The Most Anticipated Movies Of August 2021

Along with the theatrical releases, movies are now also being released on OTT platforms such as Amazon Prime Video, Disney Plus, HBO Max, and more! This can make it a little complicated to keep track of some exciting movies coming out. We thought we’d help you catch up with some of the most anticipated releases every month by compiling a list of movies spanning from theatrical releases to those out on streaming platforms. Keep an eye on this space every month so you don’t miss some amazing movies!

The Suicide Squad

With The Suicide Squad, this time James Gunn is taking up the helm as a director of the sequel to DC’s team of anti-heroes. Though not exactly a sequel, it features a stellar cast led by Margot Robbie, Idris Elba, Viola Davis, John Cena, Sylvester Stallone, Joel Kinnaman, Jai Courtney, and Peter Capaldi. This film revolves around the most dangerous supervillains on Earth who are sent to the remote, enemy-infused island of Corto Maltese by the government.

These supervillains include Bloodsport, Peacemaker, King Shark, Harley Quinn, and a collection of crazy cons at Belle Reve prison who are armed with high-tech weapons. They join the super-secret, super-shady Task Force X and trek through the dangerous jungle on a search-and-destroy mission. To make sure they behave, The Suicide Squad only has Colonel Rick Flag on the ground.

This film was released on 5th August 2021. Watch The Suicide Squad in theaters near you, depending on the Covid restrictions in your region! However, if you’re in the US, you may find this unhinged group of anti-heroes on HBO Max right now if you have an ‘Ad-Free’ subscription plan on the streaming service.
