## Can players pay an entry fee?

Yes. The Player ticket type is priced at your entry fee and stays visible, so each player buys their own place at checkout. A hidden Player ticket type suits a free or invited field, where you send each place yourself.

On the event's Tickets page, you create a ticket type named Player, enter your entry fee as its price and your number of player places as its allocation, and leave it visible. Each player then buys their own place at checkout, and the field closes when the places are gone.

For an invited or free field, you turn on Hidden and choose Always hidden instead, with 0 as the price for a free tournament. Player places then never appear on your public event page, and you send each place yourself as a guest ticket.

## How do I register a whole team at once?

The sign-up form asks for the team name and every member's gamer tag. Once you accept the team, their tickets go out on the Player ticket type. One email address receives every ticket in a batch, so send each player their own when they arrive separately.

On the sign-up form, you add a Section heading such as Team member, with the gamer tag and email questions under it. With People can add this section more than once on the heading and Most copies set from 2 to 20, a captain enters every member of the team.

Once you accept the team, you open Guest Tickets and select Send Guest Tickets on the Player ticket type. One batch for each player, with their own name and email address, means each player receives their own ticket.

## Do team staff and casters need a ticket as well as a pass?

No. A multi-entry pass scans at the same door as a ticket and lets its holder in and out up to its most uses. It does not take a ticket out of your allocation.

Under Multi-Entry Passes on your brand, you create a pass type for each group, such as Team staff, Caster and Production. You set Maximum number of uses per event high enough for every trip in and out across the whole tournament, then add each person under Enter Recipient and send the passes.

A pass shows its holder's name and pass type when it scans, in the same app as tickets. Ticket Fairy turns passes on for a brand, so ask us if the page is not in your menu.

## Which streamers will I see among my ticket buyers?

You see every buyer with a paid order who connected Twitch when they bought. The followers, views and partner status are the figures Twitch gave at that moment, so open the channel to check its current following. The report shows ten channels a page.

On your event, you select Gaming under Statistics. Each row is a Twitch channel with its Followers, Views and Partner Status, with the biggest channel first. You can sort by any column, enter part of a name in Search to find one channel, or select Copy table to paste the list into a spreadsheet.

Buyers who signed in with an email address, Facebook or Google do not appear, however many followers they have. An unpaid, refunded or canceled order does not count either. Each new buyer who connects Twitch adds their channel to the list.

## Does a tracking link pay the streamer who shares it?

No. A tracking link counts clicks, orders and revenue and pays nobody. To reward a streamer for the tickets their viewers buy, you can add them to your sales team with a promoter link.

Under Marketing, Tracking Links, you select Create Tracking Link and name the link after the channel. Once it is in the stream panel and chat, the table shows the clicks, orders and ticket revenue it brought in. Each co-streamer and partner you want to compare can have one too.

To pay a streamer for what their viewers buy, you invite them to your team as a Promoter and choose their Commission. The sales through their promoter link then count for them under Sales by Promoter, beside your own channels.

## Does the follower-only presale need Instagram?

Yes. The follower-only presale runs on Instagram, so connect your account first. Fans without Instagram can join through pre-registration on your event page. Both lists can buy before the public on-sale.

A followers-only presale for your tournament sets up from Social on your brand. Each fan who comments your word, such as PRESALE, gets a direct message asking them to follow your account, then one asking for their email address, and they join the presale list. A fan who already follows you skips straight to the email question.

No ticket link goes out during sign-up. Presale sign-ups shows where each fan has got to, and the launch button names how many fans are ready to invite. When you launch, each of them gets a personal link to buy before the public on-sale.

[Run a followers-only presale on Instagram](https://www.ticketfairy.com/features/social-media/comment-replies-and-follower-presales)

## How do players find out whether they made the field?

Every sign-up form asks for an email address, and the question cannot be removed. When you accept or decline a sign-up, the email you chose goes to that address, and an accepted player then receives their named ticket.

When you build the form, you choose an Approved Email Template and a Declined Email Template from your event's email templates. Then, on the form's row, select Submissions, open each sign-up and select Accept or Decline. The email you chose goes to the address the player entered.

Accepting does not send a ticket, so send each accepted player their named ticket on the Player ticket type from Guest Tickets. If you change your mind, an accepted sign-up offers Decline and a declined one offers Accept, and the player gets the email for the new decision.

[Accept or decline player sign-ups](https://www.ticketfairy.com/guides/take-applications-with-a-form)

## Can a spectator who cannot come pass their pass on?

Yes, when you turn on face-value resale. The new holder gets a pass in their own name and the old code stops working. Outside India, each resale carries a 10% resale fee, charged separately to the seller's original card. The seller gets the ticket price back in full.

