That’s how we would describe Kublai and Minor Forms’ music. Manchester-based [Kublai](https://www.instagram.com/__kublai__/) made his debut on Goldfat Records in 2020 with the ‘Discworld’ EP that featured two tracks that tie spine-tingling melodies and deep basslines with a tinge of eastern elements. After appearing on Pyxis’ Headsbass series to complete 2020, Kublai started the year strongly with a release on MURKT before landing his debut EP on CIA Records. [Minor Forms](https://www.instagram.com/minor_forms/), on the other hand, is one part of the Arcatype trio and decided to branch out his solo project and released his first EP ‘Blindfold’ on CIA Records. Since then, he has taken his razor-sharp music to labels like Vandal Records, Context Audio, and Sofa Sound Bristol. Kublai and Minor forms had previously come together early this year for ‘Glides’ as part of Minor Forms’ two-tracker on Vandal Records. 6 months later, they have done it again, but this time, it is for an energetic 4-track EP on [CIA Records](https://www.instagram.com/ciarecords69/). \[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EgIkZXj6pYI\] The ‘Future Motion’ EP begins with the Jungle-tinged ‘Got Me Feeling,’ which begins with gloomy synths and eerie atmospherics before collapsing into a snappy drop engaged with technoid drum patterns. Next up is the title track’ Future Motion’, which follows the previous tune’s footsteps, albeit with some smartly structured ragga-tinged samples. ‘Motif’ takes a more industrial route with its transportive dubwise aesthetics embedded over a delicious low-end bassline.
