Amazing Shows You Must Watch in December 2021

With many series being released on different OTT platforms such as Amazon Prime Video, Disney Plus, Netflix, etc., it can be a little complicated to keep track of some exciting series coming out. We thought we’d help you catch up with some of the most anticipated releases every month by compiling a list of limited series, new releases, as well as series that are back with their latest seasons on different streaming platforms. Keep an eye on this space every month so you don’t miss some amazing releases!

Lost in Space (Season 3) – December 1

Netflix’s ‘Lost in Space’ is set thirty years in the future. In this series, the Robinson clan “has been chosen to start a new life in a space colony.” However, on the way to what they believe will be a better world, all of a sudden their ship is thrown off course.

They are thrown into a dangerous alien environment and now light-years from their original destination, they must forge new alliances. The Robinson family must work together with their alliances to survive and be on the lookout for danger, as well, because they are facing challenging times. The third and final season of ‘Lost in Space’ arrives on Netflix on December 1.

Harlem – December 3

‘Harlem’ is an upcoming series streaming on Amazon Prime Video which follows four ambitious best friends, Camille, Tye, Quinn, and Angie, who follow their dreams after graduating from college together. It stars Meagan Good, Grace Byers, Shoniqua Shandai, Jerrie Johnson, and premieres on December 3!

 

Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous (Season 4) – December 3

Teens attend an adventure camp on the opposite side of Isla Nublar in the Netflix series ‘Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous’. The fourth season of the series in which these teenagers must band together to survive when dinosaurs wreak havoc on the island is streaming on Netflix from December 3 onwards.

The adventurous series is voiced by You’s Jenna Ortega, Benjamin Flores Jr., Sean Giambrone, Ryan Potter, Kausar Mohammad, Raini Rodriguez, Paul-Mikél Williams, Stephanie Beatriz, Jameela Jamil, and more! ‘Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous’ Season 4 arrives on Netflix on December 3.

Money Heist (Season 5 Volume 2) – December 3

Volume 1 of ‘Money Heist’ Season 5 premiered on Netflix on September 3 while Volume 2 which concludes the series comes to the streaming platform on December 3. The series follows an unusual group of robbers who are headed by a criminal mastermind who goes by “The Professor”.

The robbers “attempt to carry out the most perfect robbery in Spanish history” and their plan is to print “billions of euros in the Royal Mint of Spain”. They take hostages “to aid in their negotiations with the authorities.” ‘The Professor’ therefore, recruits eight people with certain abilities to help him carry out the ambitious plan. The authorities make a plan to come up with a way to capture The Professor. As time goes by, the robbers prepare for a showdown with the police.

Aranyak – December 10

Two mismatched hill station police officers navigate a web of suspects after a puzzling murder in an upcoming Netflix series titled ‘Aranyak’. The show features Raveena Tandon, Ashutosh Rana, Zakir Hussain, and more wherein political ploys, personal agendas, and the myth of a murderous entity all surface. ‘Aranyak’ arrives on Netflix on December 10.

The Witcher (Season 2) – December 17

‘The Witcher’ follows Geralt of Rivia, a solitary monster hunter. Geralt, who is played by Henry Cavill, “struggles to find his place in a world” in which “people often prove more wicked than beasts”. Watch the second season of the series in which Geralt journeys toward his destiny in a turbulent world – December 17 onwards on Netflix.

Emily in Paris (Season 2) – December 22

Starring Lily Collins as Emily Cooper – a young American woman who is a Chicago marketing exec is hired by a marketing firm in Paris to provide them with an American perspective on things. Cooper embraces her adventurous new life while juggling work, friends, romance in the Netflix series – ‘Emily in Paris’, and its second season arrives on the streaming platform on 22nd December.

The Silent Sea – December 24

Netflix’s hit Squid Game’s actor Gong Yoo returns to the streaming platform in the South Korean sci-fi mystery thriller ‘The Silent Sea’. The description of ‘The Silent Sea’ on Netflix reads: “During a perilous 24-hour mission on the moon, space explorers try to retrieve samples from an abandoned research facility steeped in classified secrets.”

Apart from Gong, it stars the ‘Sense8’ actor Bae Doona, Lee Joon, Heo Sung-tae and the series is an adaptation of the 2014 short film – ‘The Sea of Tranquility’. The short film was written and directed by Choi Hang-Yong who will also direct the series which is available on Netflix from 24 December onwards.

The Book of Boba Fett – December 29

Starring Temeura Morrison as Boba Fett and Ming-Na Wen as Fennec Shand in the upcoming thrilling Star Wars adventure. ‘The Book of Boba Fett’ “finds legendary bounty hunter Boba Fett and mercenary Fennec Shand who navigate the galaxy’s underworld when they return to the sands of Tatooine to stake their claim on the territory once ruled by Jabba the Hutt and his crime syndicate.”

First teased in a post-credits sequence of the season two finale of The Mandalorian, this original series – ‘The Book of Boba Fett’ premieres on Disney Plus on December 29!

 

Cobra Kai (Season 4) – December 31

Decades after the events of the 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament that changed their lives, “a middle-aged Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence find themselves martial-arts rivals again” as Lawrence seeks redemption by reopening the infamous Cobra Kai dojo. This reignites his rivalry with a now-successful Daniel LaRusso in ‘Cobra Kai’ which returns with its fourth season on December 31!

Queer Eye (Season 6) – December 31

You may end this year or begin next year in the most perfect way by watching ‘Queer Eye’ wherein the Fab Five advise people in need of lifestyle makeovers. It is a Netflix reboot of ‘Queer Eye’ the original series that went off-air over a decade ago. As you can see in the above trailer – the sixth season of ‘Queer Eye’ sees the Fab Five (Karamo Brown, Bobby Berk, Tan France, Jonathan Van Ness, and Antoni Porowski) take over Austin, Texas.
