But there is one particular genre that has influenced some of the biggest dance numbers Bollywood has seen in recent years – that is Bass Music. Taking influences right from its early days when Jungle music was in full flow to modern-day Dubstep, and making use of the genre for the songwriting of charting Bollywood tunes, Bass Music and Bollywood have always walked hand-in-hand. So, jump on to the hype train and get ready because we are about to give you some of your favorite Bollywood numbers which you never thought would be byproducts of Bass Music. #### **JIYA LAGE NA FROM TALAASH (2012)** \[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7enndt4Sx3Y\] ‘Jiya Laage Na’ from Aamir Khan’s Talaash is the genius of composer Ram Sampath featuring vocals of Sona Mohapatra and Ravindra Upadhyay. Starting with the sultry high-pitched vocals of Sona Mahapatra, the tune culminates and shapeshifts between Jungle and Drum & Bass with its industrial breaks and drums. This is the closest a Bollywood track has come to conventional Jungle and Drum & Bass. #### **MANGTA HAI KYA FROM RANGEELA (1995)** \[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gB2gnujkHbY\] This may come as a surprise for you (It was for us too when we realized this tune is Jungle) but it is proof that A.R Rehman was far ahead of our time with his music. Drum & Bass and Jungle originated in the UK in 1993 and this tune being from 1995 exemplifies the unparalleled technical prowess of the legendary composer. #### **BEDARDI RAJA FROM DELHI BELLY (2011) GRIND MIX ** \[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QbrpHBiUwiA\] This re-creation of ‘Bedardi Raja’ from ‘Delhi Belly’ is a track that you must have definitely heard in clubs, radios etc. but the backstory of this explosive Dubstep flip of the original is from UK-based producer Tigerstyle who had recently worked on ‘Nachan Nu Jee Karda’ from the movie ‘Angrezi Medium’. #### **SAPNON SE BHARE NAINA** **FROM LUCK BY CHANCE (2009)** \[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=njxeRQzPEOw\] Another Bollywood classic from the movie ‘Luck By Chance’ composed by the eclectic musical trio Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy and sung by Shankar Mahadevan. The tune takes Drum & Bass terrains but keeps its Bollywood authenticity with the use of classical Indian elements. #### **KKL FROM GANGS OF WASSEYPUR (2012)** \[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iy46sv82YSg\] Many of you would know this version of the original but if you don’t, this tune comes from one of the most iconic scenes from Anurag Kashyap’s magnum opus ‘Gangs Of Wasseypur’ when Faizal \[Nawazuddin Siddiqui\] finally gets his famous ‘Badla’ from Ramadhir Singh. This thunderous Dubstep banger was put together by Sneha Khanwalkar and Piyush Bhatnagar aka Sound Avtar.
