template with a season pass on top, then sell each kind of entry by time slot with its own capacity. A photo package, a guided tour or parking sell as add-ons, and bookings open at the minute you announce.

Staff and performers carry a multi-entry pass that needs no slot, and the scanning app goes on your door team's phones. On the day, Check-In shows arrivals slot by slot.

[Run ticketing for your theme park or attraction](https://www.ticketfairy.com/guides/run-an-attraction)

## Does Ticket Fairy work for haunted attractions?

Yes. Haunted attractions sell timed entry to each group with a capacity for every slot, let a late slot end after midnight, and sell photo packages with each ticket. Escape rooms and seasonal events sell the same way.

Generate slots the length of one group's walk through, and set Max sales per slot to the size of a group. For a late session, the switch that lets a slot end on the next day goes on before you generate, so the last slot can run past midnight.

A photo package can sell as an add-on limited to one per ticket. At the photo desk, your team scans the add-on's own code, so the visitor's ticket stays ready for entry.

## How do I fill my quiet weekday afternoons?

You can run a promotion that covers only the days and slots you want to fill, and give its code to your newsletter, a listing site or a hotel partner. Sales by Time Slot shows the sales and revenue of each slot, so you see which hours need it.

On your event, you select Marketing, then Promotions, and select Create promotion. You attach your timed ticket type, choose the day and the slots the discount covers, and enter the codes people use. Under Schedule Promotion (optional), you choose a Start time and an End time if the offer runs for a set week.

For your busiest times, Edit Time Slot on the Time Slots card raises a slot's price, so a Saturday morning earns more than a Tuesday afternoon. Each promotion shows how many times its codes have been used, so you see whether the quiet hours filled.

[Create a promo code for your quiet hours](https://www.ticketfairy.com/guides/create-promo-codes)

## Who pays the booking fee, us or the visitor?

The visitor, unless you choose otherwise. With Added, the default, the visitor pays the booking fee on top and you receive the full ticket price. Absorbed suits you when the price on your website has to be the price at checkout, and the fee comes out of what you receive.

You choose once for each event, on the Tickets page or while you create the event, and every slot, season pass and add-on follows it. The choice comes before your first ticket type, because you cannot switch between Added and Absorbed once ticket types exist.

The booking fee depends on the ticket price and your event's country. It falls as a percentage as prices rise, with a small minimum on low prices, and your Ticket Types table shows the exact amount for every price you enter. Free tickets carry no fee.

[Choose who pays the booking fee on your attraction](https://www.ticketfairy.com/guides/set-who-pays-the-fees)

## When do we get our ticket money?

You get it as tickets sell, once you link your own payment processing account and it is active. If you choose to be paid out after your event instead, Ticket Fairy processes the payments and pays you 10 to 15 business days after the event finishes.

When your attraction runs one event for a whole season, Ticket Fairy pays you out after the last day of that event, so link your own account before bookings open to be paid as tickets sell. Your publish review shows when the money for your event arrives.

When you are paid after the event, the money goes to the account under Payout Details on your brand, and one event can use a different account. It is worth checking before the season ends, because a payout already sent to an old account has to be recalled.

[Check the payout for your attraction](https://www.ticketfairy.com/guides/check-your-payout)

## Can a school or company book and pay by invoice?

Yes. You record the booking under Group Bookings with the company's purchase order and payment terms, and send one invoice that falls due on their terms. Ticket Fairy holds the tickets back from sale from the moment you send the invoice until the purchaser pays it.

On the event, you select Group Bookings, then New group booking. You enter the school or company name, choose the Purchaser who receives the invoice and hands out the tickets, and add each ticket type and quantity, with any add-ons. You enter the Purchase order number and choose the Payment terms.

With Raise invoice, you choose the Due date their terms give, and leave Email the invoice now on. The purchaser gets the invoice and a link to pay. Once it is paid, they get an email to give the tickets out to their group.

[Take a school or company booking and invoice it](https://www.ticketfairy.com/guides/take-a-group-booking-and-invoice-it)

## Can visitors buy a visit as a present?

Yes. You can sell a gift certificate worth a ticket type or a fixed sum. The buyer pays now, and the person they give it to chooses when to visit.

On your event, you select Add Gift Certificate. You choose the Gift Certificate Type: for a ticket certificate, you choose the Ticket Type it covers, and Ticket Fairy fills in the price from it. For an amount certificate, you enter each sum you want to offer, such as three or four round sums.

You set the Duration (months) from the day it is bought. Twelve months suits an attraction open all year. When you take a certificate off sale, every certificate already bought stays valid until it expires.

[Sell gift certificates for your attraction](https://www.ticketfairy.com/guides/sell-gift-certificates)

## Can visitors get answers at night before they book?

Yes. The AI concierge can sit on your website. It answers visitors in their own language, day and night, from your FAQ pages, your website and your documents, sells tickets in the chat and passes anything it cannot answer to your team.

Fai goes through your website from its home page, picks the pages worth answering from and shows you her choices to keep or skip. You can add an answer of your own for each question visitors ask most, such as parking, accessibility or the youngest age you admit.

The concierge checks each page on the schedule you choose, so it gives your new opening hours the day you change them. The preview lets you ask it your three hardest questions before you put it on your website.

[Give your visitors an AI concierge](https://www.ticketfairy.com/guides/give-buyers-an-ai-concierge)

## Can visitors accept our waiver before they pay?

Yes. Ticket Fairy support adds your waiver to the checkout agreement for your event, and every buyer opens it, reads it and ticks to accept it before paying. We add them for you from the approved wording and the name of each section.

Checkout shows each section, such as Waiver or Code of conduct, as its own link in the agreement sentence. Buyers who use the checkout on your own website go to your event's own checkout page on Ticket Fairy, so they always see the full agreement.

What visitors need on the day can print on the ticket itself as well. Under Tickets, on the Settings tab, you enter your directions and opening times in Additional text to display on ticket PDF.

[Add your waiver to the checkout](https://www.ticketfairy.com/guides/add-custom-terms-to-your-checkout)

## Can we print directions and parking details on every ticket?

Yes. You enter your directions, parking, opening times and what to bring once, and they print on every ticket PDF for the event. A parking or tour ticket type can carry words of its own.

On your event, under Tickets, then the Settings tab, you enter your text in Additional text to display on ticket PDF (such as venue directions). You then select Save Ticket Settings. A ticket type with text of its own prints only that text, so repeat anything those visitors still need.

A ticket PDF uses your current text when it is downloaded, while a PDF already sent by email keeps the words it was sent with. One ticket downloaded from its order shows you how it reads.

[Print directions and entry details on your tickets](https://www.ticketfairy.com/guides/print-venue-directions-and-entry-details-on-your-tickets)

## Can we see which listing site or hotel partner sends us visitors?

Yes. Each listing site, hotel partner, social post and flyer can have its own tracking link. The Tracking Links table shows the clicks, orders and ticket revenue each one brought in.

On your event, under Marketing, Tracking Links, you select Create Tracking Link. Naming the link after its channel and the date keeps the table clear later. You copy the short address, or select Download QR for a flyer or a poster at the hotel desk.

Revenue is your share after fees, not what the visitor paid. A sale counts towards a link when the visitor opens it and buys in the same browser. To reward a partner for the visitors they send, you can invite them to your team with a promoter link instead.
