With so much new music coming out every day, we thought we’d help you pick up a few fresh music releases from the last week that you shouldn’t miss. We have compiled a list of music from various styles, genre no bar. Keep watching this space for your weekly dose of fresh music!

Eskimo Callboy – PUMP IT [Single]

Striking the perfect balance between heavy riffing and rampaging synths, Eskimo Callboy have done it again with ‘PUMP IT’. The accompanying video is totally retro 80’s inspired, similar to the guided aerobics workout videos that used to air on TV back in the day. But, Eskimo Callboy combines modern metal chug-chug guitar sounds with EDM synth lines and textures, and pacey pounding drums, to create a massive wall of sound.

Demonstealer – The Holocene Termination [EP]

One of the few stalwarts of Indian metal who still stands his ground, Sahil Makhija a.k.a. Demonstealer dropped a 4-song EP ‘The Holocene Termination’, featuring musicians from well-known bands across the world.  Fleshgod Apocalypse, Gorgasm, Marduk and more come together with high octane blast beats, slick transitions and heavy riffing to give you exactly what you’ve been looking for.

Bryan Adams – On The Road [Single]

The first single from his upcoming album ‘So Happy It Hurts’, Bryan Adams released ‘On The Road’, a song reminiscent of the hits that he is famous for, but, of course, with added maturity in songwriting and lyrical expression. Adams has been creating new material during lockdown, which is inspired by the freedom of being out on the road, as a touring musician, a feeling that every musician can relate to.

Cult of Luna – Cold Burn [Single]

Cult of Luna have announced their new album ‘The Long Road North’ and dropped the first single ‘Cold Burn’, which combines the band’s use of ethereal soundscapes with real time video and interactive story-telling. The video is part of a gaming experience created by Linus Johansson of North Kingdom Greenhouse which is set to launch with the new album on February 11, 2022.

Mike Shinoda – ZIGGURATS [Mixtape]

Taking to new world of NFTs, Mike Shinoda launched a mixtape ‘ZIGGURATS’, marketing it as an art + music release, where purchasers of the NFT got their own uniquely generated album artwork on the exclusive launch date of December 2, and then the 4-track mixtape went live onto streaming platforms a day later on December 3. The experiment was a huge success, as the limited 5000 artworks that were designed specifically for the NFT launch sold within minutes.

Siyaahi x Dhanji x Acharya – Screenplay [Single]

Rappers from Ahmedabad, Siyaahi and Dhanji, released a new single called ‘Screenplay’ produced by Acharya. Expect some sick bars and a tight 808-heavy beat. The track is also heavily influenced by the hip hop sound that came out of Memphis in the early 90s. The song is a follow-up to their tape Lost In AMD, which was released over a year ago

Villem – Difference (ft. Rider Shafique & Pat Fulgoni)

Starting in 1996, to become one of the most pivotal platforms that made the DnB sphere progressive, Drum&BassArena are celebrating their 25th anniversary this year with a mammoth compilation consisting of nearly the entire scene. From the album’s release for the week, Villem has teamed up Rider Shafique and Pat Fulgoni for a tune that captures both the light and dark spectrums of Drum & Bass.

Korsssakov – Javan Ferret

Mexico’s Haunted Space label bring rising artist Korsssakov from Puebla for his second release on the label. Korsssakov’s ‘Prison Mukbang’ EP features 5 mind-numbing cuts of Odd Ball Electro along with a remix from Guadalajara-based artist Niño Árbol. ‘Javan Ferret’ which is our pick from the EP is a steezy percussion-led Electro number which carries an evocative bassline.

IzangoMa – City Lights

This is a very special release on Brownswood Recordings, who are known to bring the world to their label. ‘City Lights’ bring IzangoMa, a supremely talented musical outfit from Pretoria South of Africa, consisting of AshK and Sibusile Xaba. Their debut single on the label called ‘City Lights’ is a celebration of traditional African music that features percussive drum palettes, free echoing vocal chants, and horn sections.

DJ Couza – African Beer

South African DJ Couza is bringing his stylistic brand of House music to Traxsource for a delicious self-titled EP featuring 5 sumptuous tunes full of Afro and Deep House music. Our pick from ‘The Couza’ EP is the vocal sample-led Deep House stunner, ‘African Beer’.

Zed Bias – Beijing (ft. Strategy)