On your event, under Tickets, then Settings, you select Settings on the Anti-Scalping/Fraud Settings card. You turn on Ticket resale and save. A spectator who cannot come opens their order and chooses Sell Ticket, to the next fan on your waiting list or to someone they know.

The new fan pays the ticket type's current price at an ordinary checkout and gets a pass in their own name. The seller's pass stops working, and the seller gets back what they paid for it. With the waiting list on in the same Settings tab, a pass offered to anyone goes to the fan who joined the list first.

## Does Fai change anything without asking?

No. Fai answers questions such as how many players are in. She drafts emails and changes for a member of your team to approve, change or turn down before anything is saved or sent.

Fai can tell you how many people are in, whether a player has arrived or how each pass is selling, and she answers from your event's own figures. She can also draft an email, a new ticket type or a repeat-scan rule, and she shows you the change first.

Nothing is saved or sent until someone on your team approves it. You can approve, change or turn down every change she proposes.

[See what Fai can do on your tournament](https://www.ticketfairy.com/features/fai)

## Does scanning work without a signal?

No. The Entry Fairy app needs an internet connection to scan tickets, so check the connection at each entrance before the doors open.

The app is best installed on every phone the day before. One guest ticket sent to yourself on a ticket type that admits once, and scanned on each phone before the doors open, confirms each phone is ready. The first phone admits it, and every other phone shows it as already checked in, with the time and who scanned it.

A phone that shows neither result is not signed in or has no connection, so fix it before the first match. You undo the test scan from Individual Tickets on Check-In, so your count starts with the first player.

## Can I sell tickets to a virtual esports event?

Yes. For a virtual esports event or an online qualifier, you create an online event and add your Twitch or YouTube stream code. Each ticket has its own watch link that stays with the buyer, and viewers can donate while they watch.

You create an online event for the qualifier. Under Hosting Details, you choose Twitch or YouTube and paste the embed code from your channel into its Stream Code box, then select Preview Stream to check it. A Pre-Event Stream Code shows viewers what they see before you go live.

Each ticket has its own watch link. A buyer signs in to watch, and a forwarded link does not let a second viewer in. With Allow Donations on, you choose Amount of user's choice, with a minimum if you want one, or Fixed amounts, and viewers donate from the watch page.

## Can one tournament cover several games on PC and console?

Yes. The sign-up form can ask for each player's game and platform, such as PC or console, and each answer gets its own column in the list. A Player ticket type for each game covers games that each have their own entry fee or number of places.

On the sign-up form, you add a Choose one question for the game and another for the platform, each with its answers, such as PC, PlayStation and Xbox. Each question gets its own column in Submissions, and you can filter the list by the answer to one question.

Show this question only for some answers asks game-specific questions, such as a ranking that only one game uses. A Player ticket type for each game covers games with different entry fees or numbers of places.

[Ask each player for their game and platform](https://www.ticketfairy.com/guides/take-applications-with-a-form)

## Can I use Ticket Fairy for a card game or sports tournament?

Yes. A card game, basketball, football or other sports tournament sells spectator passes and player places the same way. Any competition with entrants and an audience can take sign-ups on a form and sell tickets from one event.

The Convention template covers named spectator passes, sign-ups come in on a form, and a Player ticket type holds the entrants. For a free tournament, both are priced at 0, and every guest still gets a barcode for the door.

On the day, the Ticket Type tab of Check-In counts players apart from spectators, so you know the field is in before the first round.

## How do walk-ups pay at the door?

In cash on any phone that runs the scanning app, or by tapping a card, phone or watch on a compatible Android phone. Taps work when your payment processing account is in a country where tap to pay works, your event's venue is in that same country, and your business address or the venue's address is complete.

Your door team sells walk-up spectator passes in the Entry Fairy app they scan with, from the same ticket types as your event page. You need no card reader, and as many phones as you like can take cards at once, with nothing to set up on each one.

If a phone does not offer card taps, the app names the reason, such as an event with no venue or a business address that is not complete. Fix what it names, and the option appears within a minute. Walk-up passes count in the same check-in report as online ones.

[See how door sales and check-in work](https://www.ticketfairy.com/features/check-in-and-box-office)

## Who pays the booking fee, us or the buyer?

The buyer, unless you choose otherwise. With Added, the default, the buyer pays the booking fee on top and you receive the full ticket price. Absorbed suits you when the price you announce on stream has to be the price at checkout, and the fee comes out of what you receive.

