PS3 Games You Need To Revisit

In 2006 Sony launched their third addition to their gaming console that was called the PlayStation 3. Its competitors at the time, Xbox and, Wii were nowhere near Sony’s technological advancements, the PS3 was the first gaming console to have HD video and HD sound along with multimedia and non-gaming features. 

The PS3 could deliver high-quality games along with exclusive Sony games likes the God Of War series, Uncharted 2 – Among Thieves, and The Last Of Us. We’ve curated a list of games you might like to revisit and get that PS3 that might be stored in your attic.

Uncharted 2 – Among Thieves

Many call Uncharted 2 (Among Thieves) the pinnacle of the entire series with really good voice acting and an amazing story that takes place two years after the events in Drake’s Fortune, the first Uncharted game which kicked off the very successful series. The action-adventure series was developed by Naughty Dog and published by Sony Computer Entertainment in 2009 exclusively for the PS3.

Well if you haven’t heard of the Uncharted series, the story revolves around a man named Nathan Drake who journeys across the entire world uncovering various historical artifacts and mysteries. In Among Thieves he’s accompanied by Chloe Frazer and Elena Fisher who are in search of the Cintamani Stone and the city of Shambhala while also having to fend off a mercenary group send by war criminal Zoran Lazarevicé.

Ratchet and Clank Future – A Crack In Time

Ratchet and Clank Future – a Crack in time is developed by Insomniac Games and published by Sony Computer Entertainment for the PS3 in 2009. The story follows Ratchet and Clank reuniting to defeat Nefarious who trying to take control of time and while the story unravels we get to know more about our two favorite characters’ past, and how they meet each other. 

Ratchet and Clank Future is an action-adventure, roleplaying game that involves puzzles and an adventurous story for players to follow. The game also has an open-space world which you could spend countless hours exploring.

Metal Gear 4 – Guns of Patriots

The action-adventure roleplaying series, Metal Gear 4 – Guns of Patriots is developed by Kojima Productions and published by Konami exclusively for the PS3 in 2008. The story follows an aged Solid Snake who is now going by the name Old Snake, he goes on one last mission that is to assassinate his nemesis Liquid Snake.

Metal Gear 4 is also the sixth game in the series directed by Hideo Kojima and won the VGX Best Graphics Award and Gamespot’s Award for the Game Of The Year in 2008.

Tekken 6

Tekken 6 is an arcade fighting game developed and published by Bandai Namco Games in 2007, it is the sixth main and seventh installment to the Tekken series. Tekken 6 introduced seven new characters to fight with and has a total of 41 playable characters only in the console version. 

The story of Tekken kicks off after Jin Kazama won the tournament and was hailed as the Iron Fist, he took charge of the Mishima Zaibatsu and declares war against every nation. While things spiral out of control Jin’s father, Kazuya Mishima finds out about his sons’ evil doings and tries to put a stop to it.

Grand Turismo 5 – Prologue

Grand Turismo 5 is a racing game developed by Polyphony Digital and published by Sony Computer Entertainment in 2010. With realistic driving features along with realistic maps and many original replicas of cars, players have a variety to choose from. 

There have been six installments of the game with two be released with the very first PlayStation, and two more on the PlayStation 2. With relatively new sequels to the game with better cars and better graphics, you can also connect your Logitech G25 to have a better racing experience.

A lot of these games haven’t come out on the PS4 and PS5, with it exclusively only available on the PS3 for players to be able to play. If you’ve stored up your PS3 some where in the attic this might be the perfect time to try out the games we’ve listed on top.
