COVID-19 is aggravating our lives again after the partial relief seen in the last few months. The second wave is precipitous and the news surrounding us daily adds on to the pressure. In this hour of need, looking after our mental health becomes essential for our well-being. To help you get through these trying times, we’ve compiled some mental health resources for you or your loved ones to seek professional help. We hope this helps you navigate any emotional distress or mental health troubles you may be dealing with.

The National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS) is a multidisciplinary institute for patient care and academic pursuit in the field of mental health and neurosciences. It is a 24 * 7 toll-free helpline for anyone experiencing mental health distress during the COVID 19 crisis. They will provide psychological support and mental health services from mental health professionals.

iCALL is a telephone, chat, and email-based counseling service run by the School of Ecology, Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS). They provide free emotional support, information, and referral services to individuals in psychosocial distress, across all ages, different gender, and sexual identities through a team of qualified and trained mental health professionals in multiple languages.

Mann Talks 

The Mann Talks Helpline offers free and confidential emotional and psychological support through a team of trained mental health professionals. Their services provide an ‘empathetic and non-judgemental environment for one to share their thoughts, emotions, and experiences freely.

Cyrus & Priya Vandrevala Foundation is a non-profit organization that aims to provide aid and funding for people suffering from mental health illness in India. It is a Pan India, 24 * 7 multilingual service that operates round the clock.

Lifeline Foundation

Lifeline Foundation is a government-registered non-profit organization located in Kolkata for over twenty-four years. They provide free and anonymous emotional support to people who are in despair, depressed or suicidal. The services are handled by meticulously trained volunteers.

Talk To Me

Talk To Me was founded for public service to provide mental health assistance to those suffering or in need, and to the deprived sections of society. Their services include diagnosis and treatments of mental illnesses (anxiety, depression, panic attacks, etc), psychotic disorders, Grief Counselling (Loss, Grief, Bereavement), teenage mental health, learning disabilities, and more. They offer affordable mental health services with pay-as-you-can services.

Serefe Counselling and Therapy

Serefe Counselling and Therapy Centre is an online counseling platform providing mental health and holistic wellbeing services. Therapize India

Therapize have started three COVID-19 Support Circles focusing on grief, burnout, and anxiety following the rise of cases across India. These sessions will be headed by qualified counseling psychologists and supported by a community of people who are struggling with similar feelings. Each Support Circle will have four sessions on Saturdays from 11:00-12:30 PM: 1st May, 8th May, 15th May, 22nd May. All sessions will be live and only in English, and they can be accessed online via phone/laptop.

Their groups of therapists work with individuals, couples, and families, of all age groups.
