Chennai Artist Aira Announces Debut Single ‘Golden Hour’

Chennai based singer-songwriter Aira has been penning music since she was twelve years old and eventually began posting her originals on social media. Now at the age of seventeen, the singer is set to release her debut single titled ‘Golden Hour’ on January 5th. The Ticket Fairy had a quick chat with Aira in anticipation of her first release!

An upshot of the quarantine earlier this year, Aira describes ‘Golden Hour’ to have a ‘moody tone’. She explains the premise of the song to be “essentially about returning to a place of misery even after recognizing that something’s toxic in your life.”

“This song’s subject is something I’m personally detached with mostly because I have been heavily inspired by writing about different/external perspectives, lives, people and scenarios lately,” she continued.

Although the singer has released a handful of original tracks, ‘Golden Hour’ is unlike anything she has done before, both sonically and lyrically. She indicates trying her hand at experimenting with the track and stepping outside her comfort zone.

The song is produced by Chennai-based music producer Michael Timothy who is also the bassist of the band Madras Mail. Collaborating with Timothy has been a dream for Aira ever since she set to record her music. “I’m so beyond happy and honored to have worked with a mind-blowingly talented and a very deeply admirable artist like him.”

‘Golden Hour’ unquestionably won’t be the last of Aira as she plans to roll out more singles going forward, but an EP ‘still feels like a distant dream!’.

‘Golden Hour’ will be out on streaming platforms on January 5, 2021.