You choose once for each event, on the Tickets page or while you create the event, and every pass, player place and merchandise add-on follows it. The choice comes before your first ticket type, because you cannot switch between Added and Absorbed once ticket types exist.

The booking fee depends on the ticket price and your event's country. It falls as a percentage as prices rise, with a small minimum on low prices, and your Ticket Types table shows the exact amount for every price you enter. Free tickets, such as a free player place, carry no fee.

[Choose who pays the booking fee on your tournament](https://www.ticketfairy.com/guides/set-who-pays-the-fees)

## When do we get our ticket money?

You get it as tickets sell, once you link your own payment processing account and it is active. If you choose to be paid out after your event instead, Ticket Fairy processes the payments and pays you 10 to 15 business days after the event finishes.

With your account linked before your on-sale, you are paid as tickets and entry fees come in. Your publish review shows when the money for your tournament arrives. Paid out after your event needs nothing set up, so you can publish straight away.

When you are paid after the event, the money goes to the account under Payout Details on your brand, and one event can use a different account. It is worth checking before the finals, because a payout already sent to an old account has to be recalled. Pending refund requests or chargebacks extend the wait.

[Check the payout for your tournament](https://www.ticketfairy.com/guides/check-your-payout)

## Can fans earn their pass back by bringing friends?

Yes. Each buyer of a paid pass gets a personal referral link and earns back part or all of their ticket price as friends buy through it. You choose the three sales targets and the share each one returns.

On your event, under Tickets, then Settings, Disable Rewards System stays turned off. You set each tier's target from 1 to 10 referred sales and its Rebate. A new event starts at 10% after 2 sales, 30% after 5 and 100% after 8, and a buyer gets the highest tier they reach.

With Show referral rewards upsell on, your event page explains the rewards before checkout, and you then select Save Ticket Settings. Influencers lists each buyer with their clicks, referred sales, revenue and reward. The tiers stay fixed once the first ticket sells with rewards on.

[Reward fans who bring friends to your tournament](https://www.ticketfairy.com/guides/reward-buyers-for-referrals)

## Can a streamer earn commission on the tickets their viewers buy?

Yes. You invite the streamer to your team as a Promoter and choose their commission. They get a promoter link of their own, and every ticket their viewers buy through it counts for them under Sales by Promoter.

Under Team on your brand, you select Add Team Member, enter the streamer's email address and choose Promoter as the Permission level. Under Commission, you choose a commission structure or keep the default, then select Send Invitation. The commission applies to orders placed after they accept, and you can change it later on the Commission tab.

A promoter gets their own link and sees their own sales, and cannot open your payout pages. A streamer who promotes one tournament only joins from that event's Event Team instead.

[Invite a streamer as a promoter](https://www.ticketfairy.com/guides/invite-your-team)

## Can a pass open the players' area but not the production desk?

Yes. With accreditation, each pass opens only the zones and days you choose, and your staff gate checks each pass in and out. Every scan shows your team where its holder can go.

On the event, you select Operations, then Accreditation, and select Zones and pass types. You add each zone, such as Players' area and Production desk. On each pass type, you then tick the Zones it opens and its Days it works, and save it.

When you issue the passes from Accreditation, each person gets their pass by email. A pass scanned at the wrong zone or on the wrong day is refused with the reason, and the list of who is inside each zone shows when a team's coach went into the players' area.

[Issue passes with zones for your tournament](https://www.ticketfairy.com/guides/issue-accreditation-passes-for-your-event)

## Can team organizations name their own staff for passes?

Yes. Each team organization or production company gets an allowance of passes and a page link by email. They name their own people from any phone with no sign-in, and the names wait in Accreditation for you to issue.

On the event, you select Operations, then Outside teams, and select Add organization. You enter the organization's name, kind and contact, then select Give passes with the number of passes, the pass type and the date names close. Under Page link, you select Email the link.

The contact adds each person, or a list of up to 200 at a time, and sees each pass move from waiting to sent. Still needed on each row shows you who has not named everyone yet. After the date names close, their page stops taking new names.

[Let teams name their own people for passes](https://www.ticketfairy.com/guides/let-outside-teams-name-their-own-people-for-passes)

## Can I see why a player or spectator was turned away at the door?

Yes. Refused scans on Check-In counts every ticket and pass turned away, by reason, entrance, ticket or pass type and hour, while the doors are still open.

On the event, under Check-In, the Refused scans tab shows the day you choose. Show each refused scan tells you when it happened, the reason, the entrance and the holder, and Where and Reason narrow the list.

Many tickets shown again after check-in at different entrances in a short time usually means a pass was shared as a screenshot. To let a refused person in, your team uses the door scanner or a supervisor's link at the staff gate.
