Sell Single Seats and Whole Tables for the Same Night
Create a ticket type for each seat price, such as a gala seat and a supporter seat, and a table type for each table you sell, with its price and the number of guests it seats. Give each seat price its own share of the room, so seats and tables together never sell more places than you have. Take the whole table price online, or a deposit online and the rest yourself. A table booking is one ticket for the whole party, so the host shows one code at the door.
Some guests want to buy a single place and be seated with friends, and some hosts want to fill a table of their own. Selling both from the same event means your seating plan starts from one list of every seat and table sold, and your finance team sees one total for the night.
In a ballroom with a seat map, guests pick the table they want as they buy. When you prefer to seat guests yourself, assign each guest their seat on the map, and their tickets go out once every ticket in the order has a seat. Give a sale window to an early table price, so hosts who commit before the invitations go out pay less.
- Seat prices: a price and a share of the room for each kind of seat
- Table types: one booking for the whole table, paid in full or with a deposit
- Tables on the seat map: guests choose their table, or you assign seats later
